Kidney Update
So my visit to the doctors did shed some light on the kidney situation. All my info from last night was coming from a labor and delivery nurse so she really didn't know anything about what was going on.
My doctor took a look at the renal ultrasounds and explained what was going on by drawing me a diagram like this:

So basically my kidney has been filling up with urine because its blocked by something and to make matters worse a baby is sitting applying pressure to it all.... They could do a surgery by cutting through my abdomen and draining it, or going up through the urethra but no one wants to touch me cuz I'm pregnant. So as a result they just want to medicate me with as low of pain medicine as they can until I'm no longer pregnant, or the problem fixes itself with the antibiotics or passing of a stone. Now I have to strain my urine to watch for anything so wish me luck!

Pain Pain Pain
This is my story about my little trip to the ER yesterday. It might be a little long but I needed to document it for journal sakes.
So Sunday I wasn't feeling very well. Some cramping and lower back pain. I ended up coming an hour late to church and just getting through Primary. My mom watched Bruin for awhile while I rested and Phil even made dinner. Didn't know what was wrong with me but happy to have support when I needed it.
Then yesterday I was again feeling discomfort but I also felt like maybe I was coming down with a UTI, which is something I'm somewhat familiar with as I've had them before. So I got myself some cranberry juice and drove to a park and let Bruin play while I chugged. When I got home and put Bruin down for a nap the pain in my lower right back began and increasingly got worse until I was writhing on the ground in pain. I called my mom and she rushed over and we found my neighbor to sit at my house until Bruin woke up while my mom drove me to the emergency room. Phil was working out of town so he wasn't gonna be able to help.
I was pretty sure at this point something was wrong with my kidney with the pain being so centralized and knowing something was going on with my urinary tract. Anyways, they wouldn't admit me in the ER because I was 30 weeks pregnant and so they sent me up to the triage unit so they could monitor the baby and contractions while I was being checked out. This was actually a blessing because the ER was jam-packed with people, HOWEVER because I was pregnant they couldn't give me anything for the pain until they had administered all the tests (cathadar equipment included), gotten the results back from the lab, and then received a go-ahead from the doctor they kept having to page. I literally moaned and sobbed for two hours until they could finally give me something for the pain. And then all they were allowed to give me were some PILLS of Vicodin... PILLS!! Those take TIME.. Come on now! ...and then I had to wait another half hour to determine that the pills didn't work and wait for them to page the doctor again and receive permission to give me a shot in the bum with Demerol. The nurses felt really bad because their hands were tied on what they could do for me.
Seriously though, I have never been in that much pain in my entire life, including labor. At one point I turned to my mom and said I thought I was going literally mad from enduring that much pain unending. I wanted to jump up and run around screaming if I thought it would do something to make it go away. The consensus was that I probably had a kidney stone but they couldn't know for sure until they did an ultrasound. There were other girls who were coming and going in triage, being checked out to see if they were really in labor and ready to be admitted into the birthing center. I was trying really hard not to sob too loud for their sake cuz I didn't want to freak them out but it was one of those things you just couldn't help!
It took forever for the ultrasound to finally get there but I didn't care at this point because I could finally relax and soak up the wonderful feeling of modern medicine in my veins :) Mmm the warmth and sleepiness was so wonderful I just wanted to kiss the nurse who poked me with that wretched needle (leaving a huge bruise today I might add).
The ultrasound didn't end up finding an actual stone but they did find build up of "junk" or fluids in my kidney that was causing the pain. Something about my kidneys not properly flushing itself out so I was building up a blockage. I was given a prescription for antiobiotics and pain medicine and sent home with the instructions that if the pain got too bad that I'd need to come back in and do another ultrasound to look for any stones or something they might have missed :(
So now here I sit, drugged on pain meds and hoping my kidney is okay, not to mention my baby that is getting the pain meds as a result. Thank you to all those that helped out yesterday though! Josh Barlocker and Ben Phillips who came and gave me a blessing. And the Beagleys who watched Bruin the whole time I was at the hospital. And my Mom for being by my side the entire time and then driving me to pick up pizza when we were done :) THANK YOU!
I have a doctors appointment today so maybe I'll get a better explanation of what's going on with my kidney, we'll see.

Sisters and Cousins Vacation
My family is working on establishing a tradition of all of us original Lundquist girls getting together with our kids once every other year for a cousins/sisters week. This year it was held in McAllen, TX where my sister Amy lives. I've been looking forward to this vacation it seems like forever but was NOT looking forward to the 3 flights with Bruin on my lap to get there. Of course our trusty little portable DVD player decided to malfunction the night before I left and I may have freaked a little. THANKFULLY our sweet friends scrambled to find me one and the Dewitts let me borrow theirs for the trip. THANK HEAVEN for good friends! Bruin was surprisingly well behaved and I only had to whip out some Dora the Explorer for one of the flights. It helped that we met up with my sister April and her son Gavin for the last two flights. Those two little boys were so funny together. This is them sharing a window :)

Anyways, once we were there we had such a fun time together. I loved being with my sisters, although they make me feel like a talentless schmuck sometimes cuz they're such good moms and wives! My sister April helped me re-upholster the baby swing pad that goes on the swing I just bought off of craigslist. It turned out sooo cute! I will post a pic of it once I finish the edging.
Here are some pics of the 10 days we all spent together. Bruin had a blast with all his cousins, although the last day there I think he'd decided he'd had enough and wanted to cling to me all day and have me hold him. I guess you can only take so much hanging with the big dogs.

The Zoo

Grocery shopping

The Beach

Lots of time in the backyard

Reading time with Grandpa (he came up for the weekend so he could enjoy his daughters and grandsons)

Trying to get good photos

Already counting down the days until NEXT time where we'll have at least three more! (3 of us are pregnant right now).
P.S. Bruin's private blog has also been updated with more pics and video of him from the vaca.
