I had a few photos on the # 127 media, but these were the best.

First is our cat Cricket. She’s gone now, but  was such a sweet kitty. She was a large, tabby colored, and very fluffy fur – a Maine Coon Cat. Shown here with a string of green beads.

Just Jot It January # 7 – Curious

Daily Prompt – JusJoJan the 7th, 2024

Your prompt for JusJoJan January 7th, 2024 is “curious.” Use the word “curious” any way you’d like. Enjoy!

Today’s prompt word is ‘curious’, and I’m going to take the easy road by re-posting a couple of older posts I did on the subject of curiosity. I still have the same thoughts about it today.

You see things and say ‘why?’ But I dream things that never were and say ‘why not?’ ~ George Bernard Shaw

This is a quote from George Bernard Shaw. (July 26, 1856-November 2, 1950) He was a Nobel-Prize and Oscar-winning Irish playwright, critic, and socialist.

I like this quote because I do feel people in general see the things, and happenings in their world, each in their own unique way. Some are satisfied with the surface appearance of what their life is like, or maybe ask a rhetorical ‘why’, but dig no deeper. Then there are others, who are not satisfied with the status quo, so let their curiosity lead them down many other pathways, to find out more.

I know I’m curious about lots of things, and want to know the usual answers to, who, what, where, when, and why. Looking for answers, especially when you go googling, can take a long time, because one thing you find, leads to another interesting thing. Curiosity is a good thing!

CRICKET CAT, CACTUS, and ARTzentangles and art 011

I think my cat, Cricket, likes my art project. Or maybe she’s just curious? She was on the table looking at the cactus paintings of cactus in a clay pot.

If you’re wondering what on earth is in that flower pot, well…it is rocks, painted to look like cacti, cactus, a bunch of cactuses? Well, anyway, I saw something done like this on, of course, Pinterest, and had to try it. I’ve painted on rocks for years…mostly animals, and have done Peace signs, and words, so why not some cactus. I’m sure a real cactus would be laughing at the wanna be cactus, but hey…I tried. So…Nailed or Failed…either way, I enjoyed painting them.:)

The painting in the background, I did many years ago. It’s with acrylics, and on a thick piece of paper.

For now, I’ll keep painting rocks, and pictures, and drawing Zentangles. I have a really cool one started in black and silver, and I’ll post it when it’s done!

Over the Rainbow Bridge – RIP Cricket

Over the Rainbow Bridge – RIP Cricket

***

GE DIGITAL CAMERA

I’m so sad to say that our fur baby Cricket crossed over the Rainbow Bridge this morning.

She had not been well this past week, and after antibiotics and steroids weren’t working, she took a serious turn for the worse over the weekend.

After 10 years of being a part of our family, Cricket will be missed so much. She was loved.

I don’t know your beliefs, but I believe we will see our beloved pets again someday. In my mind’s vision, I saw all our other pets who have gone across the bridge, come gathering around to welcome Cricket. She will not be alone or lonely there.

I never say good-bye, just …see you later. ❤

First thing I see this morning was this in the kitchen.

Cat food crunchy food bits spilled all over the floor. (white container/blue top on the side/red & white cup)

Yes, the container with the cat food crunchies was turned over. It was a big mess to clean up.

Who do you think was the culprit?

“Not me!” said Cricket.

International Cat Day – Cricket

***

~from Wiki~ International Cat Day is a celebration which takes place on 8 August, every year. It was created in 2002 by the International Fund for Animal Welfare

***

This is our cat, Cricket. She is probably a Maine Coon Cat, as she is very fluffy and large. Her fur is mingled brown, white, and tan. We’ve had her about 10 years. She has beautiful green eyes. The second photo shows Cricket with a blue ribbon she likes to play with.

Today for Color Your World we have things that look like the Crayola Crayon called Bittersweet.

  • Crayola Crayon – Bittersweet
  • Orange flowers that look a bit bittersweet
  • Bittersweet Color info – hue family of orange, first introduced in 1949
  • My drawing of a rectangle with triangles on top, colored bittersweet & the word written in the middle
  • My cat Cricket peeking out of a quilt that has bittersweet elements
  • My art mosaic of three horses, one is bittersweet
  • A Lion Fish in a bittersweet color pottery bowl (seen at the Kansas City MO aquarium)
  • A spider in a cup – the cup was red plastic outside/white inside, but the lighting makes it look bittersweet
