There once stood a quiet little house tucked away in the corner of a small island. The aroma of baked goods could be found floating in the air drawing in those who were out wandering. From the outside, you could tell the home was well cared for by its owner.

No one knew who lived there, but one would wager a guess that a humbled old woman dwelled within. If invited inside, you would conclude she lived alone as the upper floor laid empty, perhaps this was because those who lived with the old woman had long since moved out or because the climb up the stairs proved to be tiresome for the old woman. Through careful examination though, one would soon learn that the old woman occasionally had little visitors come to her home for the day to visit and perhaps bake with the old woman.

The Powder Room

Standing back, she looked around the one room she had finished decorating; the room she would spend a good deal of her morning preparing for the day. Hearing the small quiet mews, she looked over and smiled at the kitten giving its approval. The powder room was well decorated and cozy for those days after a long days work, or for those mornings where a few extra minutes of pampering were well needed.

During the day my thoughts are filled to the brim with any given number of items; work, people, media, what is happening around the world. These thoughts intrude my sleep most days, as my brain attempts to sort out their relevance and meaning. Information comes in and rarely leaves, it lingers in my thoughts always. Those around me often ask why I look tired or how do I know that and will comment that I need to shut my brain off some days, and I think to myself if only it were that simple. The only time I really find reprieve from my thoughts and the information overload I sustain every day, is when I find the time to sit and read a good book in the comfort of my home.

When my thoughts are heavy and weighed down, there is not much that can distract me from my worry, my pain, and my hurt. I seek out the comforts of a familiar friend and warm drink. The day moved at a slow pace and I longed to be home, curled up, lost within great conversation. The bell rang and I raced home not giving another thought to what troubled my soul as I changed into something more comfortable. I made my tea and headed for my comfort zone under the stairs where I sat with my old friend who could always bring me comfort when I needed it the most. I ventured off to find the lost world within the pages of my favourite book.

Love is in the Laundry Room

Standing in the laundry room, I quietly hummed myself as I sorted out the piles of dirty belongings preparing them for the wash. Emptying pockets removing toys, crayons, rocks, and money I smiled at each piece that was forgotten in the pocket. Each item was cherished by the owner which made me smile at some of the oddities found within their pockets. My mother use to say that love is in the laundry room and I often wrinkled my nose looking at her and the daunting chore that never seems to end. It wasn’t until I had to empty the pockets and see the treasures my children keep. Love is in the laundry room waiting to be reclaimed by those who hold on to it.

Dreaming of the Sea

The young man smiled at his new bride taking in all her beauty. Taking her hand he guided her slowly past their guests nodding in return to their well wishes, taking their seats at the table and watching their guests do the same. He looked around the deck and smiled taking in the evening air. He watched as everyone mingled together over dinner and thanked those who came to congratulation them. He watched his bride light up the area with her smile. Every detail of what he had wanted for their wedding was in its place. She had not protested when he had declared he wanted a sea themed wedding; she knew her groom well and how he dreamed of the sea.

My Neighbours House

In the middle of the forest a large clearing had been made; large enough to fit a small city block. Many watched as construction crews came and went wondering what was taking place behind the trees. Soon the crews left and moving trucks and furniture deliveries began to come and go. More gathered as whispers spread across the wind. Who was moving into the clearing in the forest. As we watched a young couple moved into the large home fit for several families. I was fortunate enough to be invited into their home; to hear their story and to share their tale. My neighbours house is large as you can see, but carefully decorated to fit both their jobs within. They wanted to never be apart and had agreed the only way to do this was to move to a bigger home and bring their clients to them.

A number of amazing designers have come together to fill 10 sims with home and garden decor, including textures and prefabs for you to personalize your spaces with. Each designer has items for sale with varying amounts being donated to RFL up to 100% of the sales. Along with the display items, several designers have Gacha machines and hunt items out for your pleasure. There is even one Sim dedicated to those who love breedables. You are sure to find something that tickles your fancy while at the same time helping raise money for noble cause. Several events are planned each day as well, along with a lantern release at 4pm slt. You have until March 6 to visit the RFL Home and Garden Expo.

A Shoe Lovers Dream

Bathrooms take on an unique personality of their own. Some are left simplistic with very little creative decor added to the plain white walls that surround the porcelain within; if they are lucky the splash of colour comes from the lining hanging on the rack. Some bathrooms become a work of art causing whomever ventures in to spend more time then intended within the confines of the artistically designed room. This bathroom became the shoe lovers dream with the creation of heel shaped tub taking centre stage.

My Comfort Zone

There was once this little space that stood barren and alone. A shopping trip with friends to browse through the creations of others left the owner of the little space in awe. Inspiration filled the owner as they wandered the market streets and items danced within the owners head. The owner of the little space continued to wander not buying as the friends did, but merely taking in the sites and making notes on key items that were needed to complete the vision that now held firmly within their head. The owner returned home empty handed and stood in the little space as the vision took on shape within the little room. The next day as the owner awoke they raced back to the little market to gather the items needed to make the little space whole.
