Weekend Coffee Share is a time for us to take a break from our lives to enjoy some time catching up with friends (old and new)! / Grab a cup of coffee and share with us! What’s been going on in your life? What are your weekend plans? Is there a topic you’ve just been ruminating on that you want to talk about?
Our host for Weekend Coffee Share is Eclectic Alli, whose coffee share post and Inlinkz link party for this weekend can be found HERE!
Welcome! We awoke, today, to frost on the window panes. A day for hot cider or cocoa, perhaps. If we were getting together to visit, today, we could look at photographs from August, rather than February, and pretend that it’s still summertime in the Red River Valley.
It’s getting on towards mid-afternoon, and I am in my recliner, covered by blankets. My Scamper is at my feet, and Al’s is curled up on his lap in the recliner. There is no place we must be, today.
Life continues, this quiet week, with no particular pattern disruptions. We do not have a radio, aside from amateur radio equipment, and I am continuing to limit my exposure to social media in general. In the year leading up to the 2016 general election, I even discontinued my subscriptions to NY Times and the Washington Post, preferring to avoid angry voices.
That being said, I did send away for a mail-in primary ballot, so as to avoid the gathering of people at the polling location. Though the flu bugs might miss me, the fragrances do not; the ceiling in that room is far too low, and the air circulation is inadequate.
If we were having coffee, together, this afternoon, I would mention that I fixed an actual meal for lunch, today: 5 oz of fish fillet, a bowl of salad greens, and 5 oz of gf fettuccine with garlic sauce. I did well, the first part of the week, with exercise, putting in about 10 miles on the exercise bike in the gazebo. The elliptical machine, let me tell you, not … not an adequate substitute. The pain in my neck muscles is gone, but I am continuing to use the inflatable neck pillow.
And if we were visiting together, today, I would have shown you some of the photographs that I took, this week.
I’m curling up, again, with a fresh cup of English Breakfast tea, a warm puppy at my feet, and hoping for a nap before evening. Best wishes for your weekend and the week to come!
Hugs,
Lizl

In response to the Weekly Photo Challenge prompt on 16 May 2018: Liquid. As the morning’s sunlight hits the eastern windows in late December, the frost ferns transition slowly to drops of water. Gradually, the window panes become dry and clear.
