Her heart was bleeding
From all the lies
That cut through her veins
When she realized

The start was ending
Breaking the ties
Amid all the pain
She was paralyzed

She screams in her head
All she wants to be said
Before she can be dead

Her world was burning
In her auburn eyes
It rained down her cheeks
Like the melting ice

Her thoughts were shaking
From all the ‘WHYs’
He gave her the world’s
Worst surprise

She screams in her head
All she wants to be said
Before she can be dead

The Man in My Mirror

One day I woke up in the middle of the night
And I wasn’t sure if I was dreaming or awake
I walked to the washroom; Splashed some water on my face
My head was spinning; was I real or a fake?

I need an answer. What is the truth?
Is it fine to anchor, my feelings with you?

The man in my mirror
Is getting so near
He screams in my ear
The earth ain’t a sphere

The truth is so clear
Ain’t nobody here
To stay with you forever
Like the Man in the mirror

I used to be scared to sleep when there was no light
And now, the darkness, is all I really seek
I wonder if people think that this is a race
Cuz everyone I know has driven away without a brake

I need an answer. What is the truth?

Digging up the ground
Burying stones like they were gold
Soil all over the body but
Carefree if mom was going to scold

Scribbling on the walls with
Colors we didn’t know what, were called
Didn’t matter if someone’s going to judge
No self notes to not sing aloud

Was that us? We wanted to grow up
Was that us? Well we didn’t get any heads up
Was that us? Thinking we can make own choices
Was that us? Dreaming perfect pretty lives

Who knew that so quickly
All our sweet days would get rolled
Even before we could spell our names
We were already getting called old

I just wish mom would evoke me
From this nightmare that’s so cold
And I’d wake up with no more longing
To grow up and fight battles my heart can’t hold

Was that us? We wanted to grow up
Was that us? Well we didn’t get any heads up
Is this us? Younger souls trapped in older bodies?
