The story is great, the world is beautiful, the action is... uhh... acceptable.

The game might be the slowest paced game i've ever played. the 5-10 minute horse back rides from location to location are brutally boring to sit through. However, the games voice acting and story are pretty top notch, I have to admit I couldn't stop talking like a cowboy for a solid week or so there.

I don't really care for the huge open world stuff like this so i skipped a lot of the cowboy simulator stuff and just stuck to the main missions but still it was a pretty enjoyable experience

Constantly locked camera angles, animation locks with constantly restrictive movement, and terrible draw distance keep this game from being great.

Its not bad, but its just not worth your time, also the end of the DLC which is the true ending has a MAJOR difficulty spike and forces you to do terribly implemented perfect parry's, was a mostly ok experience until it became a frustrating slog.

maybe this is good as a single player experience for the combat but honestly the wonky camera angles are terrible for a non-online co-op game, the second players experience is majorly tarnished by it, not to mention buggy stuff. we got to the second stage and fell off the cliff and it just spawned us over a hole where we just fell to our death 9 times in a row forcing us to restart the stage, very frustrating for what seems like a decent experience of a game.

Also the acting and storyline feel like its intended for a childrens cartoon, maybe kids enjoy this but i honestly found the dialogue and story too intrusive and way overstayed its welcome.

and lastly, for a music and rhythm game, there's really no rhythmic part to the players input, it really does kinda feel like a basic hack and slash, very disapointing since it looked like a very fun game but sadly i cannot recommend especially as a co-op experience

I really wish I did like it, it feels like its so close to being something i'd enjoy but I kept either finding myself irritated with the platforming or the combat. Maybe it might not bother you as much as it did me. Overall its not bad, but just not something great or worth your time.

Crashes Constantly if you have a 64 bit system. I've seen people say there's a fix if you use a 3rd party software to increase the amount of ram it can use, and disable 8 cores on processors in order to play this without constant crashes but honestly i can't be asked. So until its fixed, its a no go for me.

I enjoyed the story. The combat and new monster types are pretty solid and fun to fight against. I think overall if you enjoy the first, you'll enjoy this. As the same type of thing with the first, the side quests and extra content isn't quite as good as the main story and events, and there is quite a lot of it.

As much as I don't take my own advice on this, I definitely recommend the game but not doing ALL the side content unless you're really just enjoying it and need more. But the main story is highly recommended.

Also ultra difficult is in fact ultra difficult and I was getting 1-2 shot by almost everything until WAY WAY later (about 80 hours into my 120 hours of play through) and then i finally got a higher level (more hp) and some solid armor and now after spending hours upgrading my armor, i can FINALLY sustain a few hits before dying. Despite that there's still a few big hits that can end me still regardless, and to top it off some fights can last a fairly long time (10 minutes or more) with the super inflated health pools, just to be ended by a mistep.

If you're a challenge seeker (or just too stubborn like me to try and play on anything but the hardest difficulty) you've been warned. However for the rest of you, this is a great experience, very fun, recommend sticking to the main story and keep it at a medium difficulty so you don't NEED to get the best gear and spend a lot of time upgrading it, you should probably finish the game in 30-40 hours rather than the 120 it took me, I think most of you will be happy with that experience.

Things consstance does right.

Art, Animation, Music. the standard gameplay is fun (except it really felt like i shoulda had some sort of basic upwards/down attack but whatever i guess). Also the Snap shot system to save a picture in a room as a reminder was awesome, i wish i had more of a reason to use it more tho.

Things constance gets ok.

Exploration and game length - game is kinda short, took about 7 hours to finish the game, went around and got some collectables and such afterwards, probably bout 9 hours to 100%.
Maybe not a problem for some, I think its worth the $20 price tag, but I could understand waiting on a sale if that feels a bit short.

Platforming is mostly solid, only a few kind of challenging sections, there's a few interesting gimmicky platforming tools and upgrades you get, but ultimately i didn't think anything was amazing nor was it bad or did it wear out its welcome.

Systems feel ok, the inspirations page felt kinda neat, but i felt like there should've been some sort of upgrade system for attacks.

The story, while i didn't hate, felt very unsatisfactory, it had some interesting points, but it kinda beats you over the head with a theme, and then there's no character growth or real resolution that feels satisfying. Maybe that's the point? that life isn't always just easy? But it felt like I got a "bad ending" and as far as I can tell there doesn't seem to be a good one?

Difficulty is kinda all over the place. some early bosses felt like huge spikes in difficulty while some later ones felt really easy. Granted once you get past the 2nd zone the game really opens up to be non linear. Either way it felt inconsistent, with the final boss while he was a fairly cool fight, I felt it was really easy and a bit unsatisfactory personally.

Things Constance does wrong

Not too much to be honest. Besides it being a bit on the short side and the ending feel super unsatisfactory, I didn't have too many huge issues with it.

Overall

Solid 8/10 for me. I wanted to like it more, especially the great artwork and fun combat, but other issues drag it down just a notch and its unfortunate.

I'm very middle of the road on this game. and maybe i'll revisit it later. but my initial playthrough as a mage class left a lot to be desired. The special abilities felt overly clunky and slow to use, and the class synergy between mage and other classes felt completely absent. Overall I think it may have just been a bad class choice to play, and maybe other classes would have had me feel better. But even then, I tried to play the game without a guide, and of course got the bad ending, and while i know this is a typical souls-like thing to do, having the good ending locked behind some other choices or whatever, usually that doesn't lock you out of several end game boss fights and you still get mostly the full experience. from what i can tell I'm missing out on several end game features and some big story plot points unless i replay the entire game, and while its not that long of a game (11 hours for my playthrough) I kinda struggled to finish the game with the mage just cuz it really was kinda boring and clunky to play as, literally falling asleep playing it. Anyway, I will put this game on the sideline, and maybe revist after looking at other classes to see which ones might feel like a better end game choice

I heard the game had some wild difficulty issues at launch, but playing it in 2025, it seems fine to me while playing though the game on master difficulty. hard but not absurd, some cheap shots will get you here and there. sometimes you just don't get invincibility frames and get combo'd. it is what it is.

overall i think it was a good experience but I can agree to some of the points that other people made.

1. i did have a few bugs occur, none that broke the game or ruined it, but had to restart once or twice, and i had 2 bosses get animation locked and just stood still until i either phased or killed them. But overall not too many bugs.

2. the length of the game isn't that absurd imo. 26 hours for me to 100% and clear on master mode. But i will say that several zones (dungeons) are significantly longer than they probably need to be. It feels like you'll spend about 70-80% of your playtime in the dungeons zones.

3. the story is ok. doesn't ever quite feel truly satisfying though, especially when you get some lore dumps later on, it gives you more questions than answers and never ties up those ends imo. doesn't ruin it but i can see people who care about that not really vibing with it

4. combat feels pretty solid overall i'd give it like 8/10 for the feel. sometimes its a visual mess with a bunch of the elemental effects tho, and it can be hard to see the attack patterns. that and it really feels laggy, when you're hitting a bunch of enemies, feels like sometimes inputs get delayed or something, its noticible but doesn't ruin it, bosses are massive hp sponges. Enemy gauntlets at the start are like... 2-3 enemies, and then later on they feel like they last 25 waves, with one later gauntlet that probably takes 25-30 minutes, its a bit crazy.

5. Money feels super rare in the first 50% of the game, and then the second half you have more than you'll ever need to spend on things.

Overall still a solid game, I definitely enjoyed my time with it despite some very weird issues and flaws.

Great visuals, and maybe there's some fun in there later, but the intro to this game is just awful.

I played for about 3 hours and i swear to you about 2+ hours of that was just running around and cut scenes. If you're looking for something super narrative heavy ( its story felt to me like fairly basic standard high fantasy), then maybe you can tolerate it. But that combined with tons of obfuscating mobile game systems a ton of different currencies and then the main story quest got randomly time gated so i couldn't progress until i waited like 12 hours was just silly as hell.

I just wanted a reason to experience the combat system but I was already very much out of patience, and then it seemed like the main thing to do outside of the main story was hunt like 100 x of extremely easy to kill monsters.

Combat was... ok. Its action packed and again, I didn't really put in a lot of time or mess with a bunch of classes. but you start off with like 6 skills right off the bat and at least on my class there wasn't like... a real good rhythm to the class.
Just spam abilities on CD, basic attack when they're off cd. Like it just didn't feel good. Tera and Blade and soul both did action combat better 14 years ago. Its crazy to me that we've regressed so far in the name of making things mobile accessible? I don't get it. And then I saw that auto battle was an option, let the game play for you. Nah. I'm good on this game. Maybe its for others, but not for me
