10 months
First of all don't try to take pictures before nap time - even if your little one seems happy. You will gets lots of this....
Not looking at the camera
Not looking at the camera
Eye rubbing
being sad
More eye rubbing
Then when you give them something to play with so they will give you some smiles, then they cover up the smiles with the thing you gave them
Or give you weird looks like this
Then they crawl over to you to see if you are done - Oh and yes I said CRAWL
Then you give them something different and they eat it.
They continue to look anywhere but at the camera
Then they give you the bored look
And then this is the best you get
Yep, we tried this a little too close to nap time.
So little James is ten months old -
He is crawling - hard core army style, only really using one arm.
He says "ball" and he knows what it is.
He is LOVING his blanket - he gets sooo excited to see it, hold it and to go to bed.
He drinks out of a cup pretty well when it is held for him.
He is eating more big people foods. His favorites are still fishes.
He is still toothless.
He is getting better and better about moving along furniture while walking
He loves when dad comes home.
He loves to have stories read to him.
He bounces a little when we have music on
He loves to watch "signing time." It's a movie.
He is so ticklish
He loves to be out and about so he can people watch.
He loves friends that are around his size.
We are now really having to think about baby proofing - any ideas or suggestions?

Christmas 2010
James and I got to fly home early to spend some extra time with family. Lets start there....at the flight.
This was my first flight with a baby by myself. I was scared. Super scared. What if he cries and bothers the ornery man sitting next to me? What if he poops on his clothes, throws up, doesn't sleep, won't sit in my lap? What if I can't carry all my stuff that I think I need for a flight? What do I do if I have to go to the bathroom, throw up, don't sleep??? The what if's were flying through my mind at the speed of light.
Rocky's cousin sent me some good advice and it basically boiled down to....who cares. If it happens it happens and it probably won't be the first time.
The what if's still flew through my mind at the speed of light.
Well the flight was long. I had help from my awesome neighbors who were also on the same flight. James wouldn't sit in my lap calmly but he was pretty good. I laid him under my feet so he would sleep...apparently my loving, soft, motherly arms aren't comfy enough for him. The flight attendant told me I shouldn't put him down there, but she did throw in the "you are the mom, so you know best" line. That made me feel a WHOLE lot better. Yeah right. I'm a first time mom and I don't feel like I know better. So I left him on the floor to sleep with my hand slightly hovered over him. That way if we hit any turbulence I would be able to save him.
Quick question: Did any of your mom's throw their arm in front of you if they had to break fast while driving or if they felt like the car and it's passengers were in danger of being hit? You know, so they could save your life....with their arm? My mom is an arm thrower-protector professional. I kind of felt like I was doing that.
When I said that the flight was long earlier....I really meant it was REALLY long. Especially when the pilot got on the PA and told us we only and an hour and twenty left of the flight and then 40 min. later got on the PA and said he made a mistake and we really had 2 hours and 40 left. I thought I was going to die right there on the plane.
I survived and was sooooooooo glad to see my dad, who was so anxious to see us that the security personnel at the airport asked him to stand back. He was getting a little too close to the do not cross line.
We made it!

This is a cute picture of James, it has nothing to do with this post. Just wanted to give the post a little more color.
Family Photos
I was definitely NOT getting family photos done this year, but when this talented friend offered a too good to be true deal I had to take her up on it. She was awesome, so much fun and we LOVE how the photos turned out.
Then it got even better. This incredibly talented friend did my makeup for me. I've have had my makeup done before and felt like I looked nothing like myself. In all honestly I would have been happy with that this go around....but something even better happened. When she was done I felt like I looked like a better me. I felt beautiful and dare I say....flawless. If you are looking for someone to give you that boost to WOW you need to contact Kristie.
Thank you ladies!!!!!
Ok and now for some of the photos.

9 months
Stats: 19 lbs, 21.25"
James is such a fun little guy, here is what he has been up to this month.
-Refusing to even attempt to crawl
-Will find your two fingers so you can pull him up and help him walk
-Getting a little stranger anxiety
-Trying out more and more big people foods - like bananas
-Wants to eat whatever mom and dad are eating
-Still toothless
-Laughing and Giggling about so many things.
-Can barely hold in all the excitement he has when dad comes home (I've never seen hands and feet wriggle so much and so fast in excitement)
-Is becoming particular about the books we read to him
-Sleeps around 12 hours a night and still takes 2 - 3 one to two hour naps
-Is very curious
-Still sits in his car seat when we go shopping - he is very content that way - therefore so is mom
-Loves to people watch
-Loves to see what is in cupboards, loves to open cupboards (mom is very happy that he still needs help to get around)
-Gets very focused on things such as mom and dad's toys (cell phones, computers, cameras) and usually gets upset when he doesn't get them.
-Has started to do a frustrated growl with a bite. As mentioned before he doesn't have teeth so it's kind of funny. Dad told mom that she shouldn't laugh, mom can't help it but will probably regret it when he does have teeth.
-He is so fun and totally has mom and dad wrapped around his little finger.
Thanksgiving
We got really lucky this year and had not only the Bairs but also Grandpa Wright over for Thanksgiving. It was so much fun. The meal was awesome, the company even better.
Some of us cooked.
Some of us watched.
Some of us went to the Football Hall of Fame.
Some of us went swimming.
Some of us went to the OSU vs. Michigan game.
Some of us watched movies.
Some of us did some early morning shopping.
Some of us slept in.
Some of us had lots of fun at COSI.
All of us had LOTS of fun.
