More makeup swatches.

Got a few samples from Fabled Fragrances and a full size shadow from Femme Fatale. Finally got around to swatching them.
Gorgeous colors!

This color is called Slippery Slip and it's a beautiful duochrome.

In front of some light from a window. top: Clockwork Pistol, Eldritch. Middle: Peridot Smoke, Delirium. Bottom: Nightmare, Slippery Slip. All swatches over Milani eye primer.

Different lightings...

You can see the shift in color with Slippery Slip. It changes from violet blue to auburn brown.

Vegan Makeup Birthday Haul Part 2.

As promised, here are some gorgeous swatches of my other 2 orders from Silk Naturals and Shiro Cosmetics.

Silk Naturals! All on top of Milani eye primer L to R: Rendezvous (matte dark plum), Semi-Sweet (chocolate brown with pink interference shimmer), Boost (Deep peach with gold interference shimmer), Double Tap (free gift. Peachy champagne), Grainy (warm golden taupe tan). I forgot to swatch Mysterious!

Afterglow blush which is a dupe for Nars Orgasm, a peachy pink shimmering sheer blush. So good for tan skin tones.

A small order from my fave Shiro Cosmetics!

From L to R: Molag Bal (matte rose brown with subtle white sparks), Baker's Boy (light shimmery golden brown), Mockingjay (metallic brown-copper bronze), Star-Crossed (blackened coppery brown), Play Red Rover With the Fence (deep opaque plum with bright violet sparks).

Outdoor light.

I'm in love with them all!!! Beautiful choices and quality products. Go Cruelty Free today!
Silk Naturals make gorgeous dupes of MAC, Urban Decay, Nars and more!

Shiro is just a unique brand that I'm forever faithful to.

Edited to add: I forgot to swatch two Shiro shadow that I got. One is Don't Hurt Me and the other is Too Big To Be Allowed.

Don't Hurt Me on top is a gorgeous "smokey, blackened plum-copper with a soft rose overlay" and Too Big To Be Allowed is an earthy brown with pink sparkles. I used a bit of elf glitter primer underneath to bring out the pink sparks.

A natural look I did this morning. Silk Naturals Boost on eyelids with a little Semi-sweet blended into socket. Afterglow blush. Also used Shiro Cosmetics lipgloss in Nick Cage Niblling Petit Fours in a Posh Victorian Tearoom. Depending on primer and application the shadows can look soft and subtle like today or more dramatic like in the swatches which are heavy on the pigment.

Vegan Makeup Birthday Haul Part 1

I placed a few orders with several makeup companies recently as a late bday gift to myself. Today I had time to swatch my Brija Cosmetics and Tater Rounds Beauty eyeshadows.

Brija order: I Don't Age (rose gold), Hot Chocolate (warm brown), Take A Selfie (grey brown taupe), Page 394 (charcoal grey with blue tinge), Boo! (Free gift. Light sparkly grey blue).

Swatches in order as above. So beautiful! I especially love HotChocolate and I Don't Age.  Taken in front of window.

Indirect light.

These cuties are from Tater Rounds Beauty.

Cranberry Sauce (cranberry metallic red), Roasted Chestnuts (brown taupe with gold), Storm Cloud (grey brown matte taupe).

In front of window.

Indirect light. The red is not very metallic as it was described, but still pretty. The grey brown taupe leans very grey. It even has a purple tinge to it. Tater Rounds Beaty

All in all very happy with my orders. Next up, Shiro Cosmetics and Silk Naturals!

Vegan cosmetics review: Shiro custom lipgloss!

A package was waiting for me when I got home today. I ordered from Shiro Cosmetics again, this time to try out their custom lipgloss service. So basically you can choose any eyeshadow, blush, bronzer, or face powder shade (as long as they're the "lip safe" colors) and get a gloss in that shade. You can choose either sheer, moderate or opaque and also get it flavored for a dollar more. Fun!

My choices. On the left, Queensguard (Game of Thrones inspired) in moderate opacity with pink frosting flavor. A really pretty orange brown. On the right, A Regular Bears Meeting (Hobbit inspired) in moderate opacity with French vanilla flavor. I wanted a chocolatey brown gloss to evoke the 70's Biba vibe. This one does that and it's also very pretty. There is a tiny amount of gold shimmer in it.

Swatches. Really warm and quite natural.

Some eyeshadow samples in purples.

Top to bottom: Eeny Meeney Miney Burn, Lets Use All the Colors, You Want These Lumps. Over Elf glitter glue.

Same colors in indirect light.

And here's a tiny pic of me trying out the brown gloss. I like it!

Vegan cosmetics review: Pumpkin and Poppy Cosmetics (and one ELF product).

Pumpkin and Poppy are a wonderful indie brand on Etsy that sells a beautiful array of themed makeup that is 100% vegan and cruelty free. I placed a small order last week and got my order this morning.
I got a Beetlejuice themed cream eyeshadow and a Game of Thrones eyeshadow pencil. Great packaging and whimsical artwork!

"It's Showtime!" is a gorgeous burgundy red cream shadow with just the right amount of shimmer and sheen. "Protector" eye pencil is the perfect bronze! I was looking for a dupe of Biba's Outcast pencil and this looks pretty close!

Just look at these beautiful colors!

I got another vegan product by ELF when I went to Target today. This is not an indie company but most of their products are vegan and at great price points. I think some of their brushes are not vegan. So I got a Smudge Pot in "Wine Not" for $3.00.

Swatches of all three. ELF cream shadow at the far right. It's also very pretty. I like ELF products very much. But I do recommend shopping at small businesses such as Pumpkin and Poppy as often as you can. You will be getting great customer service, attention to quality and detail and wonderful vegan products to use. Sure beats the overpriced high end stuff out there. Pumpkin and Poppy ELF Cosmetics

Vegan Cosmetics Review: Shiro Cosmetics Part 3

So I think I have a problem. I can't stay away from vegan mineral makeup! I am amazed at the quality, variety of colors and affordability of these products. I now have quite a collection that will probably last a lifetime haha! I ordered yet again from Shiro Cosmetics because they recently came out with a limited edition gold eyeshadow inspired by Leonardo DiCaprio's Oscar win. I don't give a damn about the Oscars, or Leonardo for that matter but the eyeshadow is pretty! I made a small order that included this as well as a Nic Cage themed eyeshadow, a lipgloss and some samples.

Nic Cage and Leo shadow artwork.

Love these titles!

Nic Cage Raking Leaves on a Brisk October Afternoon is the color of dark coffee grounds with gold sparkles. Finally an Oscar for Leo DiCaprio is a very pretty gold which leans cooler than most golds.

Nic Cage Doing The Charleston in a Bustling Speakeasy lipgloss is a beautiful deep berry red.

Swatched on my hand, no primer: Nic Cage lipgloss at the top. Underneath is Nic Cage Raking Leaves and Finally an Oscar for Leo.

Swatches on top of primer. Left to right: (a bit of) Don't Hurt Me, Mad As Her Master, Are You Shear You Wanna Enchant That?, Skull Kid, You Dropped Your Rod, Finally An Oscar For Leo DiCaprio.

L to R: Nic Cage Bustling Speakeasy lipgloss, Nic Cage Raking Leaves, Don't Hurt Me, Mad As Her Master.

Vegan Cosmetics Review: Shiro Cosmetics Part 2

I wanted to show you my second order from Shiro Cosmetics because it is different from the last one which was full of rainbow-y colors. This time I was drawn to pretty browns, oranges and taupes. Great for creating earthy natural looks with a bit of sparkle!

All these loose eyeshadow samples in bags were $1 each. Lots of browns, taupes, greys, oranges... You get plenty of product to last many many uses. The thing about mineral makeup is that a little goes a long way!

This was the Color of the Month: The End is Nye featuring Bill Nye The Science Guy. And gold lipgloss inspired by the potion Felix Felicis in Harry Potter.

Swatches! I used two primers: Milani eyeshadow primer on top half and Elf Glitter Glue on bottom half. Not sure if you can tell the subtle differences. From left to right: He Who Must Not Be Named, Salt and Stone, Ganondorf, The Boy Who Lived, Gift of Mercy. Taken in direct light. Just beautiful.

Same colors as above taken in indirect light. I am in love with these colors.

From left to right: No Men Like Me, Hodor, Hypothesis, Hermaeus Mora, My Mind's Telling Me No, Burnt Flowers Fallen, That's Chess! Take in direct light. I didn't take one in indirect light and I regret that because they are very shiny in direct light.

Some closeups from top to bottom: That's Chess!, Burnt Flowers Fallen, My Mind's Telling Me No.

Left to Right: No Men Like Me, Hodor, Hypothesis, Hermaeus Mora.

From Left to Right: Mother of Dragons, Girl on Fire, I Loved a Maid, Wizard Wheezes.

The End is Nye. This is very beautiful.

The End is Nye and the lipgloss, Felix Felicis. Just gorgeous.
