For the prompt today, I chose to feature Cher. She is a super talented singer and actress who has entertained us for many years.

It’s one of my favorite Cher songs, and I have to sing along every time I hear it

One thing that was mentioned, is the use of Auto-Tune on her voice. It makes a funny sound, and they weren’t sure it should be left in the song, the effect of the slide between her voice and the auto tune, but she said to leave it in. I like this part a lot, myself. It featured a pioneering use of the audio processing software Auto-Tune to distort her vocals, which was widely imitated and became known as the “Cher effect”
The song video is set in a nightclub, and she is both a singer on stage, and also an otherworldly person giving advice to the people, about being strong, moving on after a break-up, etc.
