Inunaki Tunnel is another great example of a horror narrative adventure ("walking sim") that actually plays like a walking sim rather than a survival horror game. While the atmosphere is dark, disorienting, foreboding and creepy, you are never really running from any monsters or in danger of dying and having to start over. It takes a lot of effort and craft to make the player feel this scared when they are not in any actual peril, and Chilla's Art is pretty universally good at this across the board.

Compared to some of their later work, Inunaki Tunnel is not the most inspired game in their catalog. There is really only one major puzzle and the rest of the game has to do with just navigating the space and finding the right items to get one of the three different endings. Personally, I like to play these games with a guide open on my 2nd monitor so that I do not get too lost or turned around, and so that I can always make sure that I'm not missing anything important. I really do not think that it takes much away from the experience; the vibes and atmosphere are still extremely unsettling, even with a guide.

After your first playthrough, it is fairly easy to blast through this game in fewer than 15 minutes if you really focus on what you are doing. My 2nd and 3rd sessions were a heck of a lot shorter than my first, but they were worth it to see all three endings. Still, by the time that I had seen everything that there is to see, I had played for fewer than 90 minutes in total, so you may want to keep that in mind if you are concerned with the dollars-to-hours value proposition.
