CMMC: Bridges What a perfectly timed subject! I have a whole new set of pictures taken yesterday of "our" bridge. Of course, everyone in Uxbridge considers it "their" bridge. It's that kind of bridge. Plus, other Blackstone Valley bridges, most of them crossing the Blackstone River, but a few going over the Mumford River.

FALL FOLIAGE BY THE BLACKSTONE
FOTD – Fall Foliage in the Valley I haven't even started work on any of Garry's next round of photographs -- or gotten close to finishing the first round. September and October have been crazy busy, but while we were out, we did take a lot of pictures. We know this area really well, so … Continue reading FALL FOLIAGE BY THE BLACKSTONE
FALL COMES TO THE VALLEY
Festival of Leaves ~ Color on the Mumford Until a few days ago, there was no color in the trees. Then, overnight, I started to see bright trees, patches of red, gold, and orange. Yesterday I took a few pictures in our own backyard. Today, we spent half an hour by the Mumford Dam -- our … Continue reading FALL COMES TO THE VALLEY
ENGLISH STARLINGS IN THE VALLEY
Birds of the Week Invitation CIII Long, long time ago, British settlers brought their favorite wild birds to live in America. Thus we have Mute Swans, European Sparrows who closely resemble their American pals. And Starlings. I know we aren't supposed to transport wild birds and there are lots of laws against it now, but back … Continue reading ENGLISH STARLINGS IN THE VALLEY
MY BRIEF CAREER AS AN ANIMAL CONTROL OFFICER

MANY AUTUMNS OF OUR LIVES
Story and Photographs: Garry Armstrong FOTD – October 8 – The many autumns of our lives It's that time of year to to worship Mother Nature's foliage. The eye turning montage of color changes. Natural changes. No CGI magic from Hollywood. Autumn has always seemed the most bittersweet season of the year to me from childhood … Continue reading MANY AUTUMNS OF OUR LIVES

ALMOST AUTUMN
There's nothing like some sunshine after the endless rain of summer on a crisp day at the beginning of fall. We haven't been doing much. I've been recovering and Marilyn's been packing dolls and photographing dolls. We've both been going back and forth to doctors. By the end of the day we've been tired. Still, … Continue reading ALMOST AUTUMN
