A 2 Z – 2026 – Letter Z – Zee End

Well, we made it to the last letter in the A to Z Blog Challenge 2026

Real Definition = A branch of applied chemistry that deals with fermentation processes.

Sentence = Of all the zooks in the culinary class, Marie took her zeal for cooking to a higher level, annoying everyone.

Real Definition = A word used as a mild oath.

Daffy Definition = zein – Any congregation of people who are sleeping, or pseudo sleeping in public, to further a cause; a sleep-in; also known as a zzz-in.

Sentence = Approximately one hundred people, dressed in pajamas, showed up in the town square for the zzz-in (zein).

Real Definition = A genus of grasses, including Indian corn; a protein from Indian corn, that lacks lysine and tryptophan, and is used esp. in making textile fibers, plastics, printing inks, coatings (as varnish), and adhesives and sizes.

A zinger is an amusing, witty remark.

The first thing I think of with the word zinger, is of the snack cake by the same name. The ones I remember were like Twinkies, only they were covered with a raspberry/coconut topping. I thought they were pretty good! 🙂

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “food.” Use it any way you’d like. Have fun!

Well now, this prompt is a very broad subject isn’t it. I wouldn’t even know where to start. I guess I did start though, since here I am typing some sentences. Anyway, I looked back at old posts I’ve done that mention food. hahahaha there were 45 pages worth. Some had photos, some were memories, some were poems, some were songs. So I just grabbed one that is this one.

Coloring page shows a brown puppy wearing a Santa hat. He has a blue bowl with a bone in it. It is a coloring page I did and a little Haiku  poem with a message.

Well, another A to Z Blog Challenge has come and gone. This is my final entry for 2023 and it’s been fun. Hope you’ve enjoyed some of these posts, new and from long ago. Thank you so much for all the visits, likes, and comments! They are so appreciated! ❤

Letter Z is for…Zuider Zee

The Zuider Zee is a restaurant that we had here in town. It isn’t here any more, but it was a really good seafood restaurant. Also, a good date night destination! This is a menu I saved. It is olive green with a red lobster or crawfish smiling, wearing a chef’s hat and an apron.🙂

2 Old Poems – Just Jot It January – Seasonal

These are a couple of poems I wrote back in 2021 for some challenges or other. The first one is a Haiku and meant to be funny (picture from free clipart of kid raking leaves)

This next photo is of our blue pick-up truck with a big tumbleweed up on the hood. We here in west Texas can have tumbleweeds blowing around during any season. Lately they’ve been mentioned on the news that tumbleweeds are piling up in people’s yards this time of year. This is another Haiku.

The clock said it was time, time to do magic. I got my magician’s cane, my potion book, and boarded an airplane to my next destination. I prefer street magic, with people all around. They don’t know they are pawns in my nefarious dirty deeds. heh heh

Nevermind, I set up my table while the victims watched. Pulling my purple cape open, I showed them I had nothing to hide. With a flourish then, I whisked out a bouquet of marigold flowers. The crowd oohed and aahed at that. Delicately I pulled off the orange petals and dropped them into a bowl, added a few drops of my potion (poison … don’t tell anyone), and stirred it around mixing well. I said some fancy sounding words of incantation, and dipped my fingers into the bowl.

With my dripping fingers I flung the droplets at the crowd. Everyone got splashed, but they laughed at the pretty rainbow sparkles the mixture made. But, I’d have the last laugh, I’d just changed their entire DNA, and in time they would morph into many macabre monsters.

I packed up my materials, plus the basket of money the people had donated and went on my way. I had a plane to catch to the next venue.
