20/20 PERFECT VISION

Image
Kira had a check-up with her eye doctor today and he gave us the BEST news... Kira is now seeing 20/20 in her left eye!! We caught the problem early enough and she now has perfect vision in both eyes!  The doctor said to have Kira continue to wear her glasses for a year (that way her eye doesn't regress) and then we will slowly take them away. It is such a good feeling knowing that she will no longer need to wear glasses. I was so happy with the news; Kira was a little bummed because she loves her glasses. I still feel a little guilt with Caleb, thinking that if we could have caught Caleb's eye problem early enough, then maybe he wouldn't be having to wear glasses the rest of his life. I think that will always haunt me.

Christmas Party & Santa

Image
Saturday was our ward Christmas party and it was a hit! We had a nice smoked turkey dinner with dutch oven potatoes, salad, and rolls. Then while we were eating, a friendly face from the North Pole walked in the door. The kids were EXCITED!! We waited in line to see Santa and the kids all knew what to ask for. Caleb at first was going to ask Santa to fix his Nintendo Ds, but Justin was able to fix it and so now he wants a Ds game or a Nerf gun. Kira wants to be surprised like last year (YES!), and then Jacob is asking Santa for a toy "Yamaha and Kawasaki motorcycle from Walmart". Santa gave each kid a sack of candy and then they each got to pick a prize. There was also a short program and the primary kids got to sing a Christmas song and use bells while they sang. It was a great night!     Jacob and his best buddy Maddux The primary kids singing their song.

Christmas Piano Recital

Friday night the kids had their Christmas piano recital. They did AWESOME!! I am always so proud of them and I love seeing how much they progress. Caleb and Kira played a duet to the song "Joy to the World". Then Kira played Silent Night, Jingle Bells, and Away in a Manger. Caleb played O Little Town of Bethlehem, Deck the Halls, and Frosty the Snowman. Then Caleb and Kira also played a trio with another boy, Austin Williams, and they played Up on the House Top. This was Caleb and Kira's first time playing in a trio; it was really neat! I am so proud of them. Caleb had some REALLY hard songs and even his piano teacher commented on how hard the songs were and how she doesn't give out those songs too often because they are difficult. Caleb never gave up and he did a fantastic job!! I LOVE hearing Christmas songs and I love that Caleb and Kira have so many songs they can play.   Caleb and Kira with their teacher- Mrs. Jo...

BOUNCE

Image
We were invited to go to BOUNCE with some friends of ours for family night. We had been there one other time and the kids loved it. We met a couple families there, the Oakeys and Ellsworths, and the kids and adults played for a couple of hours. At BOUNCE there are a bunch of blow-up houses for you to jump in, slide down, combat, velco to, and race in. I think the adults had just as much fun as the kids!! The women challenged the men to a race in one of the maze toys and the girls came out on top! GO GIRLS!!  We had a FUN night! The kids came home and they were asleep within 5 minutes of going to bed. THANK YOU Oakeys and Ellsworths!!    Justin and Caleb in combat. I love how Caleb has the helmet on! This slide is Jacob and Kira's favorite. They went down this over and over! Caleb stuck to the velco wall. Alli all ready to give the velco wall a try. Justin stuck to the wall. VANDAL HOCKY GAME!

Image
Justin was given a bunch of hockey tickets at work for the Vandal vs. Bronco game. We took the kids and also invited the Scholes family to come along (even though they are Bronco fans!). This was the first time Kira and Jacob had ever been to a hockey game. The kids had fun with their cousins and Caleb was excited that the Broncos won- BOO!  The Broncos pulled it out 5 to 1. A little disappointing, but still fun to watch! Once a Vandal, always a Vandal.   I. D. A. H. O... Idaho, Idaho, GO! GO! GO!!!! Vandals warming up. Starting line-up for the Vandals and Broncos. And the game begins... Hanging out with cousins is the BEST! Kira and Alyssa (matching hair cuts). Love this girlie, even if she is a Bronco fan! Look how cute she looks!! Jacob lost interest in the game after a while and thankfully he had an ipad to keep him entertained. He ended up falling asleep on my lap with 8 minutes l...

Family Pictures!

Image
My AMAZING, TALENTED, and AWESOME friend Candice took our family pictures a couple weeks ago. I was so happy that the weather cooperated with us that day. It was a beautiful, warm day. Candice took our pictures at the MK Nature Center and what a fun place for the kids! They loved trying to find all the big fish. I always seem to get a little stressed out come picture time, but in the end when we get the pictures back, it was totally worth all the stress. I LOVE the way the pictures turned out and I am so happy we got them taken. THANK YOU Candice for making our family look so good!!   Wall Family 2012    Jacob- 3 yrs old Kira- 6 yrs old Caleb- Almost 10 yrs old

HALLOWEEN PIANO RECITAL

Image
Caleb and Kira had a Halloween piano recital where they got to dress up and play Halloween songs. They did this last year and loved it and so they were excited to do it again this year. Their piano teacher wrote up a skit to go along with the recital and it was super cute! My sister Linda came and brought her two kids with her (Shane and Alyssa) to the recital. Kira and Caleb were excited to have a few fans in the crowd. Caleb and Kira are doing an amazing job with the piano. I love that they have this musical talent.I am SO PROUD of them both!!    Kira played Trick or Treat Suite, which included three little songs - I. Trick or Treat?, II. The Grinning Pumpkin, and III. Black Cat Waltz. She also played her favorite song which was called One Scary Night. Caleb played 2 songs- Pirates at Sea and Black Cat Bounce. Black Cat Bounce was a really difficult song and Caleb stuck with it and learned how to play the song and he did a fabulous job! Cal...

TRUNK-OR-TREAT

Image
This year there were 3 wards putting on a trunk-or-treat at our church from 6-7pm. The kids were super excited to go and get a bunch of candy! The Scholes family joined us at our trunk-or-treat this year. It worked out so well, Caleb and Shane went around together, Alyssa and Kira went around together, and Linda and I took Jacob and Makayla around. The kids came away with a lot of candy!! At the trunk-or-treat hot dogs were served and so when we were done trick-or-treating, we ate and chatted with our friends. It is so fun seeing all the creative costumes. Jacob's costume was quite a hit. Justin hooked lights up and so his Cars costume had headlights. After the trunk-or treat we came home and took the kids around the neighborhood for some door-to-door trick-or-treating. Our neighborhood must not get a whole lot of trick-or-treaters because my kids were given handfuls of candy at each door! We onl...
