To capture valuable insights while protecting user privacy, you need to collect consent from your website users. We recommend you use a Consent Management Platform (CMP) or work with your Content Management System (CMS) to collect consent and send it to Google.

Step 2 of 2: Set up consent mode
To enable Ketch's functionality outside of Google Tag Manager and ensure it loads early on your page, directly implement the Ketch Smart tag, a JavaScript code snippet, onto your website or digital property.
Set up directly from your website’s code
- Sign into your account on Ketch or log into your Ketch dashboard.
- Navigate to the “Properties” screen.
- Select the right property and click “Export Code”.
- Insert the Ketch Smart Tag on each page of your website.
- Note:
- Set up the Ketch Smart Tag by following the instructions given in your website builder like Wordpress, Webflow, Squarespace, Wix, BigCommerce or Hubspot.
- If you use any other website builder, review their documentation to find out how to implement code in the “head tag” of each page.
- Note:
- In the head tag of each page, paste the Ketch script you copied, at the very top of the head tag. Note that this is important to ensure that Ketch functions properly.
Enable Consent Mode
- Link your Google Tag Manager account with Ketch. If you’re using Google Tag Manager, follow these instructions.
- Follow these instructions to enable Google Consent mode for Google tags placed directly on your website.
Test with Tag Assistant
Use Google Tag Assistant to verify your implementation to ensure your consent banner works correctly.
