BRAVING THE ROUGH TIMES – WEEKLY PHOTO CHALLENGE (ACHIEVEMENT)
WEEKLY PHOTO CHALLENGE
According to the dictionary , achievement means :
1. The act of accomplishing or finishing.
2. Something accomplished successfully, especially by means of exertion, skill, practice, or perseverance.
So , in this sense , achievement can be anything ranging from a newly acquired skill set , to a more complex activity carried out after a lot of hard work and heroism .
When I was going through my archives ,for pictures to post under this challenge , this one caught my eye. I do not think , achievement could mean anything more than the act of courage ,heroism ,and perseverance , displayed by this humble ferryman , in ferrying his passengers ,across the backwaters , in such rough climatic conditions , and drop them safely to their destinations….
I would consider this rather ‘humble’ feat , an ‘achievement’ , both for the ferryman and for the passengers ,who trusted him with their lives !
