We’re All Mad Here

Sitting outside enjoying a nice cup of tea (pepper mint infused with green tea) and a good book, the kind that brings back memories of good friends and those that are no longer around. Paying little attention to what was happening around me, I slowly slipped into the books reality loosing all focus on my own. The events that occurred after drifting into a far off land not of my own, cannot be recounted accurately without the need of a witness to attest to my words. What I do remember is slipping into my metamorphosis of stories, something to not be taken lightly unless one is reliving a happier story. But in my case it was one made up of oddities that left me rather confused as to which parts were reality and which were from the deep pages of a book. One thing I do know is that the Cheshire cat really was not sitting in a tree pouring his own cup of tea; yet his words still ring my ear clearly “We’re all mad here, my dear.” Was he really there or was I simply seeing visions of him.

A Little Wine Goes a Long Way

It is a rare occasion for me to get a chance to sit down and enjoy a good show or even a movie. I am often so busy I am running from one place to another, or my day is filled with work and things that need to be done around the house. Rarely do I take a moment just for myself and enjoy the moment; work always looms in the back of my thoughts. Sometimes during these brief moments of relaxation, I will enjoy a glass of wine which lasts for hours.

The Mans Space

The young mans mother sat back taking in the scene before her. She watched as little pieces were put into place as her son and his friends moved about the tiny apartment. Catching his glance, she smiled at her son and wondered where the time had gone. Sitting down at the small table she smiled as she recalled the day she had held for the first time. She sat there remembering every cut, bump, and bruise. She recalled how she felt on the first day of school, kissing her little guy goodbye for the day. Sitting down beside her, her son wiped the tears away. She took his hand and smiled looking at the young man beside her, but seeing the little boy instead. Where had the time gone, she wondered as she watched her son take flight.

A Visit to the Farm

I remember the first time I visited a farm, I was quiet young and my little sister was barely a year old. My grandparents lived there before moving into a small town. We moved into that very farm shortly after and I spent a good portion of my young life living there. We moved around my nineth birthday and not a day has past that I have longed to be back there. Often I drag my family past that farm and point out where the old house once stood and how the monster mansion is a new addition to the property. I visit my friends farms and chat with their parents while my little ones scamper about the yard. My oldest grumbles about the smell, but I just ignore it. I remember that her precious wish of a horse requires living in this environment. Today I visit that old farm house in memory for no longer does it stand, but lives within my heart.

There are times in my life where I wish to return to when I had no responsibilities. A time when I could sit and play with dolls and be a goofball. A time when I did not have to get up early and force myself to go off to work. There are times in my life when I wish I could be a child again and toss away all the conventional adult ideals. Today I throw away my adulthood and reclaim my youth. Dolls will adorn my floor, butterflies my wall, I will chase those dreams, and laugh like I have not laughed in a long time.

Overall Opinion:

I absolutely love these dolls by Serenity Style, they remind me of the dolls my mom use to make when I younger. I would cart the dolls all over the place. I looked forward to my birthday every year because I knew I would be getting a new doll. The kitty stuffies by Closet Chickies is a toy I see often being carted around by my children. They remind me a simple time or moment I have now with my kids that makes me forget the world around me. As for my outfit, it is no secret I love these pants they are my go to when I need something to a long with a top. I love this top from C’est la vie, it comes in other colour options, but it is perfect for staying around the house on those days you want to be uber comfortable.

Beach Getaway

The waves crash gently upon the shore as seagulls fly over head singing their ode to the warm day. The little hut had been prepared the night before for the new guest that would stay there for the weekend. Not much was known about the stranger who would dwell inside, all the owners knew was that she was here to do some writing away from the busy city life. Her book was due by Monday and the beach was the perfect place to hide away from the world for a few days. They had removed all forms of communication from the hut as the stranger had requested, even removing the television and the radio. The fridge was fully stalked for the time that would be spent there.

Giving Some Pointers

I am by far no ballerina, in fact I have never taken a lesson in my life. I have watched a lot of ballet over the years and had friends tell me all about their lessons and proper technique. Today little Cady came over to show me her new ballet skills. While she told me the names for each movie and showed me how to do them, I offered some pointers that I remembered my friends telling me about. I may have even attempted a move or two which caused Cady to laugh uncontrollably.

Overall Opinion:

I bought this outfit over the summer and had every intention of wearing it, but quickly forgot all about it. I found it by chance while looking for something to wear. Why I bought it in olive I do not recall, but I am very glad that I did. I love the colour and how it looks. It is a fun and playful outfit and perfect for any occasion. Likewise for the pose being used by Cady, it is fun and perfect for those of you who enjoy ballet. My furniture is the perfect edition to any room within the house, I bought it because of the cheeky fox.

Truly a Girls Room

I decided to make some changes in my home; fixing up the guest room mostly. It stood empty for far to long. Carefully I unpacked the boxes that filled the space to see what I had to work with. Putting together the bed, I created the focal point. Moved in a vanity and dresser from storage, that was better on display then collecting dust only to be forgotten. Each item came to life as I placed them around the room filling in the once box filled space. The room took shape and its character shone through. The room was fit for a girl.
