Cactus

While Justin and Vanessa were here we went out to the desert to look for rocks and shoot off some rockets. One of the rockets landed down the hill from where we were so the Spencer and Justin ran down to get it. Not one to be left out Boston wanted to go and started to run to catch up. He tripped and fell ... right into a cactus. He landed on his belly and knees in the middle of the cactus. We carried him to the truck and took off his clothes. He cried and cried but held still while we were getting the stickers out. We later counted over 100 red spots around his knees, belly and arm. Poor guy!

The Aftermath OUCH!

Nessa and Justin

Nessa and Justin came to visit us Friday through Sunday. We visited some ghost towns played games and had a great time. It was so nice to have my sister with me when my grandma was struggling and passed away. Thanks V!

Another Day on the Ice

Spencer took a couple of his friends ice fishing this week. It is still so amazing to drive less than an hour, have the lake to themselves and catch fish like this.

Tricycle King

Boston has figured out how to ride his trike. He loves it. He looks so grown up pedaling down the road. The first thing he wants to do when he wakes up is ride his "mogocycle." Luckily it has been warm enough to go for a ride.

Fun

I saw this idea for a lacing dragon in a catalog. I got some wooden beads and spools at the craft store and stained them green. Then I used a permanent marker to add a face, scales and other designs. I put the head bead on and tied a knot in front of the mouth and then added the felt flame. I also tied a knot behind the head so it can not come off. Using a Dremel I cut a slot in the top of the head and glued the felt spikes in. Then I cut two beads in half and then glued them back together with the felt feet inside. It took only one day to complete. I put the dragon in a bag and carry it in my purse for a quiet activity. He loves to string th beads on and pull them off.

2 Year Anniversary

We are so thankful for a happy healthy boy. And for the great medical help that we have had so far. It is a miracle we are grateful for every single day.

Trains and Cranes

Boston is a true boy. He loves all types of vehicles and things that move and go, especially trains and cranes. So we took him downtown and road the train (trax) which was kinda scary at first but then he loved it. He was so interested in watching out the window and also looking at the colorful people on the train. We got off at a station near where they are doing all the construction for the malls etc. We counted 10 cranes plus so many diggers, dumpers and mixers. We could have stayed there all day and he would have loved it. Then we took a short walk down the street and saw the temple. We came around a corner and there it was. Boston was so excited he did a little stomping dance and shouted "The temple! The temple!" That made quite a few people smile.

He loved all the fountains and wanted to touch the water in each one. We went in the church office building and rode to the top. Boston kept pointing out all of the ovals (the reflecting pool, tabernacle and another building).

Baksetball

Boston loves "baksetball." Whenever we go to church he wants to know it we are going to play "baksetball", when people leave during sacrament meeting he asks if they are going to play baksetball. While driving he often spots hoops in peoples yards. We have a little hoop here that he plays with all the time. We went over to the church court one evening and he was so excited he was bouncing up and down the whole time yelling "shoot it!" or "score!" He ran up and down the court chasing the ball and wanted everyone to lift him up so he could "slam dunk it!" He slept very well that night.

Fondue

Boston and I headed to SLC for a few days to beat the winter blues in WY. We had so much fun seeing family and friends. We miss you all already!

One night we had our first fondue party. We had an Asian Beef and Chicken fondue and a Parmesan Cheese with veggies and bread fondue for dinner. Then a Chocolate fondue for dessert with fruit marshmallows and other goodies. Boston really got into the chocolate fondue (literally)!

Big Big Loader

I saw this on sale years ago and remembered playing with it at my Grandpa and Grandma's. I loved it and so I bought it and hoped that one day I would have children that would love it as much as I do. Well the day has finally come ...

He had a hard time leaving the car on the track. Once he let it stay on the track he sat mesmerized for about 10 minutes. Then he wanted to take it off again. We turned the car off and he then pushed it around himself for quite awhile. He was very sad to see it get put away.
