All of us know how long we had to wait for this game to come out, we know all the memes and we know the excitement that installed when this game was announced and later on a trailer shown to the world.
I could be here spending hours and hours describing this game and what it means to me to finally played a new Half Life game after 13 years of waiting and believing that some day a new Half-Life game would rise but I will spare you from that.
Just like the transition from Half-Life to Half-Life 2 was different but yet familiar, Half-Life Alyx follows the very same path from Half-Life 2 and its 2 episodes. In my case and many others, this game was the reason why so many of us bought a VR headset. Was it worth it? Absolutely. Half Life Alyx doesn't revolutionise gaming the same way Half-Life and Half-Life 2 did, but it pushes the VR media to another level, and for someone like me that didn't really care much for VR, this game opened up a whole new perspective into what gaming can be. Unfortunately for many of you. you might have watched the gameplay on a youtube video or some sort of live stream, and even tho it might look impressive, it's no where near the same experience compared to playing the actual game in VR. You have to experience it to believe it.

Visual's are so impressive it looks photo-realistic in so many moments, the level of immersion get's to a point where you try to use elements in the game as if they were right there in front of you. I found my self countless times looking under a bed or a table and trying to put my hand on top to support me when I wanted to get up from crouching. The scenery in the game is so beautiful that at times I even felt inclined to pull up a chair in real life while drinking a beverage and admiring what essentially is paradise in VR.
From sound, to mechanics, to story telling and to visuals it's hard to put a finger on what flaws the game might have. This game is a masterpiece and there is no denying that. Regardless of what your criteria of what a game should be, it's nearly impossible to disagree with the perfomance and quality that Valve delivers with their products is the best in the industry.

To conclude, it was worth amount of money I spent on a VR headset, it was worth believing and waiting 13 years for this game to come out. I personally can't wait for what comes next in the Half-Life universe.

Thank you Valve, but please, don't make us wait another 13 years. We can only get older.
