1. What is a tandem? … I believe this is a protest march demonstration of people against sun tans.

2. What is a periwinkle? … This is a funny name for just a certain type of British boots for men.

3. What’s the difference between a pitcher and a ewer?  … A pitcher is a pretty thing you hang on the wall, and a ewer is where waste water goes down the drain.

4. Who was Penelope Pitstop? … Might be the waitress/owener of a famous diner where celebrities eat.

5. What is pigeon toed? … This is a funny frog with long toes.

6. What is a toupee? … This is a canvas tent.

7. What is carrion?  … This is a song title from the band Kansas – ‘carrion my wayward son’

8. What is a milkshake? … I’ve heard this describing a herd of cows in an earthquake.

9. What is a cockle? … This is a cute little doggie – part cocker spaniel and a poodle

10. What is a chouz bun?  … This is a two sided bread roll, half is plain, half has sesame seeds on it. You get to chouz which side to eat.

1. What are florins, tanners and bobs? … These are hair and make-up products

2. What is Dead Man’s Fingers? … These are the chocolate version of the sandwich cookies like vanilla Lady Fingers

3. What killed the Triffids? … Spray on weed killer killed the triffids.

4. What’s the difference between a buck and a quid? … One (buck) is a deer, and the other (quid) is a sea creature (squid)

5. How much is an old crown worth? … Probably about a million dollars $$ because in the old days they made crowns out of real gold, not the fake stuff you see today.

6. What can be known as a ‘Little Gem’? .. Little Gem is the name of the chicken in the story about the hen who baked bread, but could get no help from her animal friends, but they wanted to eat the bread after the hen did all the work.

7. What is pearl barley? … This is what comes inside an oyster.

8. Finish the sentence: ‘I came, I saw, I………………..’  … I came, I saw, I took a picture with  my phone camera.

9. Who said ‘Smile, it enhances your face value’? … Those government spy camera people said this.

10. Where on the human body is the zygomatic bone found? … I think it is the kneecap.

2, Vittle … This is a child’s size violin – a very small fiddle

3, Vuvuzela . … This is a potato & cheese combo casserole.

4, Vexillology … This is the study of ventriloquism – throwing your voice.

5. Velociraptor  … This is a dial on your car’s dashboard, measuring speed

6. Vamoosinator … This is one of those hand held, small vacuum machines.

7. Vicissitude … This is the scientific means by which a plant sucks up water.

8. Voce … This is a game with mallets and balls played on the lawn.


9. Vagary … This is the various types of frosting/icing used to decorate a cake.

10. Verbose … This is an expensive sound system for your car.

1. What’s the difference between a bow and a curtsey? … A bow is an implement made of wood and is used to shoot an arrow with, and a curtsey is a kind dairy cow.

2. What’s the difference between a bison and a basin? … A bison is a spyglass used on a submarine, and a basin, is the rank of the submarine enlisted men.

3. What’s the difference between a pocket and a pouch? … A pocket is a scientific toy rocket ship, and a pouch is a piece of furniture in the living room of a house.

4. How do you poach an egg? … I guess you go out in the woods and hunt for it, and then you steal it from the hen. Caution …she will be mad and attack you!

5. What is smog? … Smog is Smelly Moist Offal Goo.

6. What is triage? … A triage is a fun game people play at parties … large color spots on the floor and people get all tangled up for fun.

7. What is a tripod? … A tripod is one of those odd looking insects with long legs.

8. How many legs does an octogenarian have? … No  one has been able to get an accurate count, as they keep wiggling and kicking around.

9. What is a buzz cut? … A buzz cut is like a short cut to a different place. Kind of the same as ‘as far as the crow flies’ in distance — a short cut

10. What’s the difference between a baggie and a bagel? … A baggie is a pair of swim shorts for men, mostly surfers, and a bagel is a cute little puppy dog.

1. What is an heirloom? … An old time machine that took horse hair and wove it into a rug.

2. What is The Big Dipper? … The Big Dipper is a singer who sadly died in a plane crash many years ago.

3. What is a titfer? (keep it family friendly remember!!) … This is a small fried potato fritter.

4. What is a mud flap? … That is that extreme competition where you get in the mud to wrestle.

5. What is a barrel roll? … This is what happens to a clown in a rodeo when he duels with the bull.

6. Why did Polly want a cracker? … Because she needed something to put her peanut butter on.

7. What is meant by ‘trip the light fantastic?’ …  This means you gotta hurry to the toilet.

8. What is a diffuser? … A diffuser is one who settles arguments in court.

9. What is a valet? … Valet is the opposite of ballet … it’s a clogging dance

10. What is a noggin? … Nogging is when people go in a group to sing at holiday time.

4. Context … This is a rough texture that is applied to walls and ceilings.

5. Contemplate … This is a paper plate used at a picnic to put condiments  on.

6. Consider … This is a non alcoholic drink made from apples.

7. Condo … This is a hand signal for thumbs up, all is good.

8. Contour … This is what musical bands do, they give concerts on tour.

9. Consent … This is the sort of old fashioned way of sending a letter to someone … by snail mail.

10. Consul. … This is when a friend is sad, and you give them a hug to make them feel better.

Your fibby suggestions on these please.

1. What is pilau rice? … Popsicles – rice frozen with sugar syrup.

2. What are eggs benedict? … When the deviled eggs go to confession at church. (then they are guest of honor at the church picnic!)

3. What is a souffle? … This is a type of movement in tap dancing where they scrape their shoes on sawdust.

4. What is baked Alaska? … It’s a result of climate change, and the pole shifting phenomena.

5. What is crème brulee? … When kids get in a fistfight one always gets creamed, and gets bruises.

6. What is a victoria sponge? … This is a small square porous thing you wash dishes with.

7. What is a raspberry roulade? … A parade at Mardi Gras, where everyone is blowing raspberries as they go along.

8. What is cannoli ? … This is tasty vegetable oil you fry food in.

9. What is kamaboko? … When your camera breaks and the only instructions you can find for fixing it is in the kamaboko language.

10. What are sweetbreads? … I’d say cinnamon rolls with icing drizzled on top.

3. What is the name of the sport played on broomsticks in Harry Potter? … That sport is called ‘Sweepstakes’ & prizes are awarded.

4. What is the name of the unique language spoken by Furbies? … haha Furbies speak in doppler sounds of whistles and clicks.

5. Which chocolate product had the slogan ‘The lighter way to enjoy chocolate’? … This would be marshmallows.

6. What unit of measurement is used for electrical resistance? … It’s called the ARM measurement. ‘Aurora Resistance Measurement’

7. In what sport would you use the term ‘Daily Double’? … This would be a section of the game of cards called Poker.

8. Which fashion label popularised the velour tracksuit in the 2000s? … It was the Northern Lights Fashion House.

9. Where would you find the Mariana Trench? … This is a huge depression that’s been discovered on the planet Mars.

4. Define Corybantic. … This is a way of singing with high exuberance.

5. What does Crinkum-crankum mean? … This means to play with the jack-in-the-box toy.

6. What is a Cacodemon ? … It’s an addiction to chocolate

7. What would you do with a collop? … I’d serve it with melted butter

8. What is a curlicue? … This is a fancy shot you make when playing the game of billiards.

9. Who or what is a cootie? … This is one of those foam devices to put a can of soda or beer in to keep it cool.

10. What is an erf? … Aww, it’s what a tiny puppy says when it’s wanting it’s mama.

  • Cacoethes … This is what happens to your clothes when you take them to the dry cleaner shop – deadly chemicals get all over them.
  • Callipygian … This is that funny looking picture writing in Egyptian pyramids.
  • Confabulate … This is swishing and churning motions inside your washing machine.
  • Cankerblossom … Eww I hope you never get this disease.
  • Chicanery … This is a wood product that you add for flavoring in coffee, and also can be burned in your BBQ grill.
  • Cloff … This is how a toddler child tries to say ‘cloth’, probably referring to their favorite little blanket.
  • Canorous … This is a dinosaur that was so small nobody even cared to classify it, but still it lived… it lived … and still does!
  • Coxcomb … This is an employee on a sailing ship in the old days – a navigator type of job.
  • Clishmaclaver … This is an electric sterilizing machine used in hospitals and beauty shops to clean metal instruments.
