Poor Izzy!

Isn't Easter weekend (Spring Break) supposed to be a fun weekend to get away and do something fun? It has been kind of a bumber for us cause Izzy has been sick since Tuesday. I took her to the doctor on Friday because she has been so horse, coughing a lot, and hasn't seemed herself. The poor little sweet hart just fusses every time she is awake. She also wakes up crying at night a few times too. When I took her to the doctor I found out that she has croup and that means that she is very contagious! So, we have had a low key weekend. I stayed home all day Friday, only grabbing something quick for dinner. Today we took the kids to the ward Easter egg breakfast and hunt. I thought that she would do OK there but, I was wrong. Once we got home from that I ended up staying home all afternoon while B and Caleb went to a birthday lunch for his dad. I really wish that I could have gone to that. I love my in-laws!
Anyway, who knows what's going to happen tomorrow. I hate missing church especially on Easter Sunday. I can't take her to nursery so, either B or I will have to stay home. I hope that I can go because I never get to go to Relief Society because of my primary calling and tomorrow I would get to go. I just know that if I even try to take her to church I will end up in the foyer the entire time. My family always has a nice dinner and an egg hunt for the kids so I am hoping that she will be OK to go. The crazy thing about is whole thing is my sister Tiffany's little girl the same age as Izzy has croup too. They haven't even been around each other. So, they are in the same boat we are in. It's so hard when kids are sick especially on fun holidays like this! Wish me luck!

We're Excited For Easter!

The other day I took my kids to the mall to get their pictures taken with the Easter Bunny. The pictures turned out so cute. They got these cute little bunny ears. Don't they look sweet together?

My two cute little bunnies!

Caleb made some cute little things at his Easter party at school on Tuesday.
When we were at the store yesterday, Caleb was excited when he saw the egg dying Easter kits. I told him that we would do it on Saturday but he insisted on doing right when we got home. It's amazing how enough continuous nagging can make you eventually give in and change your mind.

How could he resist? He sat by the eggs through the entire process.

He loved dipping the eggs into the different colors. Sweet Izzy wished that she could join the fun. Instead, she just watched from her highchair.

Waiting for the eggs to dry. It's funny how kids just have a hard time being patient and having to always wait.

Once they were dry he was happy about placing the eggs on their little stands and putting lots of stickers on each one. He soon got tired of doing it leaving me to finish the project,

The funny thing about the whole egg coloring experience was that the eggs only stayed decorated for a short time. Once I showed him how to break the shell to eat it he couldn't wait to break the rest of them. Oh well, at least we colored the eggs and took these pictures of them. It's fun to see my kids get excited about little things like this!

We Love Our Primary Teachers!

Tonight we invited Caleb's primary teachers over for dinner. They are a cute young couple who just adore him. They are the best teachers! They are there every week (That's a big deal!), they always prepare a lesson, and they make each one of the kids feel so loved. The Primary president told me the other day that they were thinking about putting him in another sunbeam class. After tonight's dinner, I called her and told her that Caleb loves them and if she could keep him there. She said OK so, no more worries about that. They were sad too when she had told them about taking him out of their class. It doesn't surprise me cause he is so sweet and likable. We enjoyed a nice dinner and got to know them better. B also home teaches them too so this was a nice way to connect with them. Caleb really enjoyed having them around. He even frosted cupcakes for them too. It is so nice to have great teachers teach the primary kids. I can tell that Caleb has learned so much from them! He prays about things that we have never prayed with him about and he is starting to become more reverent during his prayers too. He is no longer blessing his "Remote Control Bullet Train." I think it is so important to thank our teachers for what they do for our kids. It's nice to know that we are not the only ones who are helping to build their testimonies.
Thanks Brother and Sister Walker for all you do!

Miss Blue Lips

I came down stairs this morning to check on the kids and this is what I found. A mouth full of blue marker. I just had to take a picture of this. Cute, huh?

Thank Goodness For Tax Returns!

For quite a while we have been wanting to get a few things for our house. The main thing has been a new TV and entertainment center for our family room. On Saturday we went to good old RC Willey and bought them. We got it delivered today and it's so nice! Before we had a 36' big, fat TV in a huge, cheap entertainment stand that was very out dated. The one we bought is a Samsung 50" flat screen plasma HD. We're excited about it. The picture is great! We are having to get a new HD/DVR receiver for it too. I don't know much about TVs but I heard that it will make the picture look amazing with the new receiver. I am REALLY excited about the DVR. I am looking forward to recording my favorite shows. I hope this doesn't make me watch too much TV by having the DVR. Anyway, thank goodness for tax returns cause we feel like we can justify this purchase knowing that money is coming back to us! Fun changes!

Fun With the Kids!

Yesterday was eventful. It started out taking Caleb to the doctor after I went to the gym. He has an ingrown toenail and it has gotten infected. I would've taken a picture but it's kinda gross. Caleb was so worried about getting a shot. Once the doctor saw him and assured him that no shots were needed, Caleb was so happy and just talked the doctor's ear off. The doctor and I just laughed. After a prescription of antibiotics, we were on our way.

We were right by my old stomping ground, Taco time so we decided to have lunch there. Little did I know that I would get temporarily sucked back into that world. They got really busy and backed up so I jumped up and helped them make all of the orders. I must say, I still have what it takes. It's been 4 1/2yrs since I quite and you would never guess that it's been that long. Anyway, I was alone with the kids there so, while I was making food I couldn't see what was happening to my kids. Caleb kept walking up and saying, "Mommy, do you need any help? Can I help you?" The customers thought that was hilarious. I had to bribe Caleb to stay by Izzy and watch her and if he did I would get him a special prize at the Dollar Tree. After I was done, everything was great and surprisingly my kids were fine. It never ceases to amaze me how excited kids get over those dumb toys at the the dollar store.

When B got home later that evening we went downtown and had dinner at the Sky Box restaurant. He really wanted to go there because the Jazz were playing on those huge TVs. That's a fun place to eat. Even after the kids being restless and Caleb spilling fry sauce all over Brandon, we still had a good time. I had to bribe him again to eat all of his food so he would get to play in the arcade. It always works! Just when you think there is no way to get kids to eat, a bribe ALWAYS works!

There was a little tiny bowling ally in the Sky Box Arcade that was a big hit among the kids. Caleb couldn't get enough of it and cried when we had to leave. You'll have to check this out next time you are at Gateway! It's cool!

After dinner we headed back home to buys a couple of movies and get ice cream. We love romance dramas and comedy's. So these are the two I got. What do you think?

We went to our favorite place to get ice cream, Cold Stone. Even though it was so packed, it was worth the wait. There are some fun pics.

Izzy thought she was pretty neat having her very own cone!

My kids can't get enough of ice cream!

Well, that was my day! Quite eventful I must say. We love to have our camera with us when we're together. These are memories and moments we don't ever want to forget. I know that all of my posts sound like a journal entries but, actually that is my purpose for blogging. This is my family journal. I archive my posts to my computer so I will have them forever.

I LOVE BLOGGING!

New Hair Color!

I just got my hair done 2 days ago. What do you think? I've never gone this dark before. There is red, dark brown, and blond in it. I love coloring my hair. Do you think I should've gone lighter with spring coming up?

Day 7-- This was our final day in paradise and I was sad to come back to the cold again! The nice thing about the returning flights out of Oahu is that they are really late so you still have an entire day to play. We took the kids to the Sea Life Park to look at the turtles, sea lions, dolphins, giant aquariums, etc. It was fun! It's similar to Sea World but definitely not as big. It is set in a beautiful seaside location. I just can't get over how beautiful Hawaii is! Anyway here are some fun pictures.

Caleb had fun feeding the turtles lettuce and carrots. It's amazing how big they get!

He thought it was pretty cool to get the painting that the sea lion painted in the sea lion show!

Izzy loves animals so when she sees them she likes to yell at them.

These two just love being together!

Caleb loved petting this turtle. he thinks the "hands" are crazy!

Isn't this beautiful!

On our way home I wanted to get a genuine Hawaiian pineapple to munch on before we left. It was so yummy. I could've eaten the entire thing myself!

Once we arrived back at the hotel it was time to pack up our things and get ready to fly home. I wanted one more picture of my lei before I had to throw it away.

Here's one last family picture at our hotel. Notice how we had a great tan compared to our first day at the beach.

It was such a fun trip and I feel like we used every minute of it doing fun things! It felt like we were there longer than a week. I was nervous again about the flight home. Even though it was nice that we had the entire day, I knew that it was going to be hard to get Izzy to sleep on the plane. She actually ended up doing okay. The flight was full again on our way home so we were crammed into 3 seats again. I only slept about 1 hour out of the 6hr. flight. I'm just glad the kids slept the entire way.

I think the funnest part about our trip was being together as a family. Me and the kids love being with Brandon. He works so hard and sacrifices so much for us. This trip was quite a stretch for him. Prior to this trip he had been gone a lot for work.; Spent a total of 3 weeks in Jamaica, St. Thomas, and Cozumel. He was a good sport when I said that I wanted to go somewhere warm he replied saying, "Anywhere but the Caribbean!" What a trooper to get back on a plane again after all of that traveling. I will miss Hawaii but, I absolutely love being home and doing my everyday activities. I don't know when we will return to Hawaii again but, I can say that the trip was memorable for all of us.

Goodbye Paradise!

Pictures of Our Hawaii Trip #6

Day 6-- It was Sunday and we love to go to church at our favorite chapel in the middle of the city. I remember going there as a kid with my family. Being there brought back so many memories! It's so old and so unique. They sometimes open up the doors to the chapel to let the breeze flow in from the open air lobby outside. Look at the cool pictures we took there.

Look at this cool tree! This is right in front of the church.

This is also part of the church property. Isn't it beautiful?

After church we thought it would be nice to spend the day at the Temple. We wanted to try to keep the sabbath so we though this would be a good way to do that. We love it there! I love how the temple is nestled on the beautiful hillside. It never ceases to amaze me how amazing all of the church properties are. While we were there we tried to get Izzy to walk by herself. She took her first 2 steps by herself. We were so excited but, she hasn't done it since. Oh well. B and I would love to serve a mission together in a place like Hawaii!

I took Caleb to the pool after the Temple while B and Izzy took their naps. He was happy that he was still able to swim somewhere!

For dinner we drove out to the North Shore. That is a cool surf town!

The notorious jelly fish!

Day 5-- This was the day when our fun days at the beach took a turn for the worst! After going the the International Marketplace (flea market), we headed down to our favorite beach. We had just gotten there and things were going great until we saw a jelly fish. A guy by us captured it and threw it away but I think it was all of the kids around us freaking out saying they didn't want it to sting them is what got Caleb so scared. He wouldn't get back in the ocean for the rest of the trip! We tried to tell him everything we could think of to make him get back in but, it didn't work. So, our days at the beach were no more after he saw that stupid jelly fish!

After playing the ukulele at the PCC, Caleb wanted one of his own.

Even though we weren't at the beach long, Izzy was still worn out and ready for a nap!
Caleb's still dry because he never quite made it all the way into the water. He's happy now that he's not by the jelly fish.
Later that evening we took a drive down the coast and watched the beautiful sunset. It's so nice when the kids are asleep in the car so B and I can talk and hang out without distractions.
