Word Art Wednesday - Psalm 119:103

It's time for a new bi-weekly challenge at Word Art Wednesday .  Our free digital Bible verse is Psalm 119:103.  Karen Murray generously provides the lovely digital word art each week!   As always you are never required to use the Scripture but you're free to download it.  Simply select the image, right click and save as.   You may link up to five (5) projects each week for a total of ten (10) entries per two-week challenge.  The more you enter, the more you increase your odds of winning. I have combined this week's verse with Dina Kowal's Pooh Classic Digital Stamp .  I kept the color minimal to focus on the characters and verse.  The image panel was layered onto a Gelli print which was created with a circle stencil and acrylic paints. HMFMC#388 Anything Goes Anything Goes Option of Water

Misti is hostessing at the House-Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge blog.  She included an option of Water for our challenge projects.  My card features House Mouse Designs Puddle Jumpers.  The image was colored with Tombow Markers and layered onto papers from Pebbles Inc and American Crafts. Blue Stickles were applied to the rain drops with a few raindrop gems for texture.  The cloudy dies are from Memory Box.  I thought the sentiment from My Favorite Things worked perfectly. Altenew April 2023 Inspiration Challenge

I very recently discovered Altenew and enjoy their lovely floral images.  They generously offer a couple of free coloring pages that can be found HERE .  My project features the free carnation color page. The Altenew April Inspiration colors worked perfectly with the carnations.  I began by coloring with a Crimson Red Prismacolor pencil and high lighted with Raspberry.  Three different green alcohol ink markers were used for the stems/leaves.  I kept the card CAS and finished with a few enamel dots and a red panel to provide a pop of color. Di's Digi Challenge - Button, Brads, and Bows

I'm joining the current Buttons, Brads and Bows challenge at Di's Digi Challenge Blog. I have to admit that I was so struck by Nancee's card this week that I had to purchase Di's Stitched For You digital image .  One of my favorite things about digital images is the instant download.  I purchased, printed, colored and created this card so quickly! The image was printed onto X-Press It card stock.  It has been colored with Prismacolor pencils and Copic Markers.  The image panel was die cut with a stitched square from Gina Marie Designs. I used a template for the spool shaped card, but it could have been easily cut freehand.  Below is the template that I found through a Google search.  It was provided by Sweetly Scrapped. A seam tape ribbon, button and sentiment from Hero Arts finishes the card.  The shaped card was also wrapped with the seam tape. Art Impressions Challenge - April Showers

I'm joining the current April Showers Challenge at Art Impressions.  The AI Design Team is looking for crafty projects using rain, rainbows, rainboots, umbrellas, clouds, puddles etc! After searching through my somewhat extensive AI stamp collection I couldn't believe there were no umbrellas, rainboots or rainbows to be found.  But I can always create with clouds! I pulled out a favorite (now retired) AI set - His & Hers Gardeners.  The gardner image was colored with Copic Markers and fussy cut.  It was layered onto cloudy designer paper from Bo Bunny.  The sentiment, fence die and cornstalk die are from My Favorite Things. Paper Shelter Challenge #549 - Anything That Flies

I was the lucky winner of a Paper Shelter image recently.  When I saw A State-of-the-art Dogwalk I knew it would be perfect for a clean and simple card. I chose to use the pre-colored digital version of the image.  It was printed onto a textured card stock with a digital sentiment from my files.  The image panel and red panel were die cut with a stitched square die from Gina Marie.  I finished the CAS 4 1/4 square card with a few rhinestones. Create A Smile - April Sketch Challenge

I really had fun creating this colorful monster card for the sketch challenge at Create A Smile .   I started by sponging Create A Smile Splotch Stencil with Hero Arts reactive inks - Creamsicle, Taffy and Lemon Drop. I LOVE this stencil!   The cute monster image is a Create A Smile freebie that you can find HERE .  It was colored with alcohol markers, fussy cut and adhered to the base panel with a wobble spring.  I couldn't resist adding the googly eyes for fun!  A couple of star gems from my stash finish the card. HMFMC #387 Anything Goes Option Dots and/or Stripes

I'm joining House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge with a fun Birthday card.  I found this adorable retired House Mouse Designs stamp during a recent trip to a local thrift store.  It's called Jalapeno Peppers from 1998.  It was sold by Stampa Rosa (no longer in business). I stamped the image then clear embossed.  The image was colored with Tombow markers, die cut and sponged.  It was layered onto pattern paper from My Favorite Things Cool Collab paper pad. Mixed Media Altered Junk Envelopes

I recently came across a how-to video on Pinterest demonstrating altered junk envelopes.  I'm sorry I did not save the video and can not give credit to the artist. The final photo in my post shows the envelope that was used for the project.  I trimmed the left end of the envelope about 2 inches then clipped diagonally to achieve the fold you see in the photo. I chose to use various stencils on the front of my envelope and finished with a Mother's Day sentiment.  The back of the envelope (third picture) was covered with a stenciled gelli print on tissue paper. I recently came across a project tip showing crafty items you can create with clothing pattern tissue.  This worked perfectly for the tag which will be inserted into my junk envelope.  You can see in the first photo how the tag appears through the window.  The second photo shows the tag and all of the fun bits along with a vintage photo of my husband and his family. This was such a fun project a...

Simon Says Stamp Challenges - Happy Birthday

Simon Says Stamp in celebrating their 14th Birthday this week.  I'm joining a couple of their challenges with an older/retired set from Simon Says Stamp called Birthday Treat. The image was colored with Copic Markers then die cut with a stitched circle from Pink and Main.  It was layered onto various patterned papers from American Crafts Dear Lizzy Neapolitan Paper Pad.  A coordinating sentiment from the set and enamel dots finish the card.  Enamel dots, Stickles and machine stitched border add texture for Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge.
