FETISH

FOWC with Fandango — Fetish I collect Native American fetishes. These are small carved items -- sort of like charms or amulets -- but more than that. Some of these carvings are remarkably artistic. Tiny, yet perfect. Each fetish represents a particular kind of luck connected through the creature it represents. This first gallery shows a … Continue reading FETISH

SUMMER’S GONE

In Memoriam 2025, Singers and Songwriters, by Rich Paschall It's a bittersweet moment when we realize that summer's gone and we have moved on to the autumn or even the winter of our lives. The loss of those who contributed to what is commonly referred to as the "Soundtrack of our Lives" makes it even … Continue reading SUMMER’S GONE

A FEW MORE BIRDS

We got a new 40-pound bag of birdseed, so I was able to fill the feeders this morning. They watch me and know when the feeders are full. If I take too long, they get restless and fly past me, just to let me know they are waiting and hungry. I think they are taking … Continue reading A FEW MORE BIRDS

WHEN YOU WERE TEN

And Other Mistakes, by Rich Paschall  In decades past, my mother was a fan of what would be referred to as Supermarket Tabloids. They are usually displayed near the checkout counters of grocery stores. They were meant to catch your eye with provocative headlines and shocking pictures. My mother actually believed a lot of what … Continue reading WHEN YOU WERE TEN

“THAT’S NOT WHO WE ARE”

Lest we forget, this is a flashback to January 20, 2021. Every person who gets interviewed on television says the same thing. It's the current mantra about "the U.S.A." The hooligans who rioted in our Capitol are not really who we are. Not really. Just, well, maybe sometimes. I think this is exactly who we … Continue reading “THAT’S NOT WHO WE ARE”
