Allers, Assemble!

How is it that every year, EVERY YEAR, D comes up with our grandiose Halloween costume ideas, and I consent to making them if, and only if, he helps me. But inside I know I should just get real.....(well this year he was out of town, whatever). Can I just say that I am exhausted? But I don't care. I refuse to give in. Halloween is, and always will be one of my favorite holidays. Come on people! You get to dress up! Anyway, I'm always of the opinion that homeade trumps store bought. Most of our goods were of the latter. If you have questions just let me know.

Yes these are the same pics as Facebook.

Allers! Assemble!

Here's some individuals. Our good camera died. Of course. So you get iPhone photos.

Ok. PGs isn't original. He asked for all of the components for his birthday in September. DONE.

With out the hands, people just thought "he" was Bam Bam. Fair enough.

That outfit had a billion layers and was hotter than Hades. The velcro vest itself was about an inch thick. Note to self.

Somebody couldn't remember where he put his helmet.
Me: "Really babe? I did all of this, and you can't find your helmet. One thing!"
D: "I'm ashamed"

It was our first year really trick or treating. It was exhausting. We also crammed in a ride on this,
which my brother in law's family helps run. Awesome weekend.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

lessons learned.

  • D*** YOU CANDY CORN!!! *shakes fist*
  • Please. If you're going to wear socks with any sort of ballet flat, can they NOT be white athletic socks? In fact, lets just stay away from white all together.
  • When I said I was returning the jacket, I really meant it. But I assumed the fact that I would probably buy more things when I went back was implied. What? You didn't get that from our conversation?
  • So, so very many stupid people out there.
  • THIS is happening tomorrow night....Around the world. And I cannot participate. The world is so unjust. Zombies? Thriller? Flash Mob? Halloween? UNJUST!!!

run for your life stranger!

The other day we were eating at the Rio, and this obnoxious, lumbering, loud, not wearing enough pants were there should be pants (and not in a good way) 20 something chick cuts in line and goes "Um - can I have some more chicken? Just a few ounces." She did it in a way where I think she thought she was being cute, but I was all Girrrrrl, I don't think you look like you think you do. I was also thinking the request in an of itself was weird. Isn't that something you pay for.....extra meat, right? They ask you that as they are making your food. Its not like you're asking for more ketchup.

Anyway - the guy behind the counter sort of looked at all of us in line like, what do I do. After a few awkward seconds he relented and gave her some chipper chicken.

Then she sits down - with a dude. A semi attractive younger gentlemen. And yes, they were an item, because her hand smacked is a$$ a few times. You know - to mark her territory? I watched as they dined. She was loud, LOUD. Like "Oh my yummy. This is so good". And bossy. BOSSY. "Dan I need a refill, don't put too much ice in".

He slinked over to refill the drink and it took all of my mind, body and soul to not jump up and say, "Dude. Run. Run for your life. And don't look back......I'll distract her with some chicken. GO!"

Seriously.

really? again?

D dislocated his shoulder playing flag football on Sat. We are literally in the ER or an Insta-care for something D related at least once a month. I shouldn't have been surprised. It was a stupendous way to spend a Saturday night.

Sling for a week....

I did make him keep his movie date with me during the day before I took him to the doctor. Priorities. He's such a lucky guy....

birthday boy.

Holy MOLY - its been too, too long. A few weeks of husband traveling, family in town, and us visiting family. I'm still not home, but I know most of you were concerned if I was still alive. And thus I write this post waaaayyyy past my bedtime.

D turned 32 over the weekend. (I remember when I met him he was 23, and I was all Uh, you are old, sir.) Anywho. Since family was in town, we opted to spend it in N. Utah at the in laws with everyone.

We went 4 wheeling to Logan Peak (it was beautiful. Thanks so very much Geergie and to all those that watched the kids).

It was high, and cold.

The men. D's older bro Jed, and father Gary.

And then we all invaded Cafe Sabor to eat super healthy, low cal Mexican food (and subsequently get what I suspect was mild food poisoning from those that ordered certain items. Not me though....Ha ha).

Anyway. Sombreros need to be worn more often. Something about this picture is golden. I laughed for about 5 minutes.

This? This is the best picture we could get? Come on children. Also - forgive the flash that's brighter than the sun and makes us look like super tan zombies.

Happy Birthday my love!

done gone lost my mind.....the tri.

I signed up for this triathlon. Its in exactly 1 month. I think this whole idea had something to do with the fact that I'm turning 30 in December.

I've been training for a few months now, and the progress has been good, but I don't think I'll ever feel 100% prepared. Its only a sprint length (5k run, 10 mile bike, 350m swim). I've always wanted to do a triathlon ever since I found out they were not all the distance of an Iron Man (cause that's just insane). Some other reasons are as follows:
  • I love swimming (and I'm good at it).
  • I love races, but hate running (hate, loathe, despise...I really dislike it). With a tri - the running is only part of it, not all of it. Bonus.
  • I need time to train. The timing is perfect now that D's traveling has slowed, at least for a few months.
The only part I'm a little nervous for is the bike. I've been going to spin classes for awhile, and a few weeks ago tried a ride on an actual bike. Something I haven't done since I was 15. It actually wasn't that bad, although I did swallow a bug. Not just had one fly into my mouth and then spit it out again, but swallowed it whole. I still think about puking......

So that's that. Happy pre birthday to me. I may die, but at least I can say I did a tri. Ha! Hahahahaha.......HA.

presents.

Over the weekend while my parents were visiting, we celebrated D and my father's October birthdays. My parent's got D this....

A remote controlled helicopter.

If you think he's learned how to fly it blind into any room, and follow me around the house with it....you'd be correct. At least I can hear it coming.

Annnnnnnnnnd. This.....

A RoboStir. You guessed it - for HoDo.
If you've ever wondered, Why is Sarah so awesome at gift giving?
Now you know where I get it from.
