“Embracing the Light”

“And the judgment is based on this fact: God’s light came into the world, but people loved the darkness more than the light, for their actions were evil.”  (St. John 3:19 NLT)

If you are reading this article, chances are you are not one of those spoken of in the above verse, but you are one who embraces God’s light, and if Jesus stood before you right now, you would give him the biggest hug ever and not want to let go, because…in essence…that is what you are doing when you embrace the light…you’re embracing Jesus!

Now I’m going to take this message a very strange direction because I am likely writing to believers who want as much of God as possible, and I have seen an error in our Christian camp that bugs me. The error likely started as the result of the King James version being slightly off on a certain translation. This error certainly opened the door for those who would want to run with such an agenda.

In Revelation 1:6 and 5:10, it would seem that the word “kingdom” was mistranslated as the word “king”. Now you can search this out for yourself, but I’ve looked it over for a while, and the mistake seems to be evident. You may be thinking this is a small mistake. It perhaps could have been except for we seem to have developed an entire theology around being “Kings” in God’s kingdom instead of Priest! This false perception has done much damage to the body of Christ, and if you are a seeker of greater light, then you might want to hear my reasoning on this.

First of all, to add a little more evidence to the error, both the Old Testament in Exodus 19:6 and the N.T. in I Peter 2:5 & 9 speak of us as a kingdom of Priest, a holy priesthood, a royal priesthood. If Revelation 1:6 & 5:10 were translated as “kingdom” instead of kings, then it would be in perfect harmony with everything written before, but when it is translated as “kings”, there begins to be division. Also, both the NLT and the Amplified Bible have it as “kingdom”. But why is this so important, and how has it caused so much damage?

Instead of one long article, I’m going to do this in 2 or 3 short ones. So let me throw a few things out here quickly. The life of a Priest is very different than the life of a king. The desires of a king are very different than the desires of a priest. Whereas a king is set on the authority to move men, the priest is set on the mission of moving God! And let me ask you which is higher? How important is it for us to move God?

Now if the scripture really did say kings, then we would know there is a purpose for both and God has a way of working it out, but “kings” is a mistranslation and every action of Christ proves it to be! Even to the washing of his disciples feet! Yes Jesus is the ultimate king, but our mission here in earth at this time is that of priesthood! We are called to serve, not be served. We have Churches full of people trying to build their own castle and throne and to worn out to be faithful to serve others in the duty of their priesthood. This is light! This is more light if you want it. The vision of priesthood in Christ is more powerful than any king could ever be!

Kings desire to move the peoples, but Priest know the importance of moving God, without which nothing worth doing is done! The Church is called to move God… “If my people?” Only God can break down the walls of bondage and addiction and truly deliver a person.

A king is looking for his castle and throne. whereas the priest is looking for a cave to seek God, and then walk out of there clothed in God’s light! The king loves fancy royal robes but the priest yearns for holy robes. The king is not concerned if the fire goes out on the altar, whereas the priest knows we have been commanded of God to never let that fire go out! We have too many “would-be-kings” and not enough “Fire Keepers”!

Are you catching a glimpse of the damage this “King’s Kids” theology has done to the body of Christ? Can you imagine what might happen in God’s church and in the fields of the lost, if the average Christian suddenly loved to fast and pray? Yes, I did use the word “fast” in there. (A four letter word? Not to a priest!)

Please consider what the difference might be in the world today if God’s people were really “on fire” for God? You cannot serve God and money. A King seeks his gold, a priest seeks to become pure gold. Please consider what I have written here, until the next time.

The Encounter” Chapter Twenty-One 11/4/14

Blackie’s story could not end with him being ‘damaged goods trapped in a cage’.

Those words echoed in Dan’s mind as he knelt with his two boys and they anxiously awaited Blackie to appear. A full two months had passed since that day and God had restored Dan’s wings. Not much had changed in his external world, but a life of the supernatural now manifested inside him, he practiced his priesthood, lived in the high places, and knew a supernatural harvest was coming. He did not know what the shape of it would be, but God would have an assignment for him, and it would be more than selling pipe.

Dan had learned what it was to live in the high places and walk in the Spirit. His old perspective of life was long gone, and he viewed everything from the high places now. His life of excessive ‘flapping’ had been replaced with peaceful ‘soaring’. It was a supernatural thing only God could do, and there would be more, as he proved faithful, an assignment would come, God’s voice would lead him, and until then, he practiced the broken wings of a tender heart, so he would always soar.

This time with his family today was precious. He looked over at his little girl, Tammy, in the arms of his wife, Cathy. He looked at his two boys right by his side, his arms around them as they waited for Blackie. He was rich beyond compare at that very moment. From the high places, in his new perspective, he could see the true riches of life, and it had very little to do with money and material things.

“There he is mommy!” Tammy almost shouted, but caught herself as she remembered what Mrs. Parker the bird doctor had said.

Both of the boys tensed in Dan’s arms as Blackie appeared on the window ledge. “Look, dad, his bandages are off. Do you think he can fly?”

“I don’t know, son, but I bet he is going to try.”

Another little shove from Mrs. Parker and Blackie the black bird hopped out into full view. As he did, a flurry of black wings fanned the air! He flapped just enough to keep from crashing into the ground, providing a controlled fall, rather than an all out crash.

Mrs. Parker came out the side door and joined Dan’s family. She saw the look of concern on all their faces. “This is not unusual, folks. Remember, he had a traumatic experience when he collided with your dad’s truck, he was badly injured, and has not been allowed to flap his wings for two months now. Have faith and give him a little time.”

Again, Dan felt like Mrs. Parker was talking about him. Perhaps God was still using this bird to show him things. He was anxious for an assignment, perhaps even to quit his job and find something new, but God was taking his time, he still needed a little time. Dan needed to have faith, and take his time.

Blackie tilted his head this way and that as if trying to understand his audience. Tammy giggled at the funny bird. “Look, mommy, he is watching us while we are watching him.” Everybody laughed.

Suddenly a flurry of black wings flashed again! “Caw! Caw!”, he sounded off. This time his wings carried him to a large limb inside the pin. He landed upon it, fluttered a little more while catching his balance, and settled in, once again staring at the crowd outside. You could hear the children gasp when Blackie first left the ground. One of the boys yelled, “Go Blackie!” And Tammy clapped her little hands while grinning from ear to ear, face all aglow with joy. But Blackie still had not flown for the open door. Did he even see it?

Mrs. Parker reached into her pocket and pulled out a handful of corn. Walking over to the pin she let Blackie see what was in her hand and then reached up and placed it on the small platform connected to the open door. Blackie tilted his head again, eyeballing the platform. “Caw! Caw!” The children watched intently.

It didn’t take long after that. When Blackie saw the open door, he did not hesitate. Just like Dan, when he had found answers in a book called, “Flap Less / Soar More”, he dug in and immediately changed his life. Those black wings started flapping again, and when he reached the door he did not even stop for the corn but just kept right on flying into freedom! Everyone began applauding, as they listened to his cawing disappear into the sky. Blackie the black bird was free to soar again, and probably a wiser bird, because he now had personal experience with moving vehicles.

Dan ordered in pizza for everyone and they all celebrated a restored bird with Mrs. Parker the bird doctor. On one of the pizzas he ordered black olives, and extra black olives; this was for Blackie. It was a grand celebration in the bird place that day.

Before leaving, Mrs. Parker explained how things don’t always go so well, and she showed the family a bird who had failed to fly. He had been with her for two years, and would never fly again. At first Dan thought it was another black bird, but turns out it was a raven.

Just before leaving, he walked over to the donation box and dropped in a fifty, and then it hit him, he knew what he was going to do. Out of the blue God had dropped it in his soul as simply as he dropped a fifty in a box. Dan was going to write a story, a children’s story, only for adults!

“The Encounter” Chapter Twelve 10/11/14

The subject of surrender, love, and devotion; this is where the eagle lives.

Dan kept looking back and forth at the two pictures with the Pastor’s arms outstretched. One represented soaring like an eagle, and the other represented a life of sacrifice, the cross, and the two were interwoven like those cords of a rope spoken of in Isaiah 40:31.

In order to become one with the Spirit, the way an eagle soars upon a current of wind, there had to be a surrender, a breaking of the will. In this book, “Soar More / Flap Less”, the Pastor strongly expounded that the breaking of our will is not a breaking of our strength, but it is a unity of purpose, making us even stronger, like a rope becomes stronger as more cords are intertwined.

This is a process, the Teacher explained. It is a process leading to the high places, just like a stairway leads to the top floor of a building. But the first step, the crucial first step, involves a breaking, a surrender, a devotion, a falling in love, a giving to the Lord “FIRST PLACE” in your life. It is not that you do not have other things also, but the Lord is FIRST! And we develop a lifestyle of seeking FIRST the Kingdom of God. This is what the eagle has to teach us.

This staircase, although it starts at a very broken place, it leads to a very powerful existence, supernatural in nature. With God, it is the broken wings that soar! Paul wrote of this staircase, and explained that when he was weak, then was he strong! “Would you like to see this sacred stairway?” the Pastor asked. And then he said, “Turn to Second Corinthians, chapter seven and verse eleven.”

Dan was anxious to see this because he had already broken before the Lord. Circumstances, and his conscience had been pounding him for many months. The Holy Spirit had been working on him, to break him, for a long time now, and when he poured out his heart to God in prayer, he knew he had broken, and since the first step was already accomplished, he did not fear it, but already embraced it. Now, what might the second step be? And how many steps are there? His mind raced as he anxiously turned the pages of his Bible. He knew this book had it too, but he wanted to see it in his Bible first. So when he located it, he slowly began reading…

“For behold this selfsame thing, that ye sorrowed after a godly sort,” The first step, Dan thought, the breaking step.

Second step, “what carefulness it wrought in you,”

Third step, “yea, what clearing of yourselves,”

Fourth, “yea, what indignation,”

Fifth, “yea, what fear,”

Sixth, “yea, what vehement desire,”

Seventh, “yea, what zeal,”

Eighth, “yea, what revenge!”

“Revenge?” Dan was shocked. “Revenge?” He did not understand. He could plainly see the steps of the stairway, and it fascinated him. He was already into steps two and three, a carefulness and clearing of yourself. And this top step did excite him! It was powerful, just as the Pastor had said. As a man, as someone who was a warrior at heart, the thought of it was very appealing, but where was a place for revenge in the life of a Christian? And yet, had not the Apostle Paul just spoke of it, and put it at the top of this very sacred and supernatural staircase? His mind continued racing. “Holy Spirit help me,” he prayed.

Dan thought about that last verse on the eagle, in Job. “Her young ones also suck up blood: and where the slain are, there is she.”

It was then that he thought he heard God speak to him in that very deep and personal way, like he had not heard in many months, but now was beginning to be restored. He was sure he heard the Spirit of God ask, “Will you be my spiritual Bounty Hunter? Will you live in the high places, and learn to kill snakes?”

Now Dan was both excited, and scared!

“Prayer Habit”

DO WE HAVE A GODLY PRAYER HABIT?

Most Christians today are living in the modern materialistic world of instant mash potatoes. They pray quick little prayers like rubbing a lucky rabbits foot and they hope that is good enough, because they tell themselves, and they tell God that they don’t have time for anything more. This is a serious error, and I hope to help Christians understand why this is such a dangerous lie to live.

Perhaps you think you pray all day because you “talk to God” all day. So do I, but it is not the same thing. The flesh is always trying to pull us back into the flesh.

THE FLESH IS ALWAYS TRYING TO PULL US BACK INTO THE FLESH.

When we wake from sleeping all night, we have drifted in a fleshly direction. We need a spiritual tuning in. When we have worn ourself out working hard all day in this world’s rat race, we have drifted in a fleshly direction. The carnal world has a force of gravity of its own, and it wants to pull us back into its own orbit.

However, if we have a healthy “pull of the Spirit” in us, then we defy the pull of this world and God is the center of our orbit. Our life revolves around the Spirit and not the flesh. But how does this happen?

It happens when we drink of God’s deep presence on a regular basis. This is the true prayer habit, and habits can be hard to get established at first, but if we make the effort, a good habit will greatly reward us the rest of our life.

THE CHRISTIAN LIFE IS SUPERNATURAL, OR IT IS NOTHING AT ALL.

You cannot live this life on your own. You will fail. The devil walks about seeking whom he may devour. We all need to establish an “Hour of Power” in our life, and that is when we go into the “Holy of Holies” with God.

THE HOUR OF POWER = THE HOLY OF HOLIES.

Do not fool yourself into thinking that when you suddenly say, “Hey Jesus!”, that you are automatically ushered into the deep presence of God, especially if you rarely go there!

My plan is to write shorter articles, but write more often, so to make my point more quickly here, the Wilderness Tabernacle had three sections, or chambers, you might say. Before Christ paid our price on the cross, it was very difficult to go into the third chamber where the strong presence of God dwelt upon the Ark of the Covenant. As a matter of fact, only the high priest went in one time a year, and he did so at risk to his own life!

As kings and priest in Christ that doorway to the Holy of Holies is wide open for all of us to come, but we still do not start there! There is a gate! And then the outer court, then the Holy Place, and finally the Holy of Holies! Many times we start in the flesh when we pray! We have to make ourself pray! We are not so spiritual that we just want to pray all the time! An hour of deep prayer is not something we tend to naturally do, even though it should be! But it is proof that our flesh pulls at us and we do not start in the Holy of Holies when we “talk to God”.

Today’s point is, we need to take the time to seek God in a deep way. Not just wham bam instant mash potatoes thank you mam! If we treat God like a harlot, we live a dangerous lie. There is nothing wrong with quick prayers and talking to God all day “IF” we have not left undone the other!

MOST CHRISTIANS ARE LIVING IN THE OUTER COURT! (The outer court is symbolic of our flesh! It is where the animal sacrifices were made on the Altar of Sacrifice.)

YES, WE NEED TO TALK MORE ABOUT THIS, AND WE WILL. THIS IS PRAYER SCHOOL. THANK YOU FOR COMING.

“The Living Sword”

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” (John 1:1)

“And the Word was made flesh…” (John 1:14)

Jesus was the Word first, and then took on flesh, whereas we were flesh first, now trying to become the Word!

Have you thought about that? Have you thought about our spiritual journey, is the journey of Christ in reverse! He started in heaven and came to earth. We started on earth and are going to heaven. He walked in Spirit first, but we walked in flesh, and now seek to walk in Spirit! He has the mind of Christ, we have an earthly mind seeking the mind of Christ.

So what is this Samurai for Christ thing? What does it mean to be Samurai for Christ, or a Samurai of Light?

IT MEANS SIMPLY THIS: > You are flesh with a very strong desire, devotion, dedication, and determination, TO BECOME THE WORD!

“And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:” (Eph. 6:17)

…and the Word was made flesh? Can flesh become Word? Supernaturally it has already happened, but how much can we manifest it now? Even as the earth waits for the manifestations of the sons of God!

We have been given a sword, and we are to become the sword. When Jesus told Peter that those who live by the sword will die by the sword, was he really saying for us to have nothing to do with swords? (Matt. 26:52) I THINK HE WAS ASKING US TO CHOOSE WHICH SWORD WE WOULD DIE BY! (And live by.)

Jesus, himself, as our great example, lived, died, and resurrected by the Sword of God, God’s Word! Jesus lived and died by the Spirit Sword!

And who could forget his famous words of: “Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.” (Matt. 10:34)

We are the Bride of the Lamb, but we are a Samurai Bride. We have married into a holy and sacred Sword having power against all that is evil, and our Husband is also our Lord and Master. We seek mastery. The word Samurai means > “One who serves”.

I did not expect to share what I am about to. A year or so ago, I actually declared war on the devil. I don’t know if that sounds silly to you, or not, but that is what I did. Now realize, declaring war on somebody is not a small thing to do! This goes beyond just trying to be a good Christian and eventually make it to heaven. In the name of Jesus I decided to go to war! My life has not been the same since.

Two months ago I developed a back injury and have not worked since the beginning of this year. As a truck driver, loading and unloading my trailer is very physical work. An MRI reveals I need to see a neurosurgeon. However, during this time I have been able to do so much more for God!

I’m 58 years old now, and our five children are finally raised. Now it is just me and the little lady, know what I mean? I do not want to spend the golden years of my life simply working all the time so I can eat out more or drive a new truck. I want my golden years to truly be golden! God’s gold!

Driving a truck required long and hard hours. I may not go back. I have declared war on the devil and you may find me serving coffee at Starbucks if that enables me to do more for the Kingdom of God!

Two-thirds of my life is likely over. I have three books I am currently working on, and a possible connection for each. The three books are entitled: > 1) “God’s Bounty Hunter” 2) “The Sword Maker”, and 3) “Grandpa and the Little Samurai”.  This last one is a children’s book.

I was in a lot of pain the whole month of January, but wrote books just the same, books born out of pain. My body has improved but not enough to work. I’ve already explored a lot of things, a chiropractor worked on me for two weeks with no change whatsoever. I have other things I am doing, so I’m not looking for more advice here, believe me, everyone seems to know what I need to do, but I know God has me right where he wants me, and I have declared war!

I will eventually be able to work whatever job God knows I need. There is no doubt in my mind about that. The anointing on my life has grown during this time. I preached last Sunday and God moved in a powerful way. While my financial income has dropped off in a very serious way, the anointing of God on my life has increased in a very serious way.

Happy, happy, happy! I am a man at war. I serve a Master, and his name is, Jesus! He is Love’s greatest warrior. He is King of righteousness, and he is my champion. He has given me a beautiful Sword to live by. I am a spiritual Samurai. My Sword is my life, and my life is my Sword.

Perhaps soon, I will be saying, “Silver and gold have I none.” But I am happy, happy, happy, because my life is about arresting the devil, and during this time I have been watching that grow! I will make the devil wish he never touched me, as God turns the devil’s evil into my good! Praise my Lord forever. Amen!

In the meantime, I feel this Samurai message very strongly. I believe a move of God is close at hand, and indeed, already starting. God needs his people to know how to fight the good fight of faith, and not be entangled in the things of this world. What I am saying is this. I intend to keep writing this Samurai of Light message. If you find something in these words that helps to inspire you for this holy battle in which we live, then please let other people know about this site, “The Living Sword”. For that is what God has called us to be.

God is not in to making swords of steel, but he is in to making living Swords of flesh and blood, who walk after the Spirit, and not the flesh. Amen.

“Lessons in the Wilderness” #1

SUBTITLE: “I’M NOT SUPERMAN”

I sincerely believe that the wilderness journey of the Children of Israel is one of God’s greatest teachings on walking in the supernatural. This is what samurai sheep is all about, because, as a sheep, we wouldn’t last 5 seconds on this spiritual battlefield if we didn’t have something going for us. God says we are weak sheep!

So how do we overpower the mighty kingdom of Egypt, walk through parted waters, defeat Pharoah’s best army, survive a wilderness, cross Jordan River, cause the walls of Jericho to fall, and possess a land flowing with milk and honey? All this done by a bunch of helpless sheep? The world laughs at us but then has to take a second look when we seem to defy all odds!

The key is understanding God, and he lives in the supernatural.

God’s flock understands that the ARM OF FLESH fails!

 Therefore, as weak sheep, we have learned to tap into a greater power.

The lady who wrote the Harry Potter stories became quite wealthy off of man’s desire to have supernatural power. Hollywood also made a great deal of money on that same character. What is it about this Harry Potter fantasy that draws people like a moth to a flame? God’s word tells us there are two forces in the supernatural, one is evil, and one is good. One is darkness, and one is light. One is satan, and one is God. Pharoah’s magicians threw down their rods and they became snakes, but God’s snake ate theirs for lunch!

If you are a child of God you have entered the supernatural whether you realize it or not, and you are selling yourself short if you do not make an effort to learn all you can about it. The world flocks to Harry Potter! If only they would see that greater things by far, are available to all those willing to enter the doorway of the bloody cross of Christ!

In the last article we learned that God was teaching them about coming to the END OF SELF. You see, God’s supernatural involves a cross for you to bear also, and your blood will be on that cross. Does Harry Potter have such a cross? Neither does he have any real power. But  here are a couple reminder portions of scripture pertaining to last week:

“He did all this so you would never say to yourself, I have achieved this wealth with my own strength and energy.” (Deut. 8:17 NLT)

Paul said: “In fact, we expected to die. But as a result, we stopped relying on ourselves and learned to rely only on God, who raises the dead.” (I Cor. 1:9 NLT) (See last week for complete readings.)

I believe the subconscious of man has knowledge that is deeply ingrained and has a tendency to “leak out” in ways we do not notice. For instance, have you noticed that most Hollywood movies having anything to do with a sorcerer, shows them delving into ancient books of secret knowledge in order to learn things that are not subject to natural laws or sciences?

Here again I emphasize, in the wilderness the way up is down, and down is up, and what do you mean I cannot walk by sight? We should not ask ourselves if the laws of the supernatural make sense to us, because it is likely they will not, and if they did, they probably would not be very supernatural! We simply need to learn how to master them, or more accurately I should say, learn how to let them master us! The way up is down. Submission comes before the ability to resist!

God says the supernatural is tapped into by coming to the END OF SELF.

God’s word explains that the END OF SELF is only accomplished through the power of the Holy Spirit in us. (But let us move on from last week’s article.)

Now lets take another step. We need to learn the “sound” of our invisible Shepherd. We need to recognize His presence, even though we cannot see Him. We need to recognize His voice even though He does not normally speak to us verbally out loud. We need to be able to follow Him as well as any sheep can follow a shepherd, even though He cannot be seen, and in that is our supernatural life. (Is that not a supernatural challenge?)

REMEMBER, the whole wilderness journey was a lesson in staying under the cloud, and with the pillar of fire! Do you think God was trying to teach them something? I mean, is there anything that stands out any more vividly in that journey? Day in and day out, they moved with the cloud. Night in and night out, they stayed with the pillar of fire. They lived in tents so they could move quickly, even as God moved. They would not put down roots, nor build houses of luxury until they possessed their land of blessings. When God moved, they moved. If God did not move, they did not move. They had to first learn how to stay with God, i.e. in His presence.

Okay, sheep do not have a lot going for them, but here is one thing they do have, and it is powerful in the realm of the supernatural! Finally! Something good about being a sheep! They can learn the sound of their shepherd’s voice! It has also been proven that with enough time, they can also learn facial recognition, and even learn to recognize facial expressions! What an incredible symbolic picture God has given us in the sheep! How smart do you have to be with gifts like that?

>So what does the wilderness teach us if we want to be Samurai for Christ?<

1.) Mortify the deeds of the flesh, the pride, lust, greed, etc., by the power of the Holy Spirit, we come more and more to the END OF SELF, and more and more into a PRESENCE OF HIM.

2.) In His presence is a powerful force called the Anointing.

This is the obvious lesson of the wilderness journey, and will likely require a wilderness crossing of our own in order to achieve it. So what are we made of? Do we have the mettle, the spiritual gumption to take on such a quest? God is willing and able anytime we are. Because we live in a world that flocks to the fantasy of a Harry Potter, how much greater there is a need for a people who do know their God, and because of that, they are strong and do exploits! Not because they are strong in themselves, but because they do know their God! Moses may have gotten credit for parting the waters, but he didn’t really do it! He got to be the one God flowed through. God is waiting in His “School of the Wilderness” to teach us, and in our graduation there will be a land of blessing waiting for us to possess. Amen!

“Dress for Success” – Part 2

God’s involvement in man’s physical and spiritual attire.

As was stated in Part One, we see a “progression”. God did not simply take us from the animal skins straight to a glorified power suit. Man has a journey to make.

It is believed that before Adam and Eve sinned, they were clothed in some kind of glory or light from God. Can I prove that? No, but it makes sense. Just because Adam and Eve were innocent does not mean God would have them running around naked. It’s just not God’s way. Besides, we will learn that spiritual attire is very important in the supernatural. When they lost their glorified relationship, one of the first things God did was clothe them. Also, God immediately begins working in the direction of bringing us eventually into a power suit that Paul referred to as “Armour of Light”. Once man is restored in Christ and reestablished into relationship with God, we are instructed in the need to “put on Christ”. To cast off the works of darkness and put on the armour of light. We are told to cast off the works of darkness and get dressed! It only makes sense that this was also part of God’s original design.

When Moses came down out of the mountain after being with God for such a period of time, it is recorded that his face and skin glowed with light and caused the people to fear. A veil was put on his face when he spoke to the people. (Exodus 34:29-35) Now Adam and Eve had exposure to the presence of God that was much longer and stronger than anything Moses had. Yet when sin entered in, the “separation” from God was so immediate, suddenly Adam and Eve felt naked! And it was this “separation” that caused God to ask the question:

“Adam, where art thou?”

It was not that God could not find Adam, but the relationship had been broken, and now a separation, causing God to ask, Adam, where art thou? Adam was no longer with God! God wanted to make a point, and hear Adam say it.

Before we move from the Levitical Priesthood and their example of being “Dressed for Spiritual Failure”, let me show you what a huge part your “spiritual attire” plays in the supernatural. First I will give you a physical example, and then a spiritual one to show how they relate.

Most people know the story of Joseph, how he was sold by his jealous brothers into slavery and ends up a slave in Egypt, and finally into an Egyptian jail! Jails in those times were not a nice place to be! You can imagine after a few days of being there what Joseph probably looked like. In a few months his clothes would have been dirty, worn, and torn. This was proper attire for an Egyptian prisoner. However, when the king dreamed a dream that needed an interpreter and Joseph was suddenly summoned to the king’s court, I imagine they cleaned him up at least a little bit before he went. But even if that did happen, his physical attire was nowhere near what it needed to be to become the second highest in command in Egypt! Second only to the king! When Joseph was chosen by the king to be second in command, an immediate change of attire was provided! This is a very powerful Bible principal revealing a spiritual parallel! As you rise in spiritual authority, your attire will reflect it!

As you rise in spiritual authority and power, your spiritual attire will reflect it! (Or not!)

In other words, the devil can see everything he needs to know about you by the garments you are clothed in! At one glance he can see if you are an easy target or not. God can also tell everything he needs to know simply by the condition of your attire. Here is what happened to Joseph immediately with his promotion.

“And Pharaoh took off his ring from his hand, and put it upon Joseph’s hand, and arrayed him in vestures of fine linen, and put a gold chain about his neck;” (Genesis 41:42)

This is a physical and spiritual principle. This shines a whole new light upon a generation of young people who want to run around with their pants hanging off their rears and their bodies full of tattoos! These young people may not realize it, but if they are not dressing any better in the spirit than they are in the flesh, then they are meat for the devil’s grinder!

When we speak of a “Power Suit”, there is no place that applies more than in the spirit realm.

I know this may be a ridiculous example, but it is one most people can relate to, so I will use it anyway. In the movie “Iron Man 2”, Tony Stark is getting his butt kicked by a bad guy because the bad guy has caught him without his iron suit! Tony Stark is not the superhero, Iron Man, without the iron suit!

In the midst of Tony trying to survive, his suit is finally put back into his possession, but guess what? It still does him no good unless he “Gets Dressed”!!! There is a proper suit for our spiritual calling in Christ, but too many of God’s children are running around half-naked! We have not prepared in the Spirit to face the wiles of the devil! Perhaps the most important thing you can do each day is get dressed! (And how do we do that? It may not be entirely what you think.) But to continue our teaching…

Without that suit the bad guy was ready to tear Tony up. This is a very serious scriptural principal in God’s word. Psalms 91 speaks of God being our “habitation”, and that we move and live in him, as another scripture says. How do we wear God like a power suit? David understood how, and in that understanding is great joy and a great secret. Here is a spiritual example of being dressed for success, or failure.

“And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment: and he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless. Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. For many are called, but few are chosen.” (Matthew 22:11-14) (As I said…a very serious matter indeed!)

So…before we leave the dressed for failure Levitical Priesthood, if you are judging your chances of being accepted in heaven based on how well you have lived by the Ten Commandments? I can tell you right now that you are dressed to fail! And you most certainly will fail. When God sees you in that Breastplate of Judgement? Get ready! Judgement is all God will have for you. There is no mercy or grace in the Ten Commandments. If you are reading my words, that means God is giving you one more chance to understand that “putting on Christ” is the “only” acceptance into his kingdom. Anything less than a garment washed in the blood of Christ will get you bound and cast out of heaven.

The Power Suit we speak of can only be provided through the blood of the lamb that is able to pay its price. This is no ordinary suit we speak of, and heaven is no ordinary place. The spirit realm and the supernatural is no ordinary place. When I stand before God I will be wearing Christ like a power suit. Indeed, I will be literally hidden in Christ. When Tony Stark is wearing his armour, you cannot even see him! All you can see is Iron Man. The devils do not tremble when they see you! But when you are clothed in Christ? Lookout! It is a whole different story!

There is so much to say here. I do not want to leave the “animal skins” and rush into the “Armour of Light” until we thoroughly understand how important this is. If you catch the “vision” of what I am writing you will never look the same on getting “too busy” to spend time drinking of Christ. For that is what we are speaking of. Drinking of Christ is only one part of prayer, but in my opinion it is the most important part! If we have time for only one part, let it be to drink of Christ! For then we will be fortified to grow in Christ and live in the supernatural. If we are faithful to get dressed and not run around spiritually naked, all the other principles of our priesthood will come! It is a supernatural chain-reaction, Christ in us!

But they said, No, we will not dress.

I hope that is not you. I hope that when you see God’s precious Armour of Light, provided at such a high cost, that you cannot get out of those “animal skins” fast enough! I hope you rip those Levitical garments of the Law to shreds in your effort to receive the precious grace of Christ! I hope you catch the vision that Christianity is supernatural, or it is nothing at all! Give me that supernatural power suit of God!

Of course, the devil will try to convince you that none of this is very important. God will overlook your unfaithfulness. This guy is making a mountain out of a mole hill. I’m not really naked. How dare he compare a comic book hero to something that is sacred and spiritual! And on and on his lies will go.

I have another message I am anxious to get to, but God is not releasing me to do so. He wants this principal of spiritual attire taught in power and detail! There is so much more I have not yet touched on.

God “wants” to be your Power Suit against the devil!

God does love you, and the devil is his enemy. God has already defeated Satan, but you have not! God loves enabling you to have victory over your enemy! Let God become your habitation today. Fall in love with him the way David did. Drink of Christ on a regular basis and watch the supernatural chain-reaction begin to happen in you! Next week we will take this farther. Christ came to bring light to a people dressed in the Levitical garments of failure. Jesus was walking around in the power of love God, and love your neighbor as yourself, while the religious leaders he faced were experts in the law. Law was willing to crucify love!

Law was willing to crucify love, and love submitted, knowing it was the price for man’s redemption. Law makes the cross a cruel instument of torture and death, but love turns it into a place of salvation! A place bringing forth life! I ask you, which is the greater power?
