Vacation!

We made a trip to Atlanta, Georgia and Booneville, Mississippi these last 2 weeks. My mom is from Mississippi and so we visited all my family there, and Steve served his mission for the LDS church in Atlanta, so we made a trip to see where he lived for 2 years! There are a lot of pictures, because I liked a lot and couldn't pick and choose. We drove for 2 days in a van with Brit's parents, and Brit's sister Emily and brother Gabe to get to MS. Then we rented a car to travel for a couple days to Atlanta. The driving days were long days for TJ, but he was a real trooper and did really well for so many days driving! We had a really fun time and it was fun to have 2 weeks off!

DOWNTOWN ATLANTA:

We took a tour of the Atlanta Coke center while we were down there.
At the end of the tour they let you taste all sorts of drinks they sell around the world, plus, the classic Coke of course!

Just some cute pics of TJ in the Coke center

We also were able to spend some time with some wonderful families that Steve baptized on his mission! The Hawkins were wonderful and treated us to a yummy breakfast of grits, eggs, bacon, and smoothies! Not to mention letting us spend the night at their house! They are such a nice family!
The crew that drove to GA: Gabe, Brittany, Steve, TJ, and Emily
We also got to spend time with the Lackeys! They made us a delicious dinner when we were there. We had a nice time visiting them!
The car we rented...it had to be big to fit all 5 of us with our luggage. :)

Steve has talked about this restaurant endlessly since he came home from his mission (Zaxby's). The only place we've seen it is in Georgia though. So I was happy to finally taste the "kicken chicken sandwich" that I have heard so much about. It was tasty!

BOONEVILLE, MISSISSIPPI:
My family stopped to help my uncle pick some peas in their large garden...it was hot & humid this day! I totally love TJ's face in this picture below.
This is my mom's sister Joyce and my cousin Anthony w/TJ. I lived with Joyce when I stayed there for the summer 5 years ago. She is great!
We went shopping one day in Tupelo, MS (Elvis was born in that city, fyi). This pic is of: Aunt Judith, Emily, Brittany, & TJ. We stayed at Judith's house for quite a few nights & we really appreciated their hospitality & many meals!

Some pics I liked of TJ and Emily

This is the house my mom was raised in when she grew up. (Judith and my mom Bonnie in front)

At a family reunion: TJ, Emily, Marleah, and Kristina (cousins)

We went to a restaurant called the Catfish Hotel, it sits on the Tennessee River. It is near Shiloh, TN where the battle of Shiloh took place.

Yummy fried southern catfish! This is some tasty fish. Even if you don't like fish, I would recommend trying this at least once in your life. :) Its not that "fishy" tasting.

TJ wanted to eat the rocks in the Tennessee River.
Oh, and last but not least, we got to go swimming a few times in the pool where we stayed! TJ enjoyed it, and I enjoyed the day afterwards, because he had a 3 1/2 hour nap after we got done swimming!
