Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “cool.” Use it any way you’d like. Have fun!

I’m always using the word cool to say I like something. It doesn’t matter what I’ve seen, heard, read, if I like it, it’s cool. It is a good thing.

I was thinking of other ways to use the word cool.

When we were sick, our mother would feel of our foreheads to see if we had a fever. If it felt hot, we did, If it was normal, or cool, we didn’t. She’s always say we were ‘cool as a cucumber’. I suppose cucumbers are cool, temperature wise. I never met a hot one. So it fits that cucumbers are cool.

What about the phrase, ‘cool beans’? I never liked hearing that. Beans would not normally be good to eat if they were cold/cool. Oh yeah, there is 3 bean salad and that is served cold. That’s not what the phrase means though, I don’t think. It means someone likes something a lot. Right?

How about coolant, the stuff you have to put in your car to keep it from overheating. Not sure, but don’t you put this liquid into the radiator? Yes, it is a liquid, not a cool ant, as in insect. Can an ant be cool? I guess so, at least to his ant friends. I think there was a cartoon ant and a singer with the name of an ant. I guess they are cool.

Ooh what about a cooler? That’s the thing you put ice in, along with some canned drinks maybe to keep them cool. Are there cool coolers, or are there cooler coolers? Some a really big, and some are very little. Some are heavy plastic, some are cheap styrofoam. Both work well at their job of keeping things cool.

Sometimes we feel pretty cool, ourselves, don’t we! It’s all a matter of opinion, though. Can you declare yourself to be cool, or does it have to be noted by someone else? You could say, “I’m cool.”, and people might laugh. But if someone else says, “You’re cool”, or maybe “He/she’s cool.”, people might be inclined to agree.
