Passion, Sweat And Sounds Of Love - Adding To The Family

It is natural, so don't blush. I'm talking about making love, having sex, "knowing" one another, being intimate, rolling in the hay and as Marvin Gaye would say, getting it on.

When lost in the moment of a sweat-and-rumpled-sheets-love-making experience, one thing probably escapes your mind - getting pregnant and having a baby. If you haven't taken the time to think about pregnancy before actively participating in a sexual encounter, then you might just end up with a crying, laughing, eating, pooping, burping, screaming baby in nine months.

After nearly floating to Heaven during my one and only childbirth experience, I was told that more pregnancies were not in my future and that I should make sure that it didn't happen. That wasn't thrilling news since I actually wanted twelve children.

Don't faint. I really did want twelve children. I mean seriously, who wouldn't want twelve children like the sweet child I was able to birth.

My daughter, Alyssa, at Hollywood Cemetary

See? That's why I wanted twelve children. If it had been possible, I would now have twelve children and the name of my blog might be The Ragged Redhead Riter.

Anyway, the time to think about birth control or the lack thereof is before your naked lover is whispering in your ear. The things that most people consider before adding another member to the family are:

  • Finances for the next eighteen years minimum
  • Stay-at-home or go back to work
  • Medical insurance
  • Life insurance
  • Housing space
  • Family Leave policies at work
  • The strength of the relationship with your spouse
  • If you're ready to change habits...alcohol, illegal drugs, smoking
  • The mother's health
  • Understanding risks for certain problems or diseases that run in your family

If you don't decide on a method of birth control AND you don't want a baby, then abstinence is your only answer. Oh, you don't like that answer? Me either! So think about birth control with your spouse or you may end up having a child who writes a blog called The Redhead Riter. Right, Mom?

Now you know why I only had one child and that Mom and Dad never thought about birth control before enjoying an experience of wild abandon. Now it is time for you to share some truth....How and when do/did you decide your family is/was complete? Something for you. Something for me.

Immediately, I know you want to know what's in it for you, but you will have to really read most of the whole post to know the answer my Rockin' Friend. Yes, that's a hint!

My brain never stops. I definitely have a woman's brain. That's a good thing and sometimes it's a bad thing. In this instance, it's a good thing!

As you know I have a forum also known as a community. It is a place where people go to chat with other people that obviously have some of the same interests because they belong to my community and read my blog. We have some commonalities which increases the enjoyment of a chat here and there with each other. Think of it as living in a neighborhood and going next door to talk to your neighbor to chit chat. In this case, however, you can do it in your pajamas at 2:00 a.m. if you want without ever waking a soul. Doesn't get much better than that now does it?

Joining is FREE and my community is part of the BlogFrog platform. I used to have my community with a different platform, but when they decided to charge me each month, I moved it to a place that was FREEEEEEE! I like FREE.

There are all kinds of topics that get started in the community. Here are a few examples:
I even have a few topics that are constant such as:

The Daily Chat - A continuous thread. This is a place that we just hop in at any time and tell whatever we have on our mind. It's a free for all conversation without a real topic.

So now comes the moment of truth...What's in it for you? Besides actually making great friendships and learning all kinds of fantastic information, I'm going to help YOUR blogs get more exposure by doing something a little special each week. At the end of each week, I will write a post recognizing the top nine participants in my community. The post will include links to the blogs as well as a very cute button to let the world know you are a Rockin' Friend.

Rockin' Friend

Sometimes I will interview one of the top ten, give prizes to the participant with the most participation or something else completely different! I have so many ideas in my head right now to make this an exciting blog post each week..

What's in it for me? I will have a way to recognize the top participants in my community, gain more participation and help others with exposure to their blogs!

It really is a win/win as far as I see it.

How does that sound to you my Rockin' Friends? Something fun, different and a little exciting? If you haven't joined yet, hurry on over and let's start getting to know each other even better!

One more thing! To start this off, I am putting a Linky below. If you have a blog, just add the blog link. This is just about sharing your blog today. Let's get excited about showing off your blogs!

The Redhead Riter

BLOGNTWEET to BlogFrog

Welcome!

With the announcement by Ning that their communities/forums would no longer be free, it left me and the members of my forum called BLOGNTWEET with a decision to make: Have paid membership or find another platform for our community that would remain free. I want the followers of my blog to participate in our conversations as well because you add great insight from your own experiences and that is why I am posting this today.

I took a poll at BLOGNTWEET and the majority chose to remain free even if there are less features. Anna said, "Wow!!! Yeah, stay free" and Arika agreed saying, "Stay free!! I love chatting with you ladies."

Exploring all free options I kept coming back to the same platform which I have already been a member for many months, but became active in the community on precisely 11/22/2009. It is not the same type of forum, however, it preserves our ability to chat with one another.

The easiest way to describe it is that we all live in a city called BlogFrog. Within that city, my house is called The Redhead Riter and all my friends come over to my house to chat and eat doughnuts (We would if you really came over to visit me). While you're in my house, since there are a whole bunch friends in my really big house, there are a lot of different conversations going on at the same time. You can chat in them all if you want or you can even start your own chat in my house and we will all chime in with our opinion just like we do now in "The Daily Chat" at BLOGNTWEET.

When you finish a book, host a giveaway, need things tweeted (happy to get this done for you Cindi so you can set up the chat each week), wreck the car (I won't name names on this one), have a pretty picture of the rain (I know you secretly love these Anna), and a myriad of other topics, just post them in The Redhead Riter community. From now on I will also start discussions on topics that I address in my blog too.

Just as you wanted, BlogFrog is entirely free.

You also have the option of either creating your own community by linking your blog, Twitter and future state, Facebook. If you do not want your own community, don't have a blog and/or do not have a Twitter account, that is fine too. EVERYONE can join The Redhead Riter community!

It is VERY SIMPLE to set up your account. If any of you get stuck, I am still just an email away. If you want your own community and need help with a background or header, give me a shout. PJ, if you just don't want to even try setting it up, let me know because I am poised and ready to help you.

So Teresa, to answer your question of what we are going to do...the answer is BlogFrog. I have already set up a welcome chat and I'm just waiting for you to join me!

If You're Blessed, Take A Minute

Look around you.

Are you blessed?

Thankful?

Then there is something that you can do for someone else that requires very little effort, but can make a huge difference in someone's life...

The life of a sick child.

BlogFrog will donate $10 to The Children's Hospital if I add 20 people to my BlogFrog Community.

That's it!

Just open a BlogFrog account, go to my Community...

Click here to enter my Community

It looks like this...

My BlogFrog Community

All you have to do after opening your own BlogFrog is...

2 Easy Steps

Cha-ching!
Cha-ching!
Cha-ching!
Cha-ching!
Cha-ching!
Cha-ching!
Cha-ching!
Cha-ching!
Cha-ching!
Cha-ching!

That's one cha-ching for each dollar.

$10 will go to the Children's Hospital.

Nothing out of your pocket.

Only takes a few moments of your time.

Besides, we talk to each other in the postings and comments of my blog. This is more interactive and off the cuff. It is actually fun.

But the bottom line is that it costs you nothing, nada, zilch, zero to add $10 donated from BlogFrog to the Children's Hospital.

Here's the official pitch...

BlogFrog holiday challenge "Come interact with other readers of this blog and help The Children's Hospital at the same time! BlogFrog is sponsoring the "Give the Gift of Community" challenge to its members to inspire blog readers to connect with their peers in communities this holiday season. If this blog gets 20 new participants to start or reply to a community discussion, BlogFrog will donate $10 to The Children's Hospital, one of the top 10 hospitals in the country for kids and teens. Don't be shy, hop on over to my community (http://theblogfrog.com/psearch/Community.aspx?blogID=1024359) and meet your fellow readers!"

Did I convince you to give $10 with just a few clicks?

I hope so.

Not everyone is as blessed as I am to have a very healthy child.

Please take that minute.

I will even sweeten the deal. If you sign up, you can add 10 extra entries to any of my next 5 contests including the free postcards running now.
