A Prayer For Righteousness

September 21, 2016

Our Heavenly Father,

You are righteous, holy, and pure, light without shadow, presence without stain.

You’ve told us:  “Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.”

We confess our sins to You, Lord; we have no righteousness of our own.

We claim the righteousness that comes by grace through faith in Jesus.

We claim the Spirit’s power to live pure and upright lives, for the grace that brings salvation also teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions and to be self-controlled and godly in this present age as we await our glorious hope–our Lord’s return.

So keep our minds pure.  Keep our eyes blameless.  Sanctify us by Your truth.

Preserve our hearts and homes in holiness befitting Your Name.

Your eyes are on the righteous, Lord, and Your ears are open to our prayers, so keep us from falling and restore righteousness to our land.

In Jesus’ Name,

Amen

Talk Wisdom

Talk Wisdom's goal is to defend the tenets and values of Biblical Christian faith. We defend our Constitutional Republic and Charters of Freedom, especially when speaking out against destructive social and political issues. As followers of our Savior and Lord, we should boldly stand up for Jesus Christ in our present circumstances. He is our Savior, Lord, and King, and His love needs to be shed abroad in our hearts and in our world - now.
