Windows 11 Week numbers to taskbar and calendar
Hey microsoft! I like to see week numbers! Please add this feature. I don't want to browse internet for simple things. I found out that you can add dddd or ddd to see week day on taskbar without clicking calendar, but nothing for week number. PS. Add :ss to short time! I wanna see seconds on my taskbar clock!GumdalfNov 06, 2025Brass Contributor66KViews26likes14Commentsnew to windows 11
well here i am on windows 11, with a brand new computer that i just bought three days ago , i am a little overwhelmed with ease of of moving all my files etc from my old pc to the new one thanks to ms one drive pretty impressive, my hard drive froze in my old pc which i had the extended updates until 2026 put unfortunately i was forced to get a new pc , now as far as windows 11 so far compared to windows 10, well to be honest i have had it running on my new pc for about 4 days now and have to say the responsiveness of 11 is better than 10, but as far as being stable as windows 10 well we will see what the future brings, i am still experimenting with 11, a lot more security features in 11 for sure a little different layout than 10 but so far i have to say its pretty impressive compared to 10, hers hoping i don't eat my words here in the future but all in all i will say not to bad so far, like anything else takes a while to to get onto to the changes but all in all pretty impressed to say the least ,not sure how many others feel the same though, time will tell .caravan75Nov 06, 2025Copper Contributor43Views0likes1CommentReclaiming Administrator rights in Windows 11
I had a Local User account before re-installing HP Laptop Windows 11 Home Edition. I thought I could go back and create a Local User account after setting it up, but Microsoft has ALL the rights. The User Account Window doesn't even have a 'yes' button on it, only a no button. I didn't know this was a thing. Is there a way to regain Administrator Rights again on this computer? I even tried to buy the upgrade to Pro but I don't have any Administrator rights, and that's crazy!!!MaverickNovaNov 06, 2025Iron Contributor25Views0likes1CommentAMD Ryzen 5 2500U and Windows 11 compatibility
I read the list of compatible cpu for Windows 11 and I noted that AMD Ryzen 5 2500U is not in the list. This is a fairly recent CPU as it was released Oct 26th, 2017 and my computer was bought new in April 2019! Is there a process currently utilized by Microsoft to receive requests to revise the list as this specific cpu may have missed the compatiblity list for some reason. I noted that there are many users wanting to upgrade their computer with this specific CPU around the world that are in the same situation and can't upgrade to Windows 11. Looking forward to a feedback about this one !ClaudeDrNov 06, 2025Brass Contributor155KViews11likes37CommentsI want to Clean install reactivation on Windows 11
I recently upgraded windows 11 home to pro using a key I bought from PC World (stacksocial). After faffing with telephone activation, I've finally got it activated. The activation screen looks like: I believe the key is RETAIL: If I do a clean install of windows 11 pro on this computer in the future, will I have to go through the activation process again? Is the key now saved in EUFI similar to the digital licence that came with this dell laptop and that the previous version, 11 HOME was using?OstarariNov 06, 2025Iron Contributor27Views0likes2CommentsWindows 11 Liquid Glass

Windows Defender quick virus scan displays a message stating that it took an action, but there is no evidence of anything in either the Scan History or in the Event Viewer. Edit: Worth noting that this has been happening for months, and no matter what, nothing ever shows here. Here's examples of issues coming up in Notifications, but not showing up in the Protection history:DelawareCanalNov 06, 2025Iron Contributor19Views0likes1CommentKB5063878 fail to install error 0x800f0991

I have a new Windows 11 PC...a significant upgrade from the old Windows 10 machine. In TenForums.com I found the tutorial for how to use SDelete from the Recycle Bin context menu to shred files that are deleted. This tutorial kind of works in Windows 11. The old Windows 10 registry entries to add the command to the context menu are still available, but only if I select "Show more options" from the context menu that is displayed when I right-click on the Recycle Bin icon. I looked through the tutorials on this site for an updated registry changes to add Secure Delete to the primary Win11 context menu, but was unable to find anything. Did I miss something? Having this functionality available from the top context menu would be very useful for me. Thanks,ColtCanyonNov 06, 2025Iron Contributor45Views0likes1Comment
