My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge #639

I'm joining the current sketch challenge at My Favorite Things with the Celebrate Everything Card Kit from last year.  I have really enjoyed this card kit when needing a quick (no-stamp) card.  The papers coordinate perfectly with the dies and sentiments. If you own this kit and would like additional inspiration you can check my blog posts below HERE . I love the cheerful primary colors included with the kit.  All supplies for my card came from the Celebrate Everything Kit.  The sentiment is from the MFT Itt Bitty Celebrations set. Penny Black Saturday Challenge - AG and Optional Easter

I'm joining the March Anything Goes challenge at Penny Black Saturday Challenge.  I recently ordered this fabulous scene stamp called Calm Waters .   It's a large stamp in red rubber that stamps beautifully and large enough to stand alone. The image was stamped onto a Gelli Print base and wet embossed with clear powder.  Green Memento ink was sponged for the grass.  A simple birthday sentiment completes the card. Art Impressions - Inside Out Challenge #347

I'm joining the current challenge at Art Impressions with the adorable Submarine Cubbies set.  The current challenge is to create both the inside and front of your card.   For ease of photographing, I did not mount the inside of my card immediately.  The left image is the card itself (front) and the right image is the inside panel. My card front started with a MFT sunray stencil and blue cardstock from Stampin' Up!  The submarine and ocean critters were die cut, colored and layered onto the stenciled panel.  A fun ocean floor scene from Impression Obsession was stamped on the bottom edge.  A wave stencil from MFT was used on the inside panel.  A couple of ocean critters from the Submarine Cubbies set were combined with seaweed, silhouette fish and rock from MFT to create the inside scene.   Have you seen the March digital release at Beccy's Place?  This is one of the new sets called Book Lovers.  It's perfect for those people in your life who enjoy books! The set includes the following; - 5 colored images - 5 black and white images - 6 sentiments. Card 1 - Center Step One for the Books.  Have you seen all of the great card tutorials on the Beccy's Place website?  I followed her Centre Step card tutorial for my first card.  The digital image was colored with Copic Markers and die cut with Spellbinders rectangle die.  The image was layered onto mulberry paper and various patterned papers  from an older DCWV Violet Leaft paper pad.  I finished the card with a coordinating sentiment and rhinestones. Card 2 - Happy Birthday Book Worm.  The bookstack image was printed and colored with Copic Markers then fussy cut.  It was adhered with dimension tape onto papers from Basic Grey's Oxford paper pad.  The finished card si...

Di's Digi Challenge - Mixed Media

I'm joining the current Mixed Media challenge at Di's Digi Challenge with a colorful birthday card.     My mixed media project started with a stenciled base.  This was my first time playing with stencil butter and it is VERY addicting.  So smooth and easy!  I've used TCW Marigold and Fuchsia Stencil Butter with a Tim Holtz stencil.  While the panel dried, I colored Di's sweet Dilly the Dog image with alcohol inks and die cut.  I love the texture created from the stencil butter!  I finished the card simply with Baker's twine. Allsorts and All Dressed Up Challenges

I recently won three digital images from All Dressed Up.  This adorable image is called Bon Voyage.  The digital image includes a stack of luggage on top.  I fussy cut the image and replaced the luggage with a stack of gifts. The car was colored with Prismacolor pencils and blended with baby oil.  I applied yellow stickles to the headlights and it layered it onto a gold foiled background.  Lots of sequins and Nuvo drops finish the card. SheepSki Designs Challenge: #72 Embellish It

I recently won 3 digital images from SheepSki Designs.  I couldn't resist playing with this adorable little party bear!  SheepSki Designs Challenge theme for March is Embellish It.  Most of my cards are mailed, but I included a few enamel dots and a pom pom to embellish the card. The Party Animal image was printed onto X-Press It card stock and colored with Copic Markers.  I then die cut with Spellbinders circle and scallop circle dies.  The image was layered onto Echo Park Happy Birthday paper scraps from my stash.  The card base is Stampin' Up! Taken with Teal embossed with a number folder. Polkadoodles Craft Challenge: Week 11 AG or Mother's Day

I'm starting on my Mother's Day cards early this year.  I send a card to all of the Mom's in my family so it takes a little time, but I enjoy creating them.  Since they are all mailed, I have included a flower seed packet just for fun. Today I'm using Polkadoodles adorable Bella Bear Mornings Coffee digital stamp .   I loved the soft colors of the pre-colored image so I printed, fussy cut and layered it with paper scraps from American Crafts Dear Lizzy Neapolitan paper pad. The pastel color combo was inspired by this week's challenge at Allsorts. Power Poppy Challenge: Inspired by the Sea

My hopes of an early Spring were dashed today with a wet snowfall.  What can a gal do but pull out a beautiful floral image, color and dream of Spring Flowers!   The current photo challenge at Power Poppy was a real inspiration tonight for my card.  It features Power Poppy's digital Tulips set.   The blooms were colored with alcohol markers and blended.  I water colored the background with Tombow markers and a paint brush. A coordinating sentiment is included in the set.  The image panel and layer were die cut with Scrappy Boy Stitched Scalloped Edge dies.  A piece of Pink Pirouette was used for the card base with a few sequins scattered. HMFMC # 385 Anything Goes Option Theme Use a Die

Are you looking forward to Spring weather?  In my yard, the first thing to pop through the soil are the lovely daffodils.  I know Spring is close when the green growth peeks through.   The current House Mouse and Friends challenge has an optional theme of dies.  I combined a Memory Box Spring Border die with this sweet House-Mouse Designs Feed and Seed stamp from 2005.  I was very fortunate to find a set of 7 older House-Mouse Design wooden stamps at my local thrift store.  What a find!  And the red rubber appeared to have never seen ink. The image was colored with Copic markers and die cut with a Wonky Stitched die.  Memory Box Puffy Clouds die and sentiment finish the card.   Card stock:  Colorbok polkadot, Stampin' Up! Lovely Lilac, Green Galore, Daffodil Yellow and Creamy Caramel. My Favorite Things Sketch and Color Challenges

I got a chance to spend quality time catching up with my sister this weekend by phone.  We live over 2000 miles apart with a 3-hour time difference so it can be difficult to catch one another.  Yes, we text often, but talking by phone is the next-best-thing to seeing her in person.  I guess that's why this sweet PI set came to mind today!   I'm joining the color and sketch challenge at My Favorite Things with a retired PI - A Phone Call Away.  The image was colored with Copic Markers then die cut with a Wonky Stitched die. The image was layered onto papers from MFT and Pink Paislee Switchboard.  A sentiment from the same set finishes the card.
