James and I took our first road trip together to Michigan to see my sister Jacque and her family. James did great and slept the whole time there and back. He had fun with his cousins and auntie and even got to hang out with Uncle Dean for a few. Jacque was very sweet and took care of him in the early morning so that I could sleep a little bit longer. Sisters are wonderful. Here are some fun pictures of our trip.

James R - James D
James has a new friend who was born a couple weeks after him and is also named James. As you can see they have a lot of fun together.
James R. finding out that James D. is moving soon. :(
1 month
James had his one month appointment this week and is doing great. He is 10 lbs, 21 and 3/4 inches (his birth height with a cone head...this is his new height without a cone head), he is in the 50th percentile for everything. He was so good at this appointment, no crying in the waiting area, he didn't pee on the scale, he was calm and cool and let the Dr. check him out. He only spit up a few times. He did cry when he got his shot but only for a moment. He was very brave. I can't believe how fast he is growing.
He is still sleeping pretty well. Not as long as he used to but still around 5 hours at night.
He cuddles with me which I LOVE.
He is starting to smile real smiles, not just gas smiles.
He still cries a lot, hopefully he grows out of it sooner than later.
He loves to be bounced and is holding his head up pretty well.
My stats after one month and some things I am learning.
Maternity clothes don't fit and neither do my regular clothes. It is depressing.
(my MAGIC mirror still works but now I don't enjoy it. THE CLOTHES DON'T LIE)
Breastfeeding is still hard but finding that books help. I'm taking recommendations.
I don't like nursing bras.
I feel like time is flying by - I thought it was moving quickly before but this is out of control
I have only done my hair a couple times since James was born and finding time to shower is hard.
Realized that quickly going somewhere is now in that past. It is hard to quickly go anywhere when you are packing around everything but the kitchen sink. (I would try to pack that too but it won't fit in my little VW bug).
Cell phone minutes go lots faster when you are home all day.
Rocky stats after one month
Super busy and tired but loving his boy.

Who knew?
Who knew this cute little guy could consume his mom's entire day?
Who knew he could blow through clothes faster than a teenage girl?
Who knew baths could be so entertaining for parents and boring for babies?
Who knew our camera would get so much use in less than 3 weeks? (500+ pictures)
Who knew you would be like a ticking time bomb...happy one minute and then boom!
Who knew we would fall in love so fast?
