SF6 puts you in control of everything.

Menus are still odd to navigate on PC though.

Another Cyberpunk 2077 or Batman Arkham Knight. Tons of perfomance issues. Maybe wait a year to buy it.

It's for sure worth a buy, though.

Addressing the monetization upfront: P2W = Yes -- BUT it's not worthwhile spend money on most of the things they're trying to sell you.[/b] The game is very f2p friendly and you can out perform whales if you play cleverly and/or patiently.

The monetization can most certainly be problematic for people who feel the need to always win and/or have gambling addiction, though.

What this game has going for it:
  • Compared to other ARPG's this game has unprecedented group-play content. 8-player raids and other challenging group contents set it apart from any other ARPG to date.
  • The story is actually half-way decent, and many of the campaign bosses can be VERY challenging on your first go around.
  • The gameplay feels surprisingly well done for a cross-platform game. Sure there are some quirks in the control scheme, but they are easy to adapt to.
  • The level of customization when it comes to skills and character building feels unique but familiar at the same time.
  • Virtually no FOMO. The Shop doesn't make me feel like I'm missing out on anything at all really. Though, it does remind you of its existence daily.
  • Kinda mentioned this at the top, but it's cross-play. And feels pretty good on my phone. It's nice to be able to do inventory and min-maxxy stuff on the go.

The games issues:
  • POTENTIALLY TRIGGERS GAMBLING ADDICTION
  • General User-Unfriendliness All Around. The game is simply too complicated and cannot explain itself coherently in its would-like-to-be-concise tutorials.
  • UI issues on PC and a lack of general QOL improvements we've gotten used to over the last decade of ARPG patching.
  • Lack of hotkey customization on PC. Most notably the lack of remapping move and/or force move button.
  • Controller Support is shoddy at best.

TLDR: If you're looking for an ARPG with challenging group content as well as unlimited character customization this is it. It is P2W but also very grinder/f2p friendly at the time. Gambling addicts should avoid this game. I personally recommend it, because it balances all of these things in an impressive manner for an experienced ARPG gamer of over 20 years like myself.

Don't let the reviews fool you. People are bombing on this game because it's SO good that there are huge queues to play it. This game will be top 3 in the MMORPG genre for many years to come. IMO people shouldn't look at the review of others for a F2P game they can try themselves, but I'll type a bit of what I like and dislike about the game.

The combat is amazingly chunky, visceral, and meaty. The story, while a bit cliche in a lot of ways, is actually pretty well done. The World is HUGE and you can sail around it on several different ships that you can buy or craft. The graphics have aged pretty well for an UE3 game. With how well this game is doing I wouldn't be surprised to see a UE4, maybe even UE5 update in the future.

My biggest complaint is that the game has a TON of systems and doesn't really do the best job explaining them. So, using a site like maxroll.gg for guides is basically a must. You can make pretty huge mistakes that will set you back a lot in either time or money if you don't know what you're doing.

Other than that, p2w? Nah not really imo. The PvP arena for example automatically sets everyone at the exact same level with any sort of skill options that you'd like. Your PvE gear is something completely separate. For PvE though, yea some people are spending and getting "ahead" but if they want to go broke to run out of content faster let em. Doesn't bother me. I'll be there in a few weeks doing it the old fashioned way.
