If you are someone who uses Twitter and Gmail as often as i do, this post will come as a great news for you. In this post, i will describe a step by step process of Integrating Twitter with your Gmail account. This will then allow you to view and send your twitter account updates right from Gmail.
I must say that Gmail has become such an interesting service using which i not only check and send my email but also use it to do voice and video chat, stay invisible on gtalk, manage my tasks, send sms to friends in US for free and much more. With Twitter right inside my Gmail, that will be another feather on the cap.
In order to integrate Twitter with Gmail we will use TwitterGadget which can then be integrated into Gmail. TwitterGadget is a clean, robust, web 2.0 style client for Twitter.com, designed to eliminate the need to install third-party applications to monitor and submit status updates to Twitter via your iGoogle homepage or your Gmail Account.
In order to integrate your Twitter account with your Gmail Account, follow the steps mentioned below
1.) Login to your Gmail account. Follow to the Settings Tab and click on Labs.

2.) Enable the Labs feature called Add any gadget by URL. This feature Adds a “Gadgets” tab to Settings, where you’ll be able to specify the URL of any gadget. This gadget will show in a box in the left column. Click on Save changes to ensure that your changes are saved.

3.) Click on the link under Settings called “Gadgets”.

4.) Enter http://www.twittergadget.com/gadget_gmail.xml in the input box which says “Add a gadget by its URL”. Click on Save once you have pasted the URL into the box.

5.) Twitter Gadget is now integrated with your Gmail account. You can find the gadget in the left hand sidebar of your Gmail account.
This ways we just integrated the Twitter Gadget with Gmail. Similarly, you can integrate any other Gadget to your Gmail account. All you need to have is the URL of the gadget.
