Pull up a bench or chair and stay a while. We have coffee or tea, but there’s competition for the crackers and nuts. I remember, at home, we had red squirrels nesting in the tall cottonwood trees. Wherever there was food, there were squirrels coming headfirst down the trees. Chittering!!! Hold onto the plate, or see the crackers heading up the tree and nearest branches out of our reach.
This week, the air quality was up and down, with forecasts of rain that never arrived until late afternoon of Friday. The last third of the lawn mowing, there was finally a drizzle of rain and a faint thunderclap or three in the distance.
The clinic’s new precheck-in appointment system has/had problems, but surely they will be straightened out by the beginning of next year. I did enjoy Wednesday’s meeting with the Diabetes Educator. My diet is doing well. A1C went from 6.4 to 5.9, which I probably mentioned when I received the test results. The confinement in the house, first by four-foot snowdrifts, and then the worrisome air quality, has gotten me out of the habit of the more strenuous and/or fun exercises. I do not want to lose flexibility or stamina. And I must maintain my weight. Help yourself to another sandwich! I’m full!
Since the beginning of the month, I’ve written three short poems that I like. I am looking forward to Liz Danforth’s two-hour social/co-working Zoom meeting on Saturday afternoon. Putting the eggs in to hard-boil for salads and catching up on laundry.
Can hardly believe I’ve stayed up so late! Thanks for the company. I apologize for any misplaced fragments. On the old, persnickety laptop that adds and subtracts stuff on a whim.
Later!
