‘Masters of the Universe’ Star Camila Mendes Tells Us All About Teela

Teela has been a staple in every iteration of Masters of the Universe. Without Teela, there is no He-Man. That’s as true today as it ever has been. Her true heritage and how it ties into the grander mythology of Masters of the Universe is essential to the storylines, and how Adam learns to fight and become a mighty warrior is tied to her combat training as the captain of the guards. So the film needed an actress who could be as graceful, resilient, and powerful as the history of the character has demanded. Which is exactly what made star, Camila Mendes perfect for the role!

NOC Review: ‘The Mandalorian and Grogu’ Satisfies with Simplicity

The Disney-era of Star Wars films has been fraught with controversy. The sequel trilogy proved incredibly divisive and, in some ways, directionless. Solo was met with production troubles, mixed reception, and ended up heavily underperforming at the box office. The only film that die hard Star Wars fans seem to fully unite around is Rogue One, and its legacy. Now, after a seven year hiatus, the pressure is on for The Mandalorian and Grogu to be more positively received than most of its five predecessors. And thankfully, it rises to the occasion.

‘Masters of the Universe’ Director Travis Knight is a Master of Cinema

It’s true, Travis Knight may not have the same level of recognition as Spielberg, Nolan, or Tarantino. However, for over 10 years, he has quietly and stealthily become one of the strongest storytellers in cinema today. ‘Wildwood’ Teaser Proves Why Cinema Needs More Laika

Art is dying. We are living in a time where consumerism and profits tend to outweigh the value we put into handcrafting unique works of beauty and human ingenuity; hence the rise of AI, and massive layoffs across the industry. It’s because of this that studios need to be reminded about the awe and wonder that comes with the strength of true artistry. Thus, what cinema needs now more than ever, are films like Wildwood, and studios like Laika, who are and have always been passionately committed to the value of creativity and absolute human craftsmanship.
