From April 26 to April 29, 2024, our dedicated members will be hitting the trails, parks, and urban landscapes of Saskatoon and Area, armed with smartphones and the powerful iNaturalist app. As part of this global initiative, we’ll be documenting wildlife observations and contributing to a worldwide effort to celebrate and protect the biodiversity of our local areas.

With the iNaturalist app, you can witness Saskatoon and Area’s progress firsthand, tracking observations, species identified, and the incredible community of nature enthusiasts taking part in the challenge. From Wood, Mound, and Field Ants to Mayflies, Western Meadowlarks, and Swainson’s Hawks, the diversity of wildlife waiting to be discovered is simply awe-inspiring.

But the City Nature Challenge isn’t just about exploration—it’s about empowerment and conservation. By participating in this year’s challenge, you’re not only immersing yourself in the beauty of Saskatoon and Area’s incredible nature but also playing a crucial role in protecting it for generations to come.

So, what are you waiting for? Grab your smartphone, download the free iNaturalist app, and join us in this epic adventure of discovery and conservation. Whether you’re a seasoned naturalist or a curious beginner, there’s never been a better time to connect with nature and make a difference in your community.
