'Viper (real name Lee Carter) is an American rapper, born in El Dorado, Arkansas on October 7, 1971. He learnt to play the piano at age five, and shortly moved to Houston, Texas afterward, where he has remained for the rest of his life. He started his rap career in 2004 with the release of Hustlin’ Thick, although he had tried rapping before under different names such as Lee Dogg and J-Ride (both of which are shouted out on Hustlin’ Thick).
Viper is known for making an insane amount of home-produced albums, such as You’ll Cowards Don’t Even Smoke Crack, Kill Urself My Man, The Hiram Clarke Hustler, Tha Top Malla, and Cops are (Jelous) Losers.

Viper certainly did deal crack - Viper has even gone at length to say he both dealt and smoked it around the time of the creation of You’ll Cowards Don’t Even Smoke Crack, which in hindsight is kind of obvious. However, nowadays Viper only smokes weed, according to his ex-wife, and his recent offense for being caught with the drug backs up this claim.

Viper is known for starring in a movie called Fifth Ward, where he is one of the main characters. The movie came out in 1997, so it was before Viper started his rapping career. The movie is up in full on YouTube if you want to watch. It was actually directed by Viper’s brother, Greg, and an article reporting on the movie can be found in the Houston Press. It won the 30th Parallel Film Festival, for Best Director and Best Feature. Viper has also starred in another film called H-Town Mobbin, where he dies within the first ten minutes.'
