clik on the graphic for a bigger clearer look…not that that will make you feel better.
Do you know anything about what ‘Traditional’ Economics says about ‘market ‘elasticity’, and what that meme says about price vs. supply?
No?
Huh…
Bet you wish you’d taken macroeconomics…er, maybe not what little they taught in
school is no longer relevant anyway.
More later.

Everywhere I go in Free Left Blogistan from the A-List blogs to the tiniest voice in the ‘sphere….
Folks are reacting with disgust towards Senator ‘Hope’ and the word on The Hill?
She ain’t inevitable no more. Now mind you this is in the threads. The posters are still studying the entrails of all the dead birds the pollsters killed last week. Sadly, to no avail. No one but Bowers is willing to say who’s ahead, he sez Obama, and he basically did that just to see what would happen. I reckon how you vote, or in Obama’s case don’t bother so, does matter to folks.
So the counter attack from progressives has begun. Those Dems who figured to protect their ‘Reich’ flank from conservative attack once they got to the general by using the techniques of ‘The Rabbit’ Emmanuel and ‘Chuckie Cheese’ Schumer and emulating the rhetoric, racism, jingoistic nativism of the ReThuglicans have used so well in past elections now find themselves exposed on their left to the likes of Edwards, Biden (yeah he got a bump this week) and even Dennis the Menace (I like lot’s of things about Kucinich but he’s not really seriously running) on the issues of:
Iraq.
Iran.
Healthcare.
Lying to get elected…Obama really screwed up there this week. People finally woke up to the fact that he holds every possible position on every issue.
Talking out of all side of her mouth…The Hill doesn’t quite ‘get’ Youtube.
Still a dead heat but Edwards is looking pretty dangerous right now. Clinton is flailing and the worst possible thing that could happen to Obama did.
People are asking; ‘Who is this Obama guy anyway?’
Check out our new ‘Primary Central’ top, upper right sidebar feature. Confound you friends. Drive that nutball a work even crazier with your up to the minute
knowledge on the polling numbers. Much more fun than Fantasy Football which every fat, wannabe plays now anyway.
I just whipped up a poll so you can test you knowledge against all them corn ranchers in IA. It’s reached by the following link due to WordPress being…well WordPress!
Who will win the Democratic Primary Caucus in Iowa?

Dear Speaker Pelosi,
I have written your office on several different occasions asking that you move to initiate impeachment proceedings against George Bush and Dick Cheney. We’ve all heard you say that “impeachment is off the table”. You have said one reason for this is that impeachment would be a waste of time. I’m not at all sure this is your primary reason.
One very strong reason you probably have for opposing impeachment is the well known but rarely discussed fact that you are third in line for the Presidency. I don’t see how you could be in your position and not be strongly influenced by this fact. I can also see that the possibility of ascending to the Presidency in such a time and manner could be very intimidating.
I suggest that you fear not the consequences, that you carry out the full responsibilities of your office, that you uphold your oath of office. Many events, foreseen and not, would take place between the time the House commenced impeachment proceedings and the time you might ascend to the Presidency. Few can predict the future, but the likelihood that you would ascend to the Presidency in this manner is very low.
Meanwhile, thousands of Americans and Iraqis are being maimed and killed every month as a result of impeachable acts committed by this Administration. How many more will be maimed and killed in the next eighteen months if the House fails to act?
There was an earlier time when Congress failed to impeach, when our representatives failed to uphold their oaths, when they failed to provide adequate oversight, when they failed to prevent the Executive branch from grabbing power not granted by the Constitution. That time was Iran/Contra during the Reagan Administration.
Many members of that Reagan Administration, including Dick Cheney, are or were members of this Bush Administration. And I contend that these people were emboldened into carrying out the current abuses of power by the fact that they were not held accountable for the abuses of Iran/Contra. Imagine if you will, that this Administration is also not held accountable, that the current abuses become accepted and are condoned as were the abuses of Iran/Contra. Imagine that this Congress is complicit as was that earlier body. What abuses might future Administrations be tempted to carry out?
No impeachment then, no impeachment now. But, we did have impeachment proceedings during the intervening years – simply for lying about a “private” matter. Please do not continue that mockery by abdicating your responsibility now. Impeachment is not a waste of time, it is absolutely necessary, and it is your duty. Do not worry – the people will be behind you, we will march in the streets of Washington to support you.
Thank you for your time.

The 9/10 President is an article Malcontent suggested I read. I did and thought it was both interesting and insightful. Above, I provide a link to the PDF file of the article, and below are a couple highlights…Â
“The disturbing truth is that Bush’s domestic agenda has not only made the nation less prosperous and less fair, it has also made it less safe.”
“What ought to be obvious but has somehow escaped public attention is that Bush’s top priorities are not new spending on homeland security but the same conservative aims that animated him before September 11, 2001. The traditional conservative view of government spending celebrates military outlays while disparaging pretty much everything else. And, despite the lip service it pays to homeland security, the Bush administration continues to view spending through that prism.”
“Indeed, it is in Bush’s interest to engineer showdowns with Congress over spending, in order to connect growing deficits in the public’s mind with profligate spenders in Congress rather than with tax cutters in the White House.”
“the administration seems to view his wartime popularity as a massive bank of political capital from which they can withdraw and spend on other, unrelated causes. In the short run, this strategy is a political boon for Bush and his party. But, in the long run, it divides and weakens the nation against its external threats.”

Hunter has written the post I was thinking on…..
No matter he’s a great progressive and a very good writer indeed. Here’s a sample of today’s post titled Weeks not Months:
‘Let me try and make something clear to the Democratic members of the House and Senate. There’s a world of hurt coming your way, and time is running out.’
That’s exactly right. He goes on to say, bold by me, that:
‘Quit jockeying for position among yourselves. Quit expecting ultraconservative apologists to offer anything more than plans to get more people killed and call it "progress". Quit expecting anything but another two years of incompetent buffoonery from the Bush administration. Quit expecting bipartisanship. Quit expecting miracles that haven’t come for three years, and aren’t just over the horizon now. And quit expecting patience.’
My favorite part is near the end:
‘You have no idea how much raw fury there is out there, just under the surface. And all the "Democratic apologists" like me are on our very last ounce of patience, and all the grassroots supporters have torches lit and and at the ready, and all the Democrats and Republicans in your district are watching to see whether you’re really different from the Republicans or not, and all the troops in Iraq are waiting to see if you can provide an ounce of leadership.’
Go read the whole thing. It’s not just rant; there’s a whole raft of good ideas on how we can actually get out of the hole President Idiot has dug for us. Read it and stay tuned.
You see, I’m part of that mob pictured above and I’m gonna pitchfork me some ‘Spineless Dems’ right soon if’n they don’t git off their Armani suited asses.
Weeks, not months.

On March 17, 2007, the 4th anniversary of the start of the criminal invasion of Iraq, tens of thousands of people from around the country will descend on the Pentagon in a mass demonstration to demand: U.S. Out of Iraq Now! 2007 is the 40th anniversary of the historic 1967 anti-war march to the Pentagon during the Vietnam War. The message of the 1967 march was “From Protest to Resistance,” and marked a turning point in the development of a countrywide mass movement,
