Dreamscape Stories # 5 – Movie

It’s been awhile, about 2 years since I posted about a dream. But I had a really funny one this morning just before waking up. It was funny to me, I was laughing so much!

We, as a family, went out to a movie theater. We hadn’t been to one in years. I didn’t really want to go, because I can’t eat popcorn, and what’s the point of going to a movie and not getting popcorn. It would be torture to sit there smelling that buttery snack, and watching everyone around you eating it, and I’m not allowed. So, I never want to go to a movie again in my life. Ever!

But, we went, me included. We’re at the snack counter, and for some reason everyone was just getting hamburgers. This theater did serve hamburgers of all kinds.

The lady behind the counter was very slow making them, though. She’d only make one full burger with everything, before starting on the next one. We were getting impatient. Finally it was my turn to say what I wanted on my burger, so I told her, and to make sure it was cooked very well done.

That was all, and I woke up. So far not funny is it.

What was so funny to me was this … we were all ourselves, but we were a squirrel family. We acted and thought as humans, but we all looked like squirrels.

Oh my, just typing that is getting me laughing so tears are blurring my eyes. hahaha 🙂 And I didn’t even realize we were squirrels until right at the end, myself.

I’m always hearing things wrong. Whatever it is never makes sense, but makes me laugh so much.

I’m usually typing or reading blogs, while the TV is on, so I’m only half way listening until something strange is said.

This morning I heard about a re-call about cars. They mentioned ‘psychotic air bags’.

What???

I started laughing so much, the Mr. had to ask why.

Well, just a little bit ago I thought I’d check to see what they really were talking about. It seems there is a re-call on air bags in certain cars. Some company that makes them is called Takata, and they have a big problem with the air bags being dangerous in a crash.

It makes more sense, now. But, I still am laughing about air bags going psychotic.

Just Jot It January # 20 – Humor

Your prompt for JusJoJan January 20th, 2020, is “humor.” Use the word “humor” any way you’d like. Enjoy!

There was a question one time in some game or other that asked what did we consider the best personality trait to have. I answered a sense of humor. I still believe that.

If you’re able to see the funny side of life, you will enjoy it more, I think. Even if something goes wrong, if you have a sense of humor, you can find something about it that is worthy of at least a smile, a giggle, or outright laugh. It sure beats getting stressed or angry about the situation.

I don’t discount truly horrible or devastating situations – there is a time for sadness, grief, and anger which are not in any way a laughing matter. And it would be terribly wrong to laugh at, or at the expense of others misfortunes.

But in everyday happenings, just try to see the humor in it, and keep on going, as happiness and humor go hand in hand. It’s uplifting and good for you. 🙂

Did you ever have one of these? It’s a battery toy that makes laughing sounds. It’s funny for a minute, but then is very annoying. For some reason it is stored away in our Halloween decorations. Maybe that is because it’s kinda creepy laughing! haha

Laughing is the universal language, I think. Everyone, everywhere laughs at something they find funny. There’s all kinds of laugh sounds, and words that describe laughter. Here’s a few:

  1. belly laugh
  2. guffaw
  3. tee-hee
  4. chuckle
  5. cackle
  6. bray

One kind is what I think sounds like a snake hissing. It’s pushing air through your teeth – tsss tss tss.

I tend to laugh until my eyes water. That’s usually loud, with some snorts and shrieks, and keeps going on until I’m gasping for breath, and my stomach is aching from it.

Then, there is the polite laugh. This is when you hear someone say something they think is funny, but to you it’s just mildly amusing. Hmm-hmm-hmm…

Maybe you just don’t get the joke you just heard. This happens to me a lot. I just don’t get what’s so funny about some jokes. Everyone else will be ROFL, and I’m going hmm-hmm-hmm. Then, they laugh because I didn’t get it. ha ha ha – whatever…

There was a TV game show, years ago, that contestants tried not to laugh at someone in front of them trying to make them laugh. I think they won money or something. I’d be good at that show, because all their efforts to make the person laugh wouldn’t work on me…I found none of them funny.

You’ve heard of the laughing cow cheese? Here’s a cow we saw the other day. I don’t think she was laughing, though.
