The beginning of fall is a tricky time for home temperature control. I find myself questioning whether I should open the windows or run the AC.
Joni: Wow the temperature is so nice, I love the breeze coming through.
(windows are open)
Rocky: Yah, why would anyone be running their AC right now
(in the background you hear someone's AC running)
Joni: I hope it isn't ours.
Rocky: Why would it be ours, did you turn the AC on?
Joni: Last night
(Joni checks the AC - turns it off and magically the loud AC sound goes away)
Joni: yep its ours, Oops.
Anyone else run into these tricky fall temperature situations?

Becoming Dracula
Sometimes when people dress up in costumes and such they really get into and become the character they are portraying. Such is the case with James. I saw this mask for $1 and thought it would be fun to have around. We put it on James and wah la our very own Dracula.

6 months
It is hard to believe that James is only 6 months old. I don't know about the rest of you but time is FLYING here at the Wright house.
Here are his 6 month stats:
Height: 26.5" - 50%
Weight: 15 lbs 13 oz - 21%
For his 6 month birthday we went all out and gave James some sweet potatoes. Don't you wish you could celebrate 6 month birthdays at our house? I was expecting funny faces - you know - new flavor, new flavor face. Not James, first bite he acted totally normal, nothing new. I have to admit that I was a little bummed. I was looking forward to the new food face. I guess I shouldn't complain because I got these 20 faces in about five minutes a couple days ago.
James is a champion sleeper. I almost hate saying it because I don't want to jinx myself but seriously this kid knows how to sleep. He takes good naps and sleeps 10- 12 hours every night.
He sits up really well.
He loves to do whatever I, mom, is doing and will usually grunt or cry until he can participate.
He stopped rolling over and would just hold up his head in crunch like style and grunt or cry until I picked him up.
Luckily in the past couple of days he has started to roll over again. Whew.
He loves to be outside
He loves to hug and cuddle with me - I LOVE it.
He loves taking a bath and LOVES! LOVES! standing naked and looking in the mirror. Funny boy.
He is a sweetie and I get lots of compliments on how calm he is, for the most part it is true.

Radio Flyer
I have a love with anything Radio Flyer. It probably stems from my childhood and this fabulous picture.
It used to hang in my room.
Radio Flyer = sunny days, family fun and lots of laughs.
My sisters ride the radio flyer wagon down the hill at my parents house every summer since I can remember. That is a guaranteed laugh.
In fact I'm pretty sure that Rocky and the boys (Jaxon and Carson) rode it down a hill in our family 5K.
Oh the memories. *sigh* I love that wagon.
I can see you loving radio flyer too. Oh and that deep color of red, it's about as American as it gets.
Anywho - I have an incredible Aunt who remembered the cute picture above thought it would be fun to give James a little Radio Flyer of his own. At his baby shower I opened up a card from Aunt Sue and a little picture of a Radio Flyer wagon fell out. I thought, how cute. Then I read the card and screamed. A little red wagon was being delivered to our house that week. I know, probably silly to scream but I was just so darn excited.
I pulled it out for James today and I'm pretty sure he was feeling the love to. Or maybe that was me feeling the love for both of us. Oh well, we spend A LOT of time together so I'm sure if he isn't feeling it now he WILL feel it eventually.

Kalamazoo
When I was little my Grandpa used to tell us that he would send us to Kalamazoo when we were being rambunctious. I thought it was a made up word, if you know my family a made up word or two or millions is quite normal. I was quite shocked when we went to visit my sister in Michigan and drove through a town called Kalamazoo. It didn't look anything like my mind had pictured - imaginary place = imaginary scenery. My mind had to do a little rewiring to make things make sense. Funny how that happens sometimes.
Here are pictures from our latest visit at the Bair house in Michigan.

Dear Gage
My sister-in-law's sister-in-law made this awesome blog for us to keep track of our sweet nephew/cousin Gage. He just had heart surgery to repair a hole in his heart. We love him so much and are so glad that there are people who know how to fix little broken hearts. To read about Gage, his little fixed heart, and his recovery process click here.
