It's a good game. Is it better than Nioh 2? If we compare base games, yes. If compared to Nioh 2 Complete Edition, no.

While the shift to large open world type maps is a welcome change, the level design feels less inspired.
Everything looks like it just exploded five minutes ago and there's a lack of visual contrast. Chaos everywhere is not good Art Direction.

Level design is also made worse by the overuse of platforming. Falling to your death often feels cheap rather than skill based. It just isn't tight enough to be used that much. Which creates a disconect between the good combat and the bad traversal.

This also has an impact on the good combat system since enemies keep getting too close to edges and either make you fall, or fall themselves to their death. It can get frustrating and disrupts the rhythm.

Too much handholding over exploration. You basically can't miss a single thing here. And once a map has all its boxes checked, there's no reason to go back to it. A similar system do Dark Souls 2 would have been welcome, where locations difficulty upgrades after being completed. Oh well, there's always NG+.

Not nearly enough side missions. Not enough Guardian Spirits. Game feels weirdly short.

Repetitive combat music. Not bad, but not memorable neither. Functional I guess.

Why is the game SO DARK? There's times, you just don't see a damn thing. Having to tweak gamma beyond intended calibration feels wrong.

And of course, the usual performance issues. Now, my system isn't high end, so I will not add too much on this. But there's better looking games that run smoother on my system and are less glitchy.

DLC's will most probably fix a number of the above issues. And I'm still giving this an 8/10. It just could have been way better.

Fog rolls in like forgotten memories,
Hiding the truth you thought you knew.
Footsteps echo on pavement cracked,
Each step heavier, more haunted.

A town once familiar, now a mirror of guilt,
Where shadows are not just shadows,
And every turn brings you closer,
Not to the end, but to yourself.

Do you remember why you came?
No, not at first.
But in Silent Hill, nothing stays hidden forever...
Not the past, not the pain,
Not the things you tried to forget.

One of the most clever games I have ever experienced.

It can be as easy as completing Link's Awakening. If you only want the bad ending.
Or as complex as Riven. If you want the good ending.

Simply fantastic.

Good game. Sneaky Epic store requirement. Will change review IF Epic store requirement removed. Also, AMD systems seem to experience alot of crashes.

Take some Metroid Prime, add a little bit of Nier: Automata, and mix the whole thing with Edge of Tomorrow. Win.

Play this game for what it is, not "what it could have been".

Most bad reviews on this soft come from angry people that didn't get what they wanted, and were promised by one single person, and they have the right to be angry.
The biggest mistake Hello Games made was to think using a "Peter Molyneux" approach to marketing would be a good idea.

You have on one side a list of features that were promised but didn't end up in the full game and on the other side a game that is fully playable for hundreds of hours and still being updated by developers trying to repair the damage Sean Murray inflicted to them.

This game offers a nice and relaxing exploration experience. It is NOT an action game. It is NOT a multiplayer experience. It is NOT the best game ever. But it certainly doesn't deserve the hate it has gotten. The review statistics speak for themselves as the rage is settling down.

EDIT: It now IS a proper multiplayer game after the NEXT update!
