11 months

My my how things have changed....

I put James down for a nap today.  He was quiet for about 30 minutes and then well, I guess he woke up, or maybe he just decided that 30 minutes was enough time for me to get settled into some sort of project.  So I let him be noisy for a little bit - then he started to cry.  I went in to give him some loves and comfort him.  Surprise, he was sitting up.  That hasn't happened before.  I laid him back down and he was quite again.  20 minutes later he is full on crying again.  Like come and get me right now crying.  So I went to check on him and SURPRISE!  He is now standing up in his crib.  I can just hear James saying "Happy 11 months old Mom - he he he".

James had a lot of firsts this month -
He fell down the stairs
He got his first ear infection
He discovered himself in the mirror and loves to give himself kisses
He tried a curry stew and liked it
He now stands up the crib

He is also starting to not nap as well
He still wants to walk everywhere but can only do it with help
He is particular about the books we read to him
He does NOT like to be left in a room by himself
He loves watching movies like Baby Einstien
He doesn't like to lay down for a diaper change
He is more cuddly
He loves the tub - so much that he will stay in it naked with no water.

If you look closely at this photo - click on it and look close you will see two cute little teeth.

This is James trying to stand up - this is as far as he can get.
This is the I am NOT happy face/action
Eying the camera - I can barely take any photos without a little helper.
 making faces.
Eying the camera again.

Haircuts and Hibernation

We are in full swing hibernation here at the Wright house.  I've read 4 books this week and I'm almost done with my 5th.  I rarely change out of my pj's and I rarely change James out of his.  We don't really go anywhere unless we have to.   It boils down to we are lazy and enjoying it.  I've been asking around to see if anyone else has the hibernating bug.  Turns out we aren't the only ones.

Rocky on the other hand is not hibernating.  He is usually up at 3:30am.  Isn't that crazy?  James and I think so - we won't tell you when we get up.
James hair was starting to get really long - like he was getting a rats nest in the back.  Now if he had a party in the back (a groovy mullet) that would be a different story...but it wasn't a party, it was a rats nest .  The kind that you can't tame - even with the powerful mommy paste (saliva for those of you not familiar) .  Oh and it was getting too long for a mohawk, a mohawk styled with water (as you can see we go all out on styling product).

Rocky and I strapped him into his chair that attaches to the counter,  he wore only a diaper, we put on pbs show (I would tell you what it is but I don't know how to spell it and I don't want to look it up - ummmm hibernating over here, remember?).  We plugged in the clippers and started cutting.  James did really well.  I was worried that he would want to hold the clippers, he didn't, well he kinda did but the show did just enough distracting that the clippers remained safe.  So baby hair is pretty thin, or at least James baby hair is pretty thin so the clippers had a hard time.  These aren't your high class cut any type of hair salon clippers, these are cheap, Walmart specials.  Well, and, we aren't your high class salon hair stylists, so the clippers are perfect for us, but not for super fine baby hair.  So it took a while but we did it.  No more rats nest and a pretty handsome mohawk.  Success!
