The Republic of New England

The Republic of New England is a relatively new nation, only concieved 80 years previous. The government is a Representative Constitutional Republic under the Continental Congress and Chancellor.The seat of Chancellor is currently occupied by the Confederalist, James Pershing. Although the name is Republic of New England, the capital is not in New England, it is in Pennsylvania. The capital is Philadelphia. Having similar governments and interest to that of the Californian Confederation, the Republic maintains its neutrality and a simple trade agreement with the Confederation. Most citizens of the Republic consider themselves to be called "Republicans" instead of by their homestate within the Republic. There are two main political parties of the Republic, the Federalist(Leftist) and the Confederalist(Rightist), there is still room for another. In the Continental Congress there are eight states. Each state gets two representatives to the Congress, making there be 16 seats in the Congress. Unlike todays Upper House and Lower House(Senate and House) there is only one house, the Congress. This was a brief description of the people and government of the Republic of New England.
