MIDWEEK MADNESS: A CLOSEUP AND MACRO

CMMC: February Close Up or Macro This is a close-up of the Duke. I took the picture this afternoon. He's not a happy camper right now with an infected, bad ear -- which I'm treating. It takes a few days, and he hates getting treated. It isn't painful, but it's wet and cold. So he is … Continue reading MIDWEEK MADNESS: A CLOSEUP AND MACRO

MACRO PORTRAITS

CMMC January Close Up or Macro It's almost always birds or flowers, so just for today, portraits from the recent past.

THE EYES HAVE IT

THEY EYES APPARENTLY HAVE IT, BUT ONLY NOW; LET US NOT FORGET HOW LIFE MOVES ON. ULTIMATELY WE WILL REMEMBER WHO WE WERE. And who we need to be. The yellow-white-kankled "guardian" of our gates will - AS WILL WE ALL - die of one thing or another; My wild friends know. Watch their eyes. … Continue reading THE EYES HAVE IT

EARLY JANUARY MACROS

CMMC January Close Up or Macro Just a few. I've got some new ones on the cards, but they will have to wait. Macro of Rose Famille antique Chinese porcelain.

MACROS – THE GREEN ORCHID

FOTD – January 2 – The Green Orchid - New Macros I got to talking about my macro lenses, and along came an urge to take some pictures rather than talk about taking pictures. I also took some pictures of my anthurium. It is putting out a new flower, but I want to wait a few … Continue reading MACROS – THE GREEN ORCHID

MACROS AND CLOSEUPS

CMMC December Close Up or Macro I have one camera that always has one or another of my macro lenses on it, and it's the camera I'm most likely to grab in the house.

CLOSE CALLS

CMMC November Close Up or Macro This is the season for gourds -- and also Teddy Bears. In the course of finding all the dolls, I found a dozen Teddy Bears, many of them handmade. I forgot collecting them, but having resurfaced, they stand where dolls stood before. The gourds, alas, are temporary.

MACROS WITH A SUPER-WIDE LENS

CMMC October Close Up or Macro I had been flirting with this Leica 9mm 4/3 lens for a while. I've never owned a super-wide lens except for a fisheye that I almost never used because I was never entirely sure what to do with it. This lens at 9mm (18mm per 35mm) isn't exactly a macro, … Continue reading MACROS WITH A SUPER-WIDE LENS

FALL FLOWERS: MUMS & MORE

FOTD – Pink Chrysanthemums Today I can see the changing colors in the leaves. Not yet dramatic, but obvious if you are looking. Meanwhile, the chrysanthemums are beginning to open. I wish they would go more slowly and maybe last longer. The sun came out last night just before we faded into the evening. We've … Continue reading FALL FLOWERS: MUMS & MORE

LAST PHOTOS – SEPTEMBER

Last on the Card – September There weren't any "leftovers" in my cameras this month. All were downloaded, and many have been posted. These look wet because everything looks wet. Even the birds look soggy. The wood on the deck looks sodden. The ground won't absorb more water. What a change from last year, when … Continue reading LAST PHOTOS – SEPTEMBER
