Happy Thanksgiving

Have a ball on Turkey Day.

While I won’t be heading to the Turkey Testicle Festival, I will be traveling to dine with friends in Memphis and I’m so looking forward to sharing the community meal.

And for the musically inclined, here’s a link to a ton of food tunes you can stream while eating your turkey repast.

Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Feel Good Friday – The Offspring

Riding to a game last night, I flipped the radio around the dial until I ran across this tune. Cranked it up, sang along (Give it to me baby) and put a smile on my face for a few minutes.

The Offspring – Pretty Fly (For a White Guy).

Feel Good Friday – Soulful Dress

I was listening to Terry Gross on NPR’s Fresh Air on Thursday and they had a wonderful piece on singer Sugar Pie DeSanto.

I decided then and there that this would be my Feel Good Friday song.

Soulful Dress.

Tonight I want to go the party Sugar Pie is about to attend and watch her dance all night long.

Oh, and I don’t have a clue why all the visuals in the video are shots of vintage scooters. Not a clue, but they’re pretty cool too.

Big Boned Feel Good Friday Edition

I made you suffer earlier this week with a female singer who spells her name differently, so now I’ll treat you to another siren with unusual spelling.

From the Ke$ha and Star Trek “Tik Tok” mashup to kd lang’s “Big Boned Gal.”

Happy Friday everyone!

Ke$ha and Star Trek

The only thing that could make an earworm more palatable and tolerable would be a mashup.

I’ve had Ke$ha’s “Tik Tok” cycling through my head for about a week now. (Thank you. I know your pity is palpable).

To make the pain a little easier, I found this video that combines the pop star and Captain Kirk and now I must share it with you.

Ok, it’s not sharing, it’s more like I’m spreading the misery.

You can thank me later.

Feel Good Friday – Hey, Soul Sister

Hey, I haven’t visited with you fine folks in quite a while. My apologies for not foisting my opinions and ideas and funky finds onto your cyber space in recent weeks.

So, I’m back today to present a Feel Good Friday tune.

It’s been stuck in my brain for weeks. Nothing dramatic or edgy, just a catchy tune from Train. Choo-Choo!

It’s “Hey, Soul Sister.”

And, if you like the way the lyrics are animated in the Train video, check out this Muto video of animation painted along sidewalks and buildings by the artist Blu.

Feel Good Friday – Evolve

Happy Friday everyone!

I know this is a commercial for Gatorade, but I can’t find a video version of the song without it, plus I still dig watching Muhammad Ali strut and do his shuffle.

The song is by Kermit Quinn.

Feel Good Friday — Bread and Butter

I’ve had this song stuck in my head for about five days now.

I thought I would share for Feel Good Friday.

The Newbeats with “Bread and Butter.” I’m loving the lead singer’s blonde fro and those skinny ties.

Not a Single Lady

Beyonce’s song “All The Single Ladies” has created several youtube sensations.

Here’s one more.

This poor little boy had his dreams of being a single lady dashed by his father.

Feel Good Good Friday – Good Golly Miss Molly

It’s Good Friday, so I thought I’d post a song with GOOD in the title for Feel Good Friday.

How about Little Richard performing “Good Golly Miss Molly” with a little “Lucille” thrown in for “good” measure.

It’s a performance from France in 1966.
