Two Ships
Two ships—One of the Bolivar Ferry boats and the other a big Carnival Cruise ship—passing each other yesterday in the Galveston Ship Channel.
Ships can pass in the day as well as in the night.

The first impression one might from this photo is that something very dangerous is happening. if you understand that even though the ferries are large, the cruise ships are far larger, it is possible to understand that the cruise ship is very far away. And the ships at Galveston are far from the largest around, though they are larger than all but the biggest handful of ships from 20 years ago.

Bacopa–I was out on some dinky harbor tour boat. They sure looked big from that vantage point and when you were pondering the forse of the wake from each ship.

Yeah, that’s what I was thinking too. Even though the ferry and the cruise liner are not as close to each other as this picture might at first make it seem, I was pretty sure the boat the picture was taken from was going get seriously rolled by a couple of wakes. Hope you didn’t get seasick.
I never get seasick myself, but if I’ve been on the water a few hours I always feel like the ground is moving when I get back on land.
