200 character summary
Saints Row 4 is an amazing 3rd person free roam action game where you play as the president of the United States, The game is extremely over the top, and somehow the story even manages to top that.

Story & Characters 9/10
Like every Saints Row game, The story is completely over the top. The game starts with killing a few terrorists then climbing on a launched nuclear missile, disabling it and then landing right in the presidents chair in the white house. Then the planet gets attacked by aliens you get captured and end up in a simulation. This is where you will spend most of the game, Instead of gangs or STAG you primarily attack aliens in this one. You also visit other simulations, things get pretty crazy.

The characters in the game are all a bit filthy mouthed, But they do all have their own personality, And they are all just as crazy as the story itself, You are forced to play a lot of missions with them, I think the characters are done very well and is obvious by the whole fanbase behind it, Who doesn't like the good kind of crazy?

Gamemodes & Gameplay 9/10
The game is single player player or online coop, You can mix and match and play everything in coop, There are a few activities that require a second player, Like Cat and Mouse. The game progresses trough missions which are mostly in the open world, but a lot of the missions are in a special environment, So there is a decent amount of indoor action in the story missions. There are also a bunch of side missions, and some of them are great, but most of them are just clearing up all the activities on the map.

These activities differ in the amount of fun they are, Many of them will be familiar from previous games in the series like Mayhem, These can be on foot or in a vehicle like a tank or a jet, There is a timer and a gold score to achieve, The game stops when you reach the gold score, Which is a shame, this could have been a great opportunity for leaderboards. It does let your combo go on if you do not have the gold score when the timer reaches zero.

Most of the game is extremely easy, The gold stars are very easy to achieve and missions are just as easy, The game does offer a bunch of challenges but these are mostly getting all gold stars and grinding kills against aliens with a specific weapon. If you like somewhat of a challenge I recommend playing the game on hardcore

Aliens are sadly hard to find in the game, outside of missions and especially endgame there are just none, They will spawn when you cause havoc but also sparsely, especially normal ground troops, You are lucky if you can find more than 2 at a time. It will go from cops to ground troops to jumpers to ufos and tanks and in the final level everything around you will die, including the enemies and a warden spawns, These wardens have a shield which require you to use a superpower to disable it, and then you can damage it, They are pretty easy to kill, But I do think it is a sad thing no other enemies spawn, And it is especially a bummer that your whole wanted level clears when you kill it. Some people just want to kill endlessly, and this is not really the case here.

You have a bunch of superpowers, some enable you to shoot elemental bullets, fire a blast use a powered stomp or pick up thing people and even vehicles with your mind. All these superpowers have different elements, Like Freeze, Fire, Lighting, Even crazier ones like Bling which turns people into gold, Mind control which turns the enemy to your side and gravity, which makes people float. The only thing missing is the ability to fly.

Everything you do earns you exp, With this exp you level up your character which unlocks more and more upgrades, You can upgrade your sprint, jump, but even your homies unlock abilities, upgrade your superpowers, walk on water, no ragdoll and even unlock things like bonus exp and cash, If you upgrade everything you are practically immortal not entirely tho, but there is easy mode and even cheats if you enjoy that kind of thing. For all upgrades including weapons or cars you need cache which is the currency in the game. you need clusters for upgrading your superpowers.

Clusters are one of the collectables in the game, there are 1155 of them and you can collect them all for just an achievement the other collectables do give ingame rewards, The game has 36 statues to destroy and 39 audio logs to collect there are also 8 text adventures, And the DLC brings 2 extra collectable groups in a different simulation.

Like the previous Saints Row games you can customize your character, play as a male or female, adjust skin tone body type, face structure all with nice sliders, You can also still upgrade your weapons, all the classic Saints Row weapons are there, I just prefer normal bullets, But it is nice to be able to go crazy with a dubstep gun if you want to.

Graphics & Soundtrack 8/10
The graphics look a bit dated, but it surely is nothing to complain about, What bothers me more is the simulation effect, where cars, buildings everything looks a bit trippy, Like it is glitching. But I guess it fits the game, I just wish it could be turned off. The game has a great soundtrack full with hit singles, and this is mostly what you hear, Even on foot you have some radio built in your head or something. The game has a bit of an original soundtrack, but it is more to enhance certain missions and not something you really listen to while playing the game.

Performance & Support 7/10
The ingame graphic settings do not really make a difference for the performance, It is not wonderful but the game runs fine otherwise, For me it hovered between 80 and 120 fps mostly, It depends a lot on the area, The game does run smooth, no stutters or anything like that, so it does not impact gameplay in any way. My Xbox One controller also needed an easy fix, it was mapped wrong, You just need to replace the SDL file in the game directory.

Endgame & Replayability 8/10
Endgame you can just cruise around kill some aliens or repeat any of the activities, Sadly you can not replay the missions after you have done them. The activities are pretty easy and highscores are not really a thing, So if you like mindlessly killing or driving around it is okay, But I prefer a goal, or at least something interesting to do and sadly endgame lacks any goal whatsoever.

Conclusion 8/10
Overal it is a great game, It is a lot of fun, has a ton of suprises and over the top gameplay. The fun factor does drop a lot after completing the missions but it does offer like 30 hours of gameplay before you reach that point. If Open world cities or crazy stories and gameplay are your thing it is a no brainer, And for the rest, I would recommend to try it, It surely is a lot of fun.

200 character summary
Sparklite is a very colorful action adventure game with a few rogue elements, a nice story and some amazing pixel art. Explore the 5 different areas in a changing world together with your pet Wingnut.

Story & Characters 8/10
In Sparklite you play as Ada and you have a flying robot who accompanies you at all time hir name is Wingnut. You live on a planet named Geodia which is held together by Sparklite. Sparklite is a fluid substance that has a lot of power, It can be harnessed and the inhabitants of the planet have mastered it powering all their machines, weapons, It is such a wonderfluid that it is being used as a currency. Sparklite can also be consumed, Which releases an incredible amount of energy, but it will be gone forever.

The self proclaimed Baron of Geodia is planning to consume the Sparklite to take over the world and released 4 mining titans to gather every bit of Sparklite there is. This causes an inbalance with devastating results, The planet is breaking up, animals are going crazy. One of these titans is Adas first encounter with the evil and when they take your Wingnut it is personal, You get rescued by some friendly folk in a flying airship also called the Refuge. With the help from some of the people there it is up to you to save Wingnut and the world of Geodia.

The story plays out trough dialogue mostly, There are some very nice slideshows with some amazing pixel art tho, These are sadly pretty rare. I like the characters, And they are useful with the things they offer but I did not really bond with them, It is mostly just you and your robot Wingnut. I do like some of the references that the characters have, Like Monty is a pirate with a gameshow; Monty's Haul, The gameshow is exactly the Monty Hall problem. Then there are the explorers Margo and Pogo, Probably more I missed.

Gamemodes & Gameplay 8/10
The game is marketed as a Roguelite, which is true, But it does not feel like a roguelite. Dying will not set you back or make you lose anything important really, You do lose your Widgets, and they can be very handy but you surely don't need them. The map will change a little but all the areas will still be in the same general place, They might shrink or grow have some extra furnaces or chests. What you encounter will be pretty random, but it all feels very familiar. I would say it feels more like an action adventure game. I also have to add that the local coop is not really fair, Player 2 will control Wingnut.

You start every run on the airship, Here you can do a lot, you can talk to some people and find some little secrets but it is not very big, You can unlock some things using Sparklite like a Widget shop where you can grab a free widget for every run, A Workshop where you can transform found blueprints into weapons for a small fee. Then there is Harmony which will try to compose a song using beats which are singing birds you have to collect. There are 55 of them and they are hidden reasonably well. But not hard to find.

On the Airship you also have the medical bay, Which is very handy, Here you can equip patches you found, and you can even fuse 2 bronze patches into a silver patch and do the same with the silver ones to get gold patches. These gold patches take up the same amount of space but are much more powerful. Upgrading your medical bay also allows you to carry more patches, You start with a square of 3 x 3 and you end up with a square of 5 x 5. Which is a lot of patches. Some patches do take up more space that 1 slot tho. Eventually you will also unlock a research center where you can weaken 1 enemy type you have defeated before, You can also see a nice overview of all the enemy types here.

You start a run by talking to a guy who will take you down to the planet, It is like your average top down adventure game, You can attack, or hold it to do a charged attack with your hammer, You can also control Wingnut He can pull things out of the ground, Light things and suck up muck. Which will enable you to progress further in the game. You also have room for your weapons, but you need to unlock some blueprints first. You get these blueprints from specific buildings you can find one in each area, They give you a weapon you have to use trough the little puzzle like level and at the end you have to give it back and you will reverse engineer it into a blueprint. Then you can unlock the weapon or tool in the workshop on the airship.

Further there are Chests to open, Small ones appear randomly, Big ones only appear on certain map tiles and they remain opened once you opened them once. Then there are Widgets which are like little abilities you can consume, some heal you, attack around you, light the room, or even revive you when you die. These widgets are the only things you lose when you die, You will keep all Sparklite, Patches, and even all progress you made. There are also little side quests like a guy who wants to race you, some twins who seem to lose eachother every time and then there are the furnaces which are like little dungeons which contain some extra enemies to kill.

Graphics & Soundtrack 10/10
The game has a very nice and calm Soundtrack that really fits the area you are in, And Harmony surely knows how to put on a show together with the beats. The game also has beautiful graphics and each area manages to capture a unique atmosphere each with its own enemies and obstacles. I am not sure how they could have done better.

Performance & Support 9/10
The game runs perfectly, No stutters, crashes or anything of the sort. It ran at a very stable 120 fps the whole time. The devs are very down to earth people and willing to fix any bug you can throw at them. It should even run fine on a potato.

Endgame & Replayability 7/10
For a Roguelite it scores pretty low on replayability. Finishing the game will unlock Champion mode, But you won't be able to revisit bosses after you have beat them. With the final boss as the exception. Completing the game will leave a save just before the final boss, You won't even be able to open the bigger chests after you did this once already. There is a new game plus mode, the Champion mode, it will make enemies and especially bosses tougher and it will remove temples from the game. It will take all items you have except for your blueprints, And the rest of the game will be mostly the same. The map is not linear, Which is nice, But this also makes it easy to go anywhere within a minute.

Conclusion 8/10
The game is extremely polished, But for the price I would say it is lacking a bit in content, The store description is a bit off since it is not a roguelite, maybe I expected more because of this but it certainly is a wonderful game that offers a short casual experience with amazing pixel art suitable for all ages.

Metro Last Light is a linear story driven horror survival FPS with multiple endings, It has great graphics and some very tense gameplay, Customize your weapons and save the Metro from itself.

Story & Characters 9/10
The Story follows the adventures of Metro 2033, It is also based on a novel with the same name, People are still in the metro because of the invisible threat above ground. You play as the same protagonist from 2033, Artyom, Not much has changed, except for the shift of focus of enemies. I feel the mutants are less considered threats here, Surely you still need to kill them if they attack you, But in the last game they felt like the enemy, And here I feel other humans are the real enemy. The game like 2033 has multiple endings, So maybe that was just the impression the game gave me by the choices I made.

In the last game I did not feel any of the characters stood out or where particularly memorable but I do feel they improved on the NPC characters this time, there was more bonding and faces started to get familiar. Saying I care about their wellbeing is a bit over an overstatement, But it surely improved a lot and I was curious towards them to say the least. The rest of the game felt really similar to the last installment, But that is not a bad thing.

Gamemodes & Gameplay 8/10
There is no multiplayer at all, It is all single player, Mainly the story mode, There are some extra missions which are pretty cool, Chapter select is still there But you can not go back trough normal progress, It is a very linear game, You are rewarded for exploring but any door could close shut behind you. Your choices do matter and in my experience it is rather hard getting the good ending.

Like the previous game you can choose between Survival or Spartan for your run, Spartan is more head on with easier enemies and more ammo while Survival is a more sneaky way of playing where it is better to evade enemies. Then there is Ranger mode which makes the game a lot more realistic in terms of difficulity, 2 bullets will be the end, But enemies go down a lot easier too, If you really want a Survival experience I would recommend going with that. I played the game on Survival, But I went trough it as a Spartan, and I had tons of ammo to spare mostly.

The main story is a shooter with a very tense Horror like atmosphere, There are some parts you have to follow people around or stuff like that, but it did not feel like a chore at any point. There are also a lot of different "New Missions" these are like extra missions you can play and some are pretty cool, There are sniper missions but also wave missions, all kinds of cool stuff that you will enjoy if you like FPS games.

Graphics & Soundtrack 9/10
Like Metro 2033 The game looks beautiful, surely it is all Dark and Grimey, But it creates an incredibly tense atmosphere, The sounds really enhance this feeling. The pre rendered movies look horrible, They have very bad graphics and play in 30fps. It is like it was pre rendered using a microwave. Next to that everything looks great, especially considering the age of the game. I also love the design for some of the weapons, Like the Shotgun Revolver, Who thinks of insane weapons like that.

Performance & Support 7/10
The game runs really well, absolutely no crashes, glitches or bad behavior like that. Like Metro 2033 It does have some issues with Vsync, It works, but not always, Other times you can't turn it off, It is a bit strange, But it is not a huge issue, It also has bad mapping with the default kernel driver using an Xbox One controller, It works fine with Xpadneo, so if you play with a controller, use xpadneo.

Endgame & Replayability 8/10
I am a little dissapointed with the endgame, Like Metro 2033, The game is extremely linear, It is very easy to miss things. There is a chapter select, But it will overwrite your last savegame and you can not go back and clean up the achievements. The replayability is okay, Since it has multiple endings and multiple ways to play. There are also a lot of achievements that are easily missable, If you want to perfect the game it will certainly take you a while.

Conclusion 8/10
Overall, The game is very similar to Metro 2033, At least I see very few differences between the 2 Redux versions, So this review might sound very similar to the review of 2033. Just like that game it surely is a great game worth picking up, And a must have if you like anything related to FPS or Horror. It is a short but thrilling ride a very linear ride but how you ride it is completely up to you, Kill or Sneak. Good or Bad.

200 character summary
Overcooked 2 is an amazingly chaotic management game for up to 4 players, chop the ingredients and cook them as fast as possible for a nice tip, There are a ton of recipes and surprising kitchens.

Story & Characters 8/10
The story is set in The Onion Kingdom, The Onion King read from an old book and he summoned these undead loafs of bread called the Unbread, They are hungry and will consume the entire Kingdom if they are not fed in time. You play as one of the many available chefs and it is your job to feed the Unbread to save the world. The story plays out trough some dialogue from the king after certain stages, The story is nothing special, but it is a funny universe and it should give you a laugh or 2.

The Onion king his dog and all playable characters are extremely likable, They don't say much but they all look very funny, If you are a shark a mouse or something way crazier, It will have a friendly face. The enemies are a little disturbing but also quite funny, Undead loafs of Bread, It probably won't give you or your children nightmares.

Gamemodes & Gameplay 9/10
The game is mostly focused on multiplayer, Every single gamemode can be played with up to 4 players, Online, Local but also a mix of the 2. You also can play it solo, But you will control 2 chefs and have to switch between them to manage the kitchen. it is still the same game, A very chaotic experience, Coordinating with yourself is harder than it sounds.

There is the Story mode, which brings you to an overworld where you can launch levels, You start in 1-1 and before you can start 2-1 you have to visit the castle and talk to the Onion King. There are 6 worlds in the main campaign, and every world has 6 levels. There is a ton of DLC, some free and some paid which bring a bunch of new worlds, levels, chefs and recipes to the table. Only the host needs the DLCs, You can play along if you just own the game and are in a multiplayer game.

In the main Story you can also switch gamemodes, From Story which is the default, Practice which disables timers and Survival in which served meals add time to the timer. Next to the main Story mode there is Arcade mode, Which is just a random level from the main Story or one of the DLCs, It is a nice thing if you completed every single level with 4 stars. Then there is a Versus mode, In which 2 kitchens have to fight it out, It is always 2 versus 2, But you can play 1 vs 1 too by controlling 2 chefs.

The gameplay is extremely hectic, Raw ingredients need to be chopped, Cooked, Baked, Blended, Steamed. Grilled, and mostly they need multiple steps to prepare, Then you need to combine all the prepared ingredients on a plate and deliver it as fast as possible. There are more recipes than I can count, It starts easy, But things get complex pretty fast. Good teamwork is essential for getting all the stars.

Next to the obvious cooking you also have to wash the plates, make sure nothing burns, deliver the orders on time and make sure you don't mess up the ingredients. If you mess up a recipe you can throw it away, If it burns you have to grab the fire extinguisher and put out the fire before it spreads.

The levels are even crazier, There are kitchens with a road running trough it, People dancing in a Conga line, trough it, or even kitchens on a few floating rafts in the middle of a river. There are kitchens which have moving parts, switch positions, have portals, buttons and even cannons to reach out of reach platforms.

Graphics & Soundtrack 9/10
The graphics are adorable, It is simple but charming, Things you can interact will stay the same and are marked clearly. The decor is ever changing, You go to all kinds of restaurants, Indoor, Outdoor, On a river or high in the sky. The Soundtrack is very cosy and uplifting, But it gets tenser inside the levels as they progress, especially the last 30 seconds. It is a very nice fit, and each theme has its own soundtrack. Together it creates a very nice atmosphere that is fun and suitable for all ages.

Performance & Support 6/10
The game runs fine, There are just 2 things that bother me, First the game Crashes on controller connect, Which is especially awful for a multiplayer game. And secondly the Steam Cloud save is not working. Other than that the game runs very well I get a very nice 200-300 fps. Not a single problem next to the 2 forementioned things. The worst thing is that these are a long standing problems. And there doesn't seem to be any interest in actually fixing it.

Endgame & Replayability 10/10
After you complete the story and all the DLC with 3 stars you can fight it out in Versus mode where you have to compete together with someone or solo against another kitchen. There is also Arcade mode, This will just pick a random level from the Story and DLC. There is no random generation, A lot of DLC, but even after completing everything the game remains a lot of fun, The human factor is just so unpredictable and it causes some very chaotic and funny situations.

Conclusion 8/10
The game is fun but frustrating, Crazy and Chaotic. Blame your friends for burning the burgers, not preparing the mushrooms and throwing sushi on the road. It is a great game and certainly worth your money, Just be sure to backup your save files.

Alien Isolation is a nerve racking 1st person stealth horror game, Explore a huge space station, Complete tasks while remaining hidden from the Xenomorph, Craft tools to distract and try to survive.

Story & Characters 10/10
The year is 2137 You play as Amanda Ripley, Daughter of Ellen Ripley who went missing 15 years ago. The flight recorder from your mothers ship the Nostromo has been found and is currently being held at Sevastopol. You are being sent on the salvage mission with a small team aboard the Torrens to finally get some answers. Once you arrive you notice the ship seems damaged and is not communicating.

Since the ship is not communicating you and your team decide to spacewalk and use the manual override to enter the station, But tragedy hits and you barely make it alive inside, Now you will have to regroup, but you will soon find out the Nostromo Flight Recorder has been cleared and there is more on board than just humans and androids, It is a story full of anarchy and betrayal trying to survive in absolute fear.

The story is great, I love how it is a bit like a sequel to a movie trying to figure out what happened in the first movie. Ellen was ofcourse the last Survivor in Alien, a 1979 movie which took place 15 years before this games story. some DLC allows you to play as Ellen and play one of the last acts of the movie.

Gamemodes & Gameplay 10/10
The game is mainly focussed on the single player campaign, it is a Stealth Survival Horror game, You can Hide, In closets, Under tables, in the Vents, But don't run, Making noise will draw the alien right to your position, If he sees you and you don't have anything that can light him on fire you are dead, You might get extremely lucky, but 9 out of 10 times you are as good as dead, Especially on the harder difficulties.

The missions are mostly restore power here, grab this keycard, find this code in a terminal. It are pretty simple missions mostly, What makes it hard is finding the correct way and staying hidden while you do it, Sometimes objectives are clearly marked on the map, but sometimes it just displays a general area, But most of the times the map is not yet completely visible until after you been there.

Savepoints are a godsend, Seeing that strange emergency telephone device just makes you so happy, Just knowing you don't have to go trough the hell again you just went trough, And this is valid for at least 2/3rd of the game. It really is hell. Your most valuable tool is your motion detector, Notice Motion detector, It just detects motion, So if enemies stand still you can not see them on the detector. You can use it without worrying about the battery or anything. You also have a flashlight, This one will drain battery, But I would also recommend against using your flashlight because enemies will spot you.

You have access to several weapons. You get access to a Revolver, a Shotgun, a Stun Rod, a Flamethrower and a Bolt Gun, Using them will certainly attract the alien, And Ammo is very scarce anyway, So it might be wise to really safe up ammo for emergencies and the times you really need them.

There also are a lot of Craftables, You have Flares, Molotovs, Med kits, EMP mines, noisemakers and a whole lot more. I did not really use them a lot, but they certainly are damn handy, Just throw a noisemaker between human enemies and just watch how the alien kills them for you, Then just hide or throw a molotov on the alien to make him go away. EMP mines are extremely useful against androids, There are a few moments in the game where you have to deal with a lot of them, and they come in handy here.

If you own the DLC you get 2 small separate missions and also get a survival mode where you have to complete objectives without dying, These are very challenging don't have different difficulty levels and don't have any savepoints, The goal is pretty much the same, complete certain objectives while not dying, They are extremely challenging but get easier over time because they do not change. If you think you master them you can even play all of them in 1 run in a random order. The Survivor mode DLC are nice extras if you are really into the gameplay.

Graphics & Soundtrack 10/10
The game truly has Amazing graphics, And even better sound design, Somehow the sound knows how to raise the levels of fear even higher. The spaceship or at least the visual style looks exactly like it did in the movie, Everything from the walls, doors, ladders, but even the chairs, the toy birds and terminals. The game sadly has Pre rendered cutscenes which look a bit odd, I feel my hardware could do a better job in real time, But it is an older game ofcourse, I do think the game itself aged pretty well, The characters look a bit emotionless, Even when under these kinds of circumstances, But you don't see a lot of them. The Androids and especially the Alien look great.

Performance & Support 10/10
Runs like a dream, I got 120+ fps for most of the game with Absolutey 0 issues, Ofcourse it also has the top of the line support from Feral, I don't see what could go wrong here.

Endgame & Replayability 8/10
Endgame kinda sucks, Once you have beaten the game you can reload the last checkpoint and play the final part over and over again. You can load a mission save, But this will overwrite your progress. Collectables carry over between games tho. You can always start a new game on Nightmare but you will know what to do and where to go so it won't be the same thrilling experience as it was in your first playtrough, Survival mode does add a lot of new content but this is also not endless and just knowing what will happen is something that will come over time.

Conclusion 10/10
If you thought the movie was scary, This game will have you screaming on the inside, frustrated but paralysed by the terrifying gameplay, I do think it is a great experience that you should at least try if you don't have any heart problems, Yes it is scary, Yes you will probably hate the game, But you will love it at the same time. It is a unique experience and there is nothing quite like it.

Underhero is a very nice platformer, Unique due to the turn based combat with real time elements. It has a great story with a lot of secrets and suprises. The game also has a little comedic aspect.

Story & Characters 9/10
The story plays out trough dialogue, it is about a little masked underling who kills the hero by accident, When you get close to the body you hear a talking magical sword, When you pick it up the sword convinces you to keep the sword a secret, An NPC walks in and sees what has happend and can not wait to bring you to the boss; Mr. Stitches, He is happy with your performance and promotes you to bring some magical stones to the bosses.

Mr Stiches lets the princess go because she was just bait for the hero, But that won't be the last you see of her, The story gets very complex at a certain point, You might break some dimensions but they don't break the 4th wall, There is a lot to do and you will meet a lot of funny characters, Can you save the mysteries, but most importantly, can you bring back Taco Tuesday? The game really blurs the lines between good and evil, and the story is very well done.

The characters have a lot of charm, the main characters are all pretty unique and have quite a backstory, Surely there are generic enemies like yourself, and the game even makes fun of it. Everything makes sense towards the end. You yourself don't talk a lot, But your sword Elizabeth the 4th talks for you, She is one tough negociator. You will meet a skitzophrenic moth, But I especially like Mr Stitches, I think he is portrayed amazingly.

Gamemodes & Gameplay 9/10
The game is mostly platforming and Turn based combat with real time elements. The story plays out trough dialogs, and there are a lot of puzzles to solve. You will also be quizzed in a recurring gameshow where you can earn some extra money if you paid any attention to the story. You can go back to most areas, but some parts will remain closed after you have been there, So it can be easy to miss some optional upgrades or casettes.

The game works with a overworld which takes you to the different worlds, There are 5 worlds excluding the overworld, They are all very different in terms of gameplay, looks and most things. You spend most of your time jumping around to look for all the chests, These can contain upgrades, music casettes, coins and a lot more. You don't have a map, but there are public map signs which you can use and are pretty detailed,

Attacking is like Paper Mario, It is turn based but you can jump, shield and duck to counter or avoid attacks, You have several options for attacking, You have a Sword, Hammer, Slingshot, Shield and a rage ability which needs to charge. Blocking at exactly the right time will cause a parry and will stun enemies or send projectiles back. Attacking costs stamina and stamina refills over time, Stronger attacks tend to cost more and are a lot slower.

Boss battles combine these battles with platforming, moments where you can't attack the enemy and just have to evade attacks. The mix between real time and turn based combat makes it quite unique, especially on PC, Saving is done at special savepoints, and you can carry potions to heal yourself in or out of battle.

Graphics & Soundtrack 8/10
The game has a very nice soundtrack, And also some very nice pixel art. I do feel there are different styles used in the game, Like some things have an outline and others don't, And While I love the uniqueness of most of the characters, some feel a bit cheap, Like taking a main character make it grayscale and implement it as a different main character, I feel little things like these could have been done better. All levels look great tho, Each world looks unique and alive.

Performance & Support 7/10
The game runs fine at 60fps, but don't enable vsync if your monitor has a higher refresh rate, It has this strange issue where it refuses to jump from time to time when running above 60fps, The Underhero makes the jumping sound and you see the little clouds, only he doesn't jump he just stands there, And this makes platforming very annoying. It also introduces some other bugs, So on 120fps it does not run great, Luckily you can just disable vsync and play the game normally. Steam Cloud save is not working on Linux, But I had no further issues whatsoever.

Endgame & Replayability 7/10
Sadly there is not much to do endgame, I was missing a single casette and 1 weapon upgrade when I completed the game, I do explore a lot, trying to find stuff, I later found out some areas are restricted after you played trough them and this creates some missable achievements. Completing the main game will set you back to the main menu, and reloading your save will put you in front of the final boss. There is no New game + or Endgame gameplay. I think a new game + with a harder difficulity level would have been a great improvement.

Conclusion 8/10
Underhero is a great game, an absolute must have for Paper Mario fans, It is funny, but still has a moving story that will blur the lines between good and evil. It has some rather unique gameplay and is certainly worth the asking price.

Absolute Drift is a very nice top down drifting game, There is no AI, but the game offers a lot of challenges in free roam or the many pre made tracks. It is all pure drifting in your favorite car.

Gamemodes & Gameplay 9/10
This game is all about becoming a Drift Master with a top down perspective in a very simplistic and colorles 3D world, It is a lot of fun just drfting around, But the game also offers overs a lot under the hood like Free Roam, Events, Missions, Challenges, Different cars and a Leaderboard. The game offers multiple difficulity levels and you can even enable manual shifting.

Free roam is the main gamemode, You can explore a pretty large open world which opens up a bit more every time you complete all missions in that world, Missions are pretty easy objectives like find cubes or jump over something. There are 6 worlds to explore, Around these worlds you can find 30 different events, and most of them offer 5 challenges. You start them by driving into the buildings. These challenges are mostly score X points, do this X amount of times, do not crash, etc.

The events are very different, There are basic tutorial tracks, Drifting tracks with square corners, round corners, But even mountain drifting, Timed Playground maps where you are free create your own route to generate points and Midnight stages which will be drifting in the dark. If you don't like to explore or look for the event you want to play you can also launch all 30 events from the main menu. These are linked, so you don't have to complete everything twice.

The game has Leaderboards for everything, 6 different cars, with selectable colors and a few optional graphics, There is a BMW M3, Toyota Supra, Mazda RX7, A Station Wagen, A van and a different car I can not quite make out. They all drift in a very unique way, You really have to learn to drift, and then learn to drift with the different cars. The controls are very nice, but it can be hard playing with the gas, and a steering mistake is easily made. It is hard, but very rewarding.

Scoring works trough a lot of different things, You score points by drifting ofcourse, The longer you drift the bigger the multiplier gets there is a small time delay before your combo breaks, so you can combine drifts to increase your score, You score extra points by breaking red walls or cubes or hitting hanging red punching bags. You also score extra points by drifting close around the clipping points in corners. Crashing will end your current combo and give you the points.

Graphics & Soundtrack 8/10
The game has rather Simple graphics, The few things that stand out are your car, bonus objectives and your skidmarks, Especially the latter one with some pretty cool smoke effects and a very clear drifting path. The all white really makes color stand out when you encounter it, There is a little red and blue is extremely rare. Mostly you can interact with these colors, but it is also used to decorate buildings from time to time. It is very minimalistic, without distractions. The game has Very suiting drum n bass music, perfect for trying to master a few tracks.

Performance & Support 8/10
The game runs fine, it is locked at 200 fps for some reason, But I saw absolutely no dips, You can enable Vsync if you prefer to give your GPU a break, I had no crashes, stutters or any negative experience.

Endgame & Replayability 8/10
Endgame you can clean up the game, complete all challenges, and after that you can try and set better records, It is pretty cool, Getting all achievements should take you a while, And even after that it is still nice to launch the game and mess around a bit. There won't be any real goals left, Surely you can aim for the leaderboards, but it will be just replaying the same events over and over again.

Conclusion 8/10
Absolute Drift is a very nice drifting game, It is a cool exploring game for the casual gamer and a insanely challenging perfect run game for the completionist, All with drifting at the center of it all. It is a very relaxing experience even if failing can be frustrating, Reaching some of the goals feels like a real accomplishment. I found it to be a very satisfying experience.

A short hike is a very short but relaxing exploring game with a unique pixelated 3D look. Find golden feathers to fly and climb higher, Glide around, solve the little quests and find all the treasure.

Story & Characters 8/10
You play as a little bird named Claire, You start the story in the car, Here there is some talk about the destination a summer vacation camping with your aunt, And that you are almost at the ferry, When the small intro ends you gain control and are already on the island only to find out you have no cellphone reception. Your aunt mentions that there might be some reception at Hawk Peak, It is also a wonderfull place to see. You can now freely explore the island and meet the many npcs.

Claire seems a bit tech addicted, but learns that she also loves the outdoors over the course of the game, All characters in the game are very nice, They don't have a deep personality or something, The game is primarily about exploring the beautiful island. All of them have something to say, and most of them want something from you.

Gamemodes & Gameplay 9/10
The game is single player only and 90% Exploring the island looking for all kinds of things, From Seashells and chests to feathers and money giving rocks. You have pretty great controls, You can jump, and jump in air by flapping your wings, You can climb, run and best of all glide, dive and go fast. Once you get the hang of it you can go around the entire island within a minute, Used feathers will regain on the ground and going to high will freeze used feathers untill you get warm again.

During the game you will find Golden Feathers, There are 20 of them, Each Golden feather gives you an extra mid air flap and they also allow you to climb higher. Silver Feathers will make each flap more powerful and will make you climb faster, There are only 2 of these, Having all 22 feathers will make you very fast and agile but especially make you gain height extremely quickly.

The game has little missions or quests from the NPCs, There are quite a few of them, But they mostly are pretty simple, Like find certain items, or just talk to them, Some require you to race them or play a game of beachstickball. all quests except for the last 2 are in the same relaxing style, Do them whenever you see fit, Some of them do give pretty nice and sometimes even much needed rewards.

There are a few things to do in the game next to exploring and doing these little missions, Some NPCs sell stuff like feathers or hats. You can also go Fishing, There are a total of 22 fishes to catch, The island is filled with treasure chests, scattered coins, Digging spots, shortcuts and magic coin giving rocks.

Graphics & Soundtrack 9/10
The game has a unique pixelated effect, It are not voxels but it is a normal 3D game with a pixelated filter over it and it looks pretty cool, You can turn it off if you do not like it for some reason, The game also has a nice soundtrack that fits the overall relaxing atmosphere, The game looks great, The artstyle is beautiful even if you turn of the pixel filter, See the northeren lights and make long glides back to the bottom while enjoying the scenery.

Performance & Support 8/10
The game runs fine it keeps over 120fps mostly, There are some area shifts where the game drops down to zero for a tenth of a second, This does not always happen, But it does always happen at the same place. It is not really a problem tho, The game has no cloud save, But it may not be that important, You can complete the game in a few hours and once you completed the game, and restart the game after a few years and lost your save it will be more fun to just start over.

Endgame & Replayability 7/10
The game does not have a great replay value, It is short, the game can be completed 100% within a few hours, After this you can wonder around, but I think it will be more boring than relaxing if I have to be honest. Surely it is a great experience, and completing the game once or twice is a great experience, But the element of suprise is gone, You know the secrets, what to do and how to do it, where to find everything. It will get easier and easier, But it might be a nice game for speedrunners.

Conclusion 8/10
A Short Hike is a great relaxing exploring game that looks stunning, It is great for those days you don't really feel like doing anything, Take it easy and just enjoy the scenery, No enemies, no timers, Just explore the island in your own pace, Or just play Beachstickball all day.

Assault Android Cactus is an amazing twin stick shooter with a lot of charm, 9 unique playable characters, 4 player sharescreen multiplayer, a ton of gamemodes and even a first person perspective.

Story & Characters 9/10
The story begins with Cactus a interplanetary police android who responding to an sos message from the Genki Star Freighter, When nearing the ship she finds out the asteroid defense system has gone rogue and is firing lasers at her. She goes against her last minute orders because she doesn't want to fill out a mission failed report. She crashes trough the ship where she meets Holly, Lemon and Coral 3 different androids that also operate independently of the ship. They explain that the Ship core has corrupted and all worker bots are controlled by it. It is up to these four heroines to save the ship.

The story plays out trough funny pre rendered cutscenes, It might be a bit cheesy, But I found them enjoyable, You can review them any time from the menu. There is also a lot of lore, like information about all characters, enemies, planets, and even a lot of artwork. The game has amazing characters, They all have their own unique charm, They all have different weapons and completely different playstyles, They are very likeable and are even fully voiced.

Gamemodes & Gameplay 10/10
The game has a ton of gamemodes, There is the Campaign which takes you trough 5 levels with each 5 stages and a boss. After you completed it you will unlock Campaign+ which will just make this harder You will also unlock Boss Rush where you can try to kill all 5 bosses in succession, Infinity Drive is like an endless? gamemode I have not made it past level 20 sadly, The enemies get tougher and tougher, and you will die sooner or later. Then there is a Daily run mode which will have a new challenge daily.

The stages are everchanging, They transform and change a lot while you are crushing the hostile robots, The floor could start moving, walls can appear or the whole stage can just crash down to a lower platform. Some stages are arenas, some are more paths you have to walk but they all feel unique in their own way. The stages change the same way in infinity drive.

Every character has their own different weapons, You won't find the same weapon twice. This really changes the complete playstyle, I prefer Cactus with her Machine Gun and Flamethrower, But every weapon has their pros and cons. You switch weapons by pressing a button, While you do this you also hop for a second, which you can use to avoid projectiles. The secondary weapons does a lot more damage than your primary weapon but it has a cooldown, Your primary weapon has no reload, no cooldown, just shoot don't think about it.

The androids work on batteries, And if your battery runs out you will power down. So to finish the stages you need to clear the enemies fast, Each wave drops a battery and every second counts. The bosses have stages, each stage will drop a battery and the boss will transform, change attack patterns and get tougher with every stage.

In the game you pick up credits, They are little white balls that will fly towards you if you come close. In the menu there are a few menus where you can buy stuff with these credits, Like Art, Lore and even game modifications. You can face a 4 player army all by yourself, Make the game a first person shooter, enable AI to help you, change your secondary weapon, Rubber music and a lot more. Some of these modifications will disable high scores tho.

Graphics & Soundtrack 10/10
The game is extremely polished, It looks amazing, All characters and enemies have so much detail, The stages are all unique and everything is perfectly animated. The game has an amazing soundtrack, It is very electronic and it fits the game just perfect, I especially like the game over screen music, Pretty cool detail.

Performance & Support 10/10
The game runs at a very nice framerate, Even if the screen gets overloaded with projectiles the FPS won't drop that bad, I have not seen it drop below 200 fps, And it mostly sits around a nice 300. The game runs like a champ, Cloud save is working and the game has some top notch support, even almost 5 years after release.

Endgame & Replayability 10/10
This game is replayable until infinity, You can always try to break your highscores, All playable characters have a unique playstyle, and if you really want to complete this game it is going to take you hundreds of hours, Getting an S+ rank on every level, then do the same in campaign+ and then you can do the same for all 8 other characters. Surely the levels don't change, but the challenge remains. Then there is boss rush, and ofcourse the Infinity Drive and Daily Challenges. Not even to begin about the different perspectives or Multiplayer.

Conclusion 10/10
Assault Android Cactus is an extremely well polished twin stick shooter for up to 4 players locally. The campaign is fairly short, but it is filled with content, It surely is one of the best twin stick shooters ever made. An absolute must have.

Kindergarten is a short puzzle exploration game where your goal is to collect all the Monstermon cards and discover all the secrets, Use your apples wisely and try to survive psychotic kindergarten.

Story & Characters 8/10
You play as a student in kindergarten, It is your average kindergarten, with psychotic faculty and classmates that are too young to be classified as such. A lot of stuff is going on, Students go missing, And talking too much will get you killed, with a mop a gun or any of the countless of ways to die. Surely it is not a serious story, But it is a funny experience and you should get some laughs out of it.

The characters in the game are done nicely, You yourself are very down to earth, But your classmates are all extreme versions of certain personalities, There is the bully who will just kill you, The girl who takes playing house very seriously, The guy who is too cool to hang out with you and a bunch more. The teacher would love to just take a pill and relax all day, And the Janitor would kill you just to prove a point.

Gamemodes & Gameplay 8/10
The game has only 1 gamemode you start the day in your home, Here you can view your collectables and Monstermoncards, You can easily see if you miss a few, Collecting every Monstermon card is the main goal of the game, These cards are everywhere in the school, The game works in a you repeat the same day over and over again kind of way like Mars Underground, You can walk around and talk to people, but saying the wrong thing can easily get you killed, If you die you can restart the room again or return home, but you will not take any of the cash home with you in this case.

To get anywhere you need to be smart about it. When you leave your house you start in front of the school with a few apples, Performing certain tasks will cost you an apple and if all your apples are gone the bell will ring and you will go to the next area, Every area works the same. After the pre school area you get Class, Lunch, Recess, and finally Show and Tell. Each area is filled with different things to do, There are a lot of storylines you need to complete to earn certain Monstermon cards, Be Cindy's boyfriend, Be Nuggets only friend, Be a real businessboy or just kill all your classmates in their own unique way.

Surely there are more areas like the principles office the bathroom and some other dark places, And these all play in a storyline, but you won't go to them every run. The game is pretty short, I bet you can beat it in a minute by just eating all apples and get something for Show and Tell. But to collect all cards you need to actually complete some storylines, figure out how to get cards that are plain in sight. The game is a lot of puzzling and making sure you spend your apples right, Sometimes you just need cash or certain key items to trigger new events.

The game is mostly dialogue, It certainly is not a platformer, More a rude and crude, sometimes redicilous puzzle game where you happen to be able to walk around, But it could have been a clicker, all you do is walk to talk to people or interact with items. To get certain things to work out you need to make the right move every step of the day, And the game is not always great at helping you, There are hints, but these are very generic. Luckily everything is visible in one screen, so your options are somewhat limited so it is certainly not an impossible task, At least I got all cards with relative ease.

Graphics & Soundtrack 8/10
The graphics are alright, It is a pixel style but some things feel a bit out of context, like the apples seem to have a higher resolution for example, Animations are a bit crude, All NPCs just bounce in a funny way, and your walking animation is a bit simple, So is the soundtrack, It does fit the rude and funny style of the game very well. There is a lot of blood, But it makes more fun of it than it is shocking. I do like it, It feels very original.

Performance & Support 8/10
The game runs fine, it is locked to your screen refresh rate, I did notice a few spots where the game could hang in a certain dialogue, but I could just restart the area and perform a few simple tasks with ease. There is no Steam Cloud save tho So it is not great if you want to continue on a different system, But the gameplay is pretty short with nothing to do endgame, so it is less important.

Endgame & Replayability 7/10
Surely you repeat the same day over and over again but once you collected all cards and you are endgame there is nothing left to do, You will have seen everything and done everything, This game is not meant to be played over and over again. The game is about the laughs, but there will be no suprises on your second playtrough.

Conclusion 8/10
The game is very enjoyable, But it might have a niche audience, It is mainly focussed on rude humor and a lot of gore with simple animations, It is funny in some ways, I would certainly recommend it, Cindy could be a meme in my opinion. It is a nice and suprising little distraction that can be enjoyed and be put away after you completed it.
