Blast From The Past!

Over on Dottie's World on Sunday Lou set the weekly challenge and said:

"This week I want you to look through your photos of cards you've made in the past, find one you really like then recreate it using the exact same layout but with different papers and embellishments! Of course there must be a Charmed download image in there too!

When you've finished, put both cards on your blog so we can look at old and new together and leave a comment here so we can go for a look."

I trawled through my blog to see what caught my eye and several did. But I decided to go with this one, so here's the past and present versions of my card .

the past

the present

Why not have a look at your past cards and see what you could re-create using a Lou download? All entries receive a FREE Cowgirl Holly image too!

Thanks for looking.
Take care, love and hugs

Christmas at Crafty Muse

It's Christmas time at Crafty Muse and your challenge this week is to make a Christmas Card. If you do, you will be entered into the draw to win a pre-release stamp. If you use one of Sammi's downloads on your card (available to buy on the site), you will be entered twice. Here's my card for some inspiration:

At this time of the year, children change their minds so often about what they'd like, so I used that theme for my card. It's Christmas eve and the lad is e-mailing Santa with an updated list! Hmmm.......... I don't think Santa is quite able to perform that miracle unless he knew it was coming LOL

I printed the images and sentiment directly onto the card and watercoloured them using my brush markers. Images used are ~ comp boy and the yet to be available tree with fairy and the present. Keep an eye on the blog as Sammi's giving some Christmas images away next week.

Thanks for looking

Take care and stay safe in this frosty and snowy weather

Love and hugs

Card Box

I finally decided what to do for my step-mum-in-law's birthday. I made this box and filled it with a mix of cards I'd made. Ellison Tootsie alphabet was used for the wording on pearlised lilac paper and the flowers are made of handmade paper. The detailing on the box is embossed and chalked in purple.

Thanks for looking. Take care until we meet again. Luv 'n' hugs as always xx

Bit Late, But Here's Monday

I went to an appointment to see if I could get JobSeeker's allowance. Looks like I can which will be great. A job would be better, but this will help in the mean time.

While I was out, I got Lucy's present for Sunday. I changed my mind about the locket. I realised that one suitable for her at her young age would be too small and so the photos would have to be tiny. Decided to get her a gold cross instead. The picture doesn't do it justice as it's much nicer IRL. The sides are beveled which gives it a lovely shape. I hope she likes it.

Went shopping for a couple of craft items afterwards. I managed to get some Christian metal charms, so I'm going to put one on the front of Lucy's card. Will upload a new piccie when it's done. Also, I found some nice Christmas metal charms which I couldn't resist. I'm sure they'll come in handy. Who needs an excuse to buy stash?

Pressie Time

I've been racking my brain over the last 2 days wondering what to get for the little girl who's asked me to be her Godmother and I think I've come up with a plan. Notice the 'think'? I'm going to make her a girlie exploding box and buy a locket to put inside it. Have seen the one I want to get her, so I'm off shopping next week. I just need to find Christian quotes/bible verses (call to mum and sis needed I think) as well as backing papers and pictures to put inside the box. I want it to be an almost completed present, not one she has for putting loads of pictures in as I gave her a scrapbook kit for her birthday 2 months ago. I will leave a couple of sides blank for her to add pictures of the day though. Will I ever tire of making these boxes? No, but I may run out of reasons for sending them.
Love to all xxx
