its a lovely day in the neighborhood.

Did it ever occur to anyone that they had a character named "Mr. McFeeley" on the Mr. Rogers show?

lessons learned.

  • I'm tired.
  • Coke Zero=Delicious
  • I've watched Kung Fu Panda 7 x's this week on my own accord, and am definitely a better person for it.
  • Apparently I'm the only one who's heard of the Indigo Girls.
  • If you recall, I can't understand people with accents very well (ridiculous? Yes, but I'm not ashamed to admit my faults), so Quantum of Solace may as well have been a foreign movie.
  • Cheesecake Factory, we need to hang out more often......
  • Yes, my week was full of movies and yummy food. What else are you supposed to do when family is around?
  • PG is better at Zelda than I.....So help him if he trys Dr. Mario.

lucille 2.

Due to a recent 2 ft. sickie in the house, I have again been terrified of the impending stomach flu, and consuming only crackers. Today, it hit, but it wasn't what I expected. Whatever monster illness he has contracted morphed into an inner ear problem for me (I'm sure this was part of PGs problem, so selfish). It creates vertigo, which turns into nausea, which turns into vomiting. I only progressed as far as step 2, when mom suggested that I lay down - problem solved. Sitting up=vomit, lying down=paradise. She also said there was some OTC med she took when she had an inner ear infection years ago, but couldn't remember what it was. All she knew was that it was a medicine intended for something completely different than vertigo. Want to guess what it is? Benadryl. Weird Science. It worked like a charm. Too bad Lucille Austero wasn't in on the 411.

disney weekend (not the fun kind).

We went to N. UT to visit some fam and take a little weekend break. What we got was a sick toddler. (Its like I can never travel again, right?). Anyway, we hunkered down with towels, Gatorade and every animated movie you could think of. Here was the line up.
  • Lion King
  • Chicken Little
  • The Great Mouse Detective
  • Beauty and the Beast
Around 3 am it was time to hit the ER cause homeslice was dehydrated. They hooked him up to an IV and gave him some meds. Then we were asked if we wanted to watch anything to pass the time.....Please, no more Disney, I thought. But our fate was sealed. Peter Pan and Snow White were on deck. It was better than nothing I suppose.

PG recovered from vomiting, but still has a fever and has never been grumpier. Thanks to Dave's fam for all their patience and help. A good time was had by all (except perhaps PG...).

molls.

My dear high school friend Molly.....(junior high actually, whoa), was brave enough to venture into Mormon country and visit me last week. It was a freaking blast.
  • I like Molls because she introduces me to things like Chocolate Chex, and goes shopping with me in Park City.
  • PG likes Molls because she cuddles and sings patriotic songs with a diaper on her head.
It was a sad, sad day when she had to go.
We decided that junior high pics were never going to be published....ever..... so a high school grad pic will have to suffice.

great.

Dear Discovery/Animal Planet Channels,

Because of you, I now have no desire to enter into any natural body of water, or do anything outdoors again. You blew it.

Sincerely,
Sarah A.

lessons learned.

  • Cleaning one room will inevitably lead to "Spring Cleaning" the entire house. Especially when one is married to Danny Tanner.
  • Costco is a great place to re-connect with old dear friends.
  • PG is addicted to Jelly Beans.
  • Sometime in life, everyone will have to face the question - When am I desperate enough to use a Phenergan suppository? An ill family member reminded me that some people haven't made that decision yet.
  • Uh - did anyone else know that 3 Blind Mice, and Row Row Row Your Boat can be sung interchangeably in a round? Yeah, think about it.
  • Having someone from out of town visit is like a vacation for me too, and its awesome.

"bar"

I saw on the news that Barbara Bush is recovering from heart surgery. What better time to bust out this old gem? (I played in a string quartet for some event Bar attended in B-town). I feel like if we were holding hands this could be a prom pic.
Note - the scanner is up and running. If I'm willing to post this hideousness of myself, just imagine what awaits for you......

lessons learned.

  • Internet dying for 2 days = suck.
  • There was a guy on the news last night named Dow Jones.
  • Until this week, I had no idea that each span of playtime during a college basketball game is called a "half".
  • I was at Costco the other day, and a child (approx. 7 yrs of age) sitting next to me leaned over and said "I don't like you". I laughed and said, "That's ok, I'm sure there are plenty of people that don't like me." Had his parents not been there, I would have said, "That's ok, you have a bowl cut and bucked teeth".
  • I wonder how much those Statue of Liberty tax guys on the side of the road get paid....is it comparable to the Little Caesar's guy? Are there mandatory dance requirements?
