Caleb At The Eye Doctor

I got a call from Caleb's school the other day saying that he didn't pass his vision screening test. The eye tech at the school said that he needed a more thorough exam. Of course when I heard this I began to panic because I knew exactly where his bad eye sight came from, ME! I am cursed with horrible eyes. When I say horrible I mean that I can't even see the largest letter on the screen at the doctors office. I really am blind. I thought about how sad it would be if Caleb was just as blind as me. I imagined him with little glasses covering up his beautiful blue eyes. Not that there is anything wrong with glasses at a young age but, you know what I mean. Anyway, I was anxious to see how he would react to all of the big machines and the eye drops for dilation. Here are some fun pictures of his first eye appointment experience.

He wasn't afraid of those big intimidating machines

Once he got his eyes dilated (which was quite the process) the doctor gave him these cool glasses

I tried to take a picture of his dilated eyes.

Caleb wanted to take a picture of me wearing the glasses.

Way to go Caleb!!!
I took these random pictures of my kids the other day and I think they are so cute so I wanted to show them off.

Izzy loves to play with Caleb's bike helmet!

Tubby time is a favorite time at our house! Izzy love the bubbles!

Izzy puts up with all of the water being dumped on her head by brother. They have fun in the tub together!

What child doesn't love running around "nakey?"

I just had to show of Izzy's cute curly hair. Sweet huh?

Getting the Lecture!

Ok, so I have been a slacker about my blog I know! I received the biggest lecture about not being a faithful blogger and that my posts are boring from my husband of all people! He's as much into the blogging world as I am. Who would've thought? So here I am with some fun updates.
We're still struggling with our stupid grass! Hopefully we'll get that resolved soon! I hope the weather will get better soon cause my kids are anxious about getting outside and playing. We went to the park the other day. It's always amazes me what a little fresh air can do for kids! Summer can't come soon enough!
Last Saturday was Caleb's last soccer game for indoor soccer. He has really improved since the first game. When I say improved I mean he didn't cry and get frustrated when the kids kicked the ball away from him. It made us laugh to see him skipping down the field smiling and yelling "Hey, Over Here!" He loves to be the star of every show! Way to go Caleb!

This big grin is priceless!

Caleb practicing drills. Notice how he is wearing basketball shorts, he doesn't quite look like a soccer player does he?

He finally found his favorite place on the field, being goalie! I think he likes this because no one is trying to kick the ball away from him.

He finally received his much anticipated trophy and he was so proud!

Then of course there are the yummy treats after each game he looked forward to also!
Last night seemed like Friday night. B and I went to the fun Jazz game! The playoffs are so much fun to watch! We ran into a lot of our good friends there too. There is always so much energy in that arena! It's fun to get crazy at those games. It was a great game! Too bad the Jazz didn't pull off a win. We needed that! I took some pictures there but I'm having issues posting those! I think the funnest part of all was that B's cute parents let the kids sleep over at their house last night because the game was so late. It's so nice having in-laws that are always excited to spend time with my kids! We went to dinner first at Pier 49 Pizza (remember those days Ashley?) then to the game. I feel like B and I get so caught up in the everyday life demands that we haven't been spending very much time together. So when we have nights out together like last night it makes our time together extra special! He's the best!

Tonight we are hosting a "Host dinner" for our ward activity. We just host 3-4 families at our house for dinner. I decided to make it easy and make what I make best, Tacos!!!!! Of course, you can't have tacos without the real Taco Time food! So, we'll see how it goes tonight! We love to have people over!

That's about it for us. I'll post tonz of pictures when blogger isn't having issues. They are just so sweet! Wish me luck tonight with my dinner!

Sprinkler Problems!!!

Well, it's that time of year to get the sprinklers going and we are having big problems with ours. Our control panel keeps saying that we have a problem with our master valve. Ok so the question is, where is the master valve? It is so complicated! Trying to read the instruction book isn't helping! What do we do? I must say that I am very jealous of a couple of my neighbors because they already have dark green grass and ours is still very brown! I don't know, maybe it's still too early to expect lush green grass but I guess I'm just impatient! Is anyone else having issues with their sprinklers? I hate brown grass!

I'm Back!

After 3 long weeks of renovations to my house I can honestly say that I am done now. I can't believe that I painted my kitchen, dining room, family room, 3 bathrooms, my bedroom, and both my kids rooms. Not to mention the tile and bead-board in the kitchen. I have had s lot of fun doing these things. It's probably a good thing that I don't have too many other rooms or else I would have to do something with them too. It's very addicting! So anyway, now I am back into the blogging world. It will take me some time to keep up with what you have all been up to but, I'll check your blogs and get updated.
Today was fun with my sisters at the Mayan restaurant. We took all 9 of our kids there for lunch and they loved it. We took a cute picture of all of them but, we just got a new computer so, I need to figure out downloading pictures but I will show your soon. It's always fun to get together with the sisters! The kids love being together! That is a fun place to let them go wild. Now that the weather is getting warmer and the house projects are done, I'm always looking for fun things to do with my kids. Anytime anyone wants to hang out let me know!

More House Projects

I don't know what it is but I am going crazy with home improvement projects! I guess you could say that it is very addicting! Since my last post I have redone 2 of my bathrooms with cool venetian plaster walls (which takes FOREVER but, looks really cool!) and other fun things. I'm not done yet so, if I don't post anything for a while I have a good reason. It really feels like I have a new house. B says that I am "nesting." This is my version on spring cleaning. I'll post more pictures soon.

A Long Delay!

Sorry that I haven't posted anything for a while. My sisters and friends are wondering what happened to me cause I am usually a faithful blogger. I've got good reasons though. It seems like there is always a lot going on! To recap on what has been happening with us.

On Easter Sunday, the kids woke up and noticed that the Easter bunny came to our house. Caleb was so excited and little Izzy couldn't wait to start breaking open the candy filled eggs. The kids had fun doing a little egg hunt and loading up on sweets at 7am. B stayed home from church with Izzy because she was still sick. I don't know if I told you but she had the croup and I didn't want her around all of the kids in nursery. I took Caleb and enjoyed an afternoon in Relief Society. I love being there! I ended up missing Easter dinner at my mom's house cause I stayed with Izzy. B took him though and they had a good time and a fun Easter egg hunt in Grandma Jensen's yard. I enjoyed Easter dinner with leftovers. It was still a fun day. I'm crossing my fingers that my kids won't be sick on anymore big holidays!

Here are some fun pictures.

Easter egg hunt at Grandma Jensen's
This past week I have been doing a remodel to my kitchen. Even though it is only a year old, I felt like it needed a little "sprucing" up. So let me tell yo what I did! First, for 3 straight days I rag painted my family room, dining room , and kitchen. It looks awesome. No one showed me how to do it, I just figured it out myself. It's a lot easier than regular painting! Then B and I layed a tiled back-splash all day Saturday. We really didn't know how to do that either. Thanks Danny and Kim for talking us through how to do it. That is a BIG project! Monday, I spent all day grouting the tile. It looks great! Then, today I went and bought handles for my cabinets and I installed beed-board around my island and painted it black. That's not as easy as it looks. I didn't know how to do that either. Thanks LOWES! I don't think you all understand that when I say I that means me and only me! B did help me with the tile. Thanks babe! It would be completely done if I hadn't broken the drill bit for install the rest of the handles. Here is a picture of my kitchen. How does it look? I guess you can call me Mrs. handywoman!

B can't believe how much I have done. I just love these kind of projects. There are so many things that I want to do to my house but, right now I am pretty burned out. So, that's why I haven't been posting lately. Now that I am done I will be more on top of it.
